When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, which performed below market expectations, Jockey explained that gelding raced greenly throughout, had to be continually steadied off the heels of runners in front, and when placed under pressure in the straight failed to respond and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was lame in the off foreleg. Trainer since reported that gelding underwent surgery to remove bone chips from its off fore knee. |

When questioned regarding the poor performance of the mare, Jockey said that his mount travelled well in a prominent position, however shortly after straightening weakened noticeably and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer since reported that following the race the mare had minor swelling in the off hind leg with pain in the rump which was treated. She added that the mare has worked well since and it was now her intention to continue with the preparation. |

When questioned regarding the poor performance of the mare, Jockey stated that instructions were to ride the mare in a rearward position, in accordance with its established racing pattern. He said that whilst racing at the tail of the field he was caught 3 wide when the mare pulled hard and refused to settle. He added that he was then obliged to race in that position throughout and when placed under pressure after straightening for home the mare failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
