The greyhound POP THE CORK performed a satisfactory ‘Return to Racing’ Trial 1 over the distance of 395m in a time of 22.49.

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 331m

BERNIE CHEE and HARA’S SAMUEL were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start SISTA TASHA was checked when racing between KIOWA KING and TEQUILLA SWINGER, both of which shifted.  Racing down the back straight SISTA TASHA shifted in and bumped heavily with the running rail causing this greyhound to become severely unbalanced and lose ground.  Racing towards the end of the back straight KIOWA KING was checked when racing between HARA’S SAMUEL and CLASSY BARCY.  Racing through the top turn TEQUILLA SWINGER shifted out and raced wide.

The greyhound SISTA TASHA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 331m

COUNTRY ELITE, ELROXINO, CRUSHER COVENEY and GORILLA EYES were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start COS SHE CAN when racing in the clear appeared to sustain an injury and took further competitive part in the event.  Racing towards the end of the back straight ELROXINO improved onto the heels of REPAIRED LADY causing this greyhound to become severely unbalanced and shift out abruptly checking the running of CRUSHER COVENEY who was racing to its outside.

The greyhound COS SHE CAN was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

Race 3 – Maiden Heat 3 331m

DIANNE’S PEARL was best to begin.  Racing towards the end of the back straight SOME VALUE shifted out off the heels of HARA’S SIZZLE and checked the running of SPRING CALIBER who was following.  Racing in the home straight on the final occasion DIANNE’S PEAWRL shifted out and bumped with SLAYER’S RETURN causing this greyhound to become unbalanced and lose ground.

The remainder of the race meeting was abandoned due to the state of the track and inclement weather.
