Lord Chamberlain (NZ)  Slow to begin and despite the efforts of its rider trailed the field for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination. Questioned re: disappointing performance - trainer noted gelding is better suited over further distances but was still dissapointed as gelding had pleased him in a trial leading into the race. Reported that gelding pulled up well after the race and blood tests had failed to reveal any abnormalities. Would step gelding up in distance next start.
