VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

Trainer Mr. T Mort was fined $50 for Non Production of Registration papers for the greyhound DE FONC.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 520m

KAHUNA WEST, DARK CURRENT and TUFF IT were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start DON’T DOUBLE UP shifted in tightening SMART CHIC and GO BLACK BIDDY.  Down the running on the 1st occasion TUFF IT shifted in colliding heavily with TRANSMEDIA.  Through the 1st turn MAXIMUS AURELIUS shifted out and raced wide.  Entering the back straight TUFF IT improved onto the heels of GO BLACK BIDDY and was checked.  Through the top turn TRANSMEDIA and GO BLACK BIDDY raced tight with TRANSMEDIA losing ground.  At the same time DARK CURRENT shifted out heavily checking MAXIMUS AURELIUS.

 

The greyhound TUFF IT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound MAXIMUS AURELIUS was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 520m

CHEEKY CHANCE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start BY GOLLY MOLLY shifted in tightening SO FUNNY.  At the same time NO SHOW shifted out checking DITTO.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion SO FUNNY was tightened between DITTO and BOGIE ROCK, which was shifting in.  Entering the 1st turn BOGIE ROCK shifted out hampering SANRICO LOUIE.  Entering the back straight SANRICO LOUIE tightened DITTO.  Through the top turn SO FUNNY and BOGIE ROCK raced tight and bumped.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

PASSIVE PROTEST was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn FOUR EXCEPTIONAL, CLASSIC TYCOON, BED OF NAILS and MEG’S MAGIC all raced tight and unbalanced.  EL MUFASA was wide down the home straight.

 

Race 4 – Novice 520m

ZULU PRINCESS and JAHIMIA were best to begin with GOT A BROTHER slow.  Shortly after the start REALITY GIRL was tightened between GARRY JACK and WILDASH DUKE which were shifting in.  Down the running on the 1st occasion WILDASH DUKE continued to shift in checking JAHIMIA.  As a result JAHIMIA lost ground and collided heavily with REALITY GIRL, ELUSIVE SPARKLE and GOT A BROTHER which were following. ELUSIVE SPARKLE and JAHIMIA lost significant ground in this incident.  Entering the back straight REALITY GIRL shifted out off the heels of GOT A BROTHER.

 

The greyhound JAHIMIA was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 600m

GLASS was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn OXLEY RUBEY and MAJESTIC SEINE collided.  CUTE TO BOOT which was racing to the outside of these runners was inconvenienced.  CUTE TO BOOT was wide down the home straight on the 1st occasion.  Through the bottom turn CUTE TO BOOT shifted in hampering OXLEY RUBEY.  DARK BLAST which was following was inconvenienced.  Passing the catching pen CUTE TO BOOT and MAJESTIC SEINE collided.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 520m

BREATHING FIRE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MORE ARIES was tightened between UPPER CLASS LAD and HOOTABELLE.  Shortly after, MAGIC KITCHEN shifted in colliding with UPPER CLASS LAD.  Approaching the 1st turn TIME IS MONEY was tightened between GEARS OF WAR and UPPER CLASS LAD.  Rounding the 1st turn GEARS OF WAR and UPPER CLASS LAD bumped.  Approaching the top turn MAGIC KITCHEN improved onto the heels of MORE ARIES and was checked.  Shortly after, GEARS OF WAR shifted in tightening HOOTBELLE which lost ground.

 

The greyhound HOOTABELLE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade 520m

HOLYWOOD ROSE HI was best to begin with JEEPSTER slow.  Approaching the 1st turn PEARLS ANGEL shifted out hampering MISS CHARM.  Continuing through the 1st turn GREENOCK GIRL and PEARLS ANGEL collided.  Entering the back straight MISS CHARM and JEEPSTER raced tight.

 

Race 8 – 4/5th Grade 520m

HARA’S DERECK was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start DON’T GO QUIETLY and CARDIAC KING came together. Down the home straight on the 1st occasion BLUE STATUESQUE shifted out forcing SECRET STASH wide. Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion CARDIAC KING was tightened between JACKSON’S DAY and DAYSEAS RIGG and lost ground.  Shortly after, JACKSON’S DAY was tightened between HARA’S DERECK and DAYSEAS RIGG and lost ground.  Passing the catching pen HARA’S DERECK and JACKSON’S DAY came together.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m

The start of this event was delayed as the greyhound DE FONC was vetted pre race behind the boxes. No apparent injuries were found and the greyhound was passed fit to compete.

 

WALLY WHO CALLS was best to begin with TOKATEE KAHN slowly away.  Through the 1st turn STARLINE RED and DE FONC were tightened between SHE’S TOO HOT and HOPE’S MISS and became unbalanced.  Entering the back straight WALLY WHO CALLS was tightened between SHE’S TOO HOT and STUART’S CHOICE and lost ground. Through the top turn SHE’S TOO HOT and WALLY WHO CALLS came together.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m

DIRTY DESSA was slow to begin.
