VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound POP THE CORK performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.12 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

The greyhound BLACKJACK GENT performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.18.

 

The greyhound DOWN THEY CAME performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.68.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 331m

SPRING TO MIND and KID GENIUS were tightened for racing room when SAMMY DO THAT shifted down the track in the back straight.  TWO AND SIXPENCE and FAMOUS FOR FUN bumped on the turn into the front straight.  KID GENIUS and SAMMY DO THAT raced wide in the home straight.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 331m

JOZAM’S GOLD was slow to begin.  SPIRAL SYSTEM checked off the heels of JOZAM’S GOLD prior to turning into the front straight, resulting in SPIRAL SYSTEM falling.  ACE CHARMER raced wide in the home straight.

 

The greyhound SPIRAL SYSTEM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Heat 3 331m

HARA’S SAMUEL and GOLD PLATED were very slow to begin.  DIANNE’S PEARL race onto the heels of MALI COVEK on the turn out of the back straight, resulting in both greyhounds losing considerable ground.  GOLD PLATED checked off the heels of HARA’S SAMUEL on the turn into the front straight, resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  HARBOUR JEWEL and GOLD PLATED raced wide into and down the front straight.

 

The greyhound MALI COVEK was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – Maiden Final 331m

MARLEY MAGIC was tightened for racing room between MISS RUCKUS and FASHION ADVICE in the back straight.  MARLEY MAGIC checked off the heels of KIP KEINO prior to turning into the front straight.  MARLEY MAGIC checked across the heels of KIP KEINO on the turn into the front straight, resulting in some inconvenience to FAST AS.  KIP KEINO raced wide in the home straight.

 

Race 5 – Novice 331m

General tightening occurred shortly after the start resulting in MAGGIE MERLOT, HARA’S SIZZLE and FREDRIK losing ground.  FREDRIK raced onto the heels of HARA’S SIZZLE in the back straight resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  MAGGIE MERLOT, SPY GUN, HARA’S SIZZLE and HARA’S SOPHIE all bumped on the turn out of the back straight.  HARA’S SOPHIE shifted wide on the turn into the front straight bumping HARA’S SIZZLE.

 

The greyhound SPY GUN was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 395m

DUKE’S CRUSADER was slow to begin.  DIRTY DESSA was very slow to begin.  NICHOLSON raced wide in the back straight.  MISS KARA raced very wide into the home straight forcing SOUTHERN FLOSS to cover more ground.  SOUTHERN FLOSS checked off the heels of OBIN TOMMY in the back straight.  NICHOLSON shifted ground sharply and raced very wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound NICHOLSON was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. The connections of NICHOLSON were advised the greyhound’s performance was bordering on unsatisfactory.

 

The connections of DIRTY DESSA were advised the greyhound’s performance at the start was bordering on unsatisfactory.

 

Race 7 – 3/4th Grade 395m

The start of this race was delayed 40 seconds due to the late start of Maitland Harness.

 

General tightening occurred on the turn into the back straight resulting in all runners being checked with the exception of COUNTRY CHARM.  CODY’S GRAND fell as a result of the interference.  ZIPPING MANI checked off the heels of BLOWIN’ NUMBERS on the turn out of the back straight.  BLOWIN’ NUMBERS and NO BOSS bumped on the turn into the front straight.  NO BOSS and BLOWIN’ NUMBERS bumped just prior to the finishing line.

 

The greyhound CODY’S GRAND was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 395m

WAZZ’S FANTASY was slow to begin.  TIK’S MAN crossed from a wide position on the turn into the back straight bumping TEJAY’S GRAND onto SUMMER’S BUG onto LATE TROTS ANGEL, resulting in TEJAY’S GRAND and TIK’S MAN losing considerable ground causing interference to HIGH RADAR.

 

The greyhound HIGH RADAR was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m

MR. ELEGANT was slow to begin.  BUCK’S APPROVAL checked across the heels of BILLY’S CRUSADER on the turn into the back straight.  MR. ELEGANT checked across the heels of TRAV’S MAGIC on the turn into the back straight bumping NEW RADICAL, who checked across the heels of BILLY’S CRUSADER and then across the heels of NOTORIOUS LADY causing interference to BUCK’S APPROVAL.  TRAV’S MAGIC checked off the heels of LADY DAMA shortly after entering the back straight. NOTORIOUS LADY raced wide in the back straight.  TRAV’S MAGIC checked off the heels of LADY DAMA on the turn out of the back straight. NEW RADICAL and LADY DAMA bumped entering the front straight.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m

DAVIDSON ROSE HI was slow to begin.  MR SNEAKY SNEAKY was slow to begin.  MR. CODY was slow to begin.  REGATTA was tightened for racing room between MATT’S COURAGE and JESS NIRO on the turn into the back straight.  SHE’S TOO HOT checked off the heels of REGATTA entering the back straight.  MR. CODY checked off the heels of REGATTA in the back straight.  SHE’S TOO HOT checked off the heels of MR. CODY towards the end of the back straight. REGATTA checked off the heels of MR SNEAKY SNEAKY and lost considerable ground on the turn out of the back straight.
