Adding the gelding, which was stepping up in distance, therefore was able to work into event better today. Adding the gelding was also assisted by saving ground close to the inside rail in the straight, which had been relatively unused in previous races. Trainer reported off side front tendon injury and will now be spelled. Cleared to race.

Rider advised that, in his opinion, the mare felt awkward in its action when failing to respond to his urgings and as such he elected not to place it under any pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. A post-race blood sample was taken for analysis. Trainer advised on 27 October that the mare had pulled up well following the event and undertook to advise should anything become apparent regarding its condition in the coming days.
