Even start. Shortly after the start ARISTOTLE shifted in tightening DARK MENACE and GO BLACK BIDDY while DON’T DOUBLE UP shifted in tightening ONE WON’T HURT. DON’T DOUBLE UP continued to shift in hampering ARISTOTLE and DARK MENACE. Approaching the 1st turn GO BLACK BIDDY, UNGOVERNED and ARISTOTLE raced tight and unbalanced. Passing the catching pen GO BLACK BIDDY shifted out off the heels of ONE WON’T HURT. Through the top turn UNGOVERNED shifted out colliding heavily with ONE WON’T HURT which lost ground.
The greyhound UNGOVERNED was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
The
greyhound ONE WON’T HURT was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off side pin and was stood down for a period of 14 days.
SILKY OAK and TRANSMEDIA were best to begin with GALWAY THUNDER and STRAYA slowly away. NURSEY WARD was very slowly away. Shortly after the start SANRICO WENDY shifted out checking ELITE DUCAL. Through the 1st turn STRAYA, SANRICO WENDY and BY GOLLY MOLLY all raced tight and unbalanced. Shortly after, ELITE DUCAL improved onto the heels of SANRICO WENDY and BY GOLLY MOLLY with all 3 greyhounds becoming severely unbalanced. Entering the home straight TRANSMEDIA improved onto the heels of SILKY OAK and was checked.
The greyhound NURSEY WARD was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. M Callaghan that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 52 Greyhound turns in starting boxes, and must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
The greyhound ELITE DUCAL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. M James that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks prior to nominating.
Race 3 – Maiden Final
520m
PASSIVE PROTEST was best to begin with BLESSED RUMBLE slow. Immediately after the start CHEEKY CHANCE shifted in tightening DUCAL DAZZLE and SAHARA GIRL. Down the home straight on the 1st occasion CHEEKY CHANCE continued to shift in checking SAHARA GIRL which became unbalanced and lost ground. Approaching the 1st turn BLESSED RUMBLE and CHEEKY CHANCE collided. A short time after ROCKAWAY BEACH, SMART CHIC and PASSIVE PROTEST all raced tight and became unbalanced with SMART CHIC and ROCKAWAY BEACH forced wide through the turn. Continuing through the turn SMART CHIC shifted in colliding with CHEEKY CHANCE and DUCAL DAZZLE. Entering the back straight SAHARA GIRL improved onto the heels of SMART CHIC and was checked. Down the home straight CHEEKY CHANCE and PASSIVE PROTEST came together.
Race 4 – Novice
520m
GALWAY GALE and HOOTABELLE were best to begin with GALWAY RAIN slow. Shortly after the start GOSHI shifted in tightening ELUSIVE SPARKLE and BED OF NAILS. Approaching the 1st turn CLASSIC TYCOON shifted in forcing LA LUCCIOLA to shift out and race wide. Leaving the 1st turn BED OF NAILS shifted in checking CLASSIC TYCOON which lost ground. Shortly after, BED OF NAILS and ELUSIVE SPARKLE came together and BED OF NAILS lost ground. LA LUCCIOLA was wide through the home straight.
Race 5 – 5th
Grade 520m
Prior to the running of this race the track rating was downgraded to ‘slow’.
GEMMA DUAL and SURFIN’ SUE were best to begin. Shortly after the start HOLYWOOD ROSE HI and GEARS OF WAR came together. Entering the 1st turn MANN SHE’S FAST and MASTER JACKPOT raced tight with MASTER JACKPOT and forced this greyhound wide through the turn. Through the top turn HOLYWOOD ROSE HI shifted out off the heels of CARDIAC KING and hampered MANN SHE’S FAST.
The greyhound MASTER JACKPOT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards spoke to the trainer of MASTER JACKPOT Mr. R Cook in regards to the greyhound’s below market expectation performance. The only explanation Mr. Cook could offer was that the greyhound does need to lead to perform at its best, and that the slow track was a disadvantage for this greyhound. Stewards noted Mr. Cook’s explanation.
Race 6 – 5th
Grade 520m
DON’T GO QUIETLY was best to begin with JACKSON’S DAY slow. Shortly after the start CELTIC DANCER shifted in while COPPER LIGHT shifted out tightening THAT ONE and FYRE GAL. Approaching the 1st turn VEUVE shifted in hampering DON’T GO QUIETLY.

7 – 5th Grade Final 520m
OVER HERE and TAYTO were best to begin with ELUSIVE DESIRE slow. Shortly after the start NO CALLARATAH was tightened between MAGIC MAIDEN and MADE THAT WAY which were shifting in. Approaching the 1st turn ELUSIVE DESIRE shifted in hampering MADE THAT WAY. Entering the back straight MADE THAT WAY shifted in checking TAYTO which lost ground. KNOCKER was wide through the back straight.

8 – 3/4th Grade 520m
HANNAH MARRIE was best to begin with PRINCE FREDERICK and JAYDEN LASS slow. Shortly after the start LATE ANGEL LEE shifted in checking JAYDEN LASS. Down the running on the 1st occasion DAYSEAS RIGG improved onto the heels of HANNAH MARRIE checking this greyhound. Approaching the 1st turn THUNDER EYES and HANNAH MARRIE raced tight and unbalanced. As a result THUNDER EYES shifted out onto the running of JAYDEN LASS. Passing the catching pen THUNDER EYES shifted out off the heels of PRINCE FREDERICK. Shortly after, THUNDER EYES and BLUE DEN came together. Through the top turn JAYDEN LASS shifted out off the heels of DAYSEAS RIGG. Entering the home straight THUNDER EYES and HANNAH MARRIE collided.

9 – 5th Grade 520m
MINNIE IMPACT was best to begin with GET INVOLVED slow. Immediately after the start SPOOKIE’S GIFT shifted in checking TOKATEE KAHN. Approaching the 1st turn COSMIC SPLIT, SPOOKIE’S GIFT and UPPER CLASS LAD raced tight with UPPER CLASS LAD inconvenienced. At the same time ULTRA BLUE shifted in checking TOKATEE KAHN which became unbalanced and as a result GET INVOLVED which was following improved onto the heels of TOKATEE KAHN dragging this greyhound down from behind and causing it to become severely unbalanced. TOKATEE KAHN lost significant ground and took no further competitive part in the event. REDDY RANGER and UPPER CLASS LAD raced tight through the 1st turn. Entering the home straight UPPER CLASS LAD shifted in checking MINNIE IMPACT.
The greyhound TOKATEE KAHN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race
10 – 4/5th Grade 395m
ZABALETA was best away with FARMOR SENORITA and VILLAINOUS slow to begin. Through the 1st turn LARA SAINT and AL SENOR came together. As a result AL SENOR became severely unbalanced and fell, taking no further competitive part in the event. FARMOR SENORITA which was following was hampered as AL SENOR fell. Entering the back straight LARA SAINT shifted in inconveniencing SISTER KAHN. Leaving the top turn LARA SAINT shifted out hampering WALLY WHO CALLS. FARMOR SENORITA was wide down the home straight.
The greyhound AL SENOR was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
