GENERAL

 

The greyhound BOLD AS BRASH performed a Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 395m in a time of 22.89.

 

The greyhound ATOM SMASHER performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.56 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks up to 431m.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 520m

SIMPATICO jumped awkwardly as the start was effected.  AMY COBB was slow to begin.  AMY COBB checked across the heels of EAT MORE CAKE and then across the heels of GO BLACK BIDDY on the turn out of the front straight.  HEAVENLY checked off the heels of SIMPATICO on the turn out of the front straight putting the greyhound off balance and bumping GO BLACK BIDDY and forcing EAT MORE CAKE to race wide.  OUR GOLD raced wide on the turn into the back straight.  AMY COBB fell in the catching pen after the race.

 

The greyhound AMY COBB was vetted and found to have suffered acute cardiac arrest.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 520m

BIG BAGO and BY GOLLY MOLLY were slow to begin.  GORILLA EYES was tightened for racing room in the front straight between SMART CHIC and SHIFTY MCNOSHOW.  SMART CHIC continued a shift from a wide position towards the rail causing SHIFTY MCNOSHOW to be tightened and lose ground.  MILES OF SMILES was tightened and lost ground.  SMART CHIC shifted out on the turn out of the front straight bumping BY GOLLY MOLLY.  BIG BAGO checked off the heels of SHIFTY MCNOSHOW prior to turning into the front straight checked.  SMART CHIC and BY GOLLY MOLLY bumped on the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

GOT A BROTHER and ELL’S ALL CLASS bumped heavily shortly after the start.  LA LUCCIOLA raced wide in the home straight.  MORE FOR YOU and GARRY JACK were slow to begin.  General tightening approaching the turn out of the front straight resulting in MORE FOR YOU and PRINCE SUPREME being tightened and losing ground.  GOT A BROTHER checked off the heels of ELL’S ALL CLASS on the turn out of the back straight.  ELL’S ALL CLASS checked off the heels of MORE FOR YOU prior to turning into the front straight.  LA LUCCIOLA and GARRY JACK bumped on the turn into the front straight resulting in LA LUCIOLA losing considerable ground.

 

The greyhound MORE FOR YOU was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade 600m

GLASS was slow to begin.  MAL ROSE HI bumped STRING QUARTET on the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion resulting in MAJESTIC SEINE being forced wide.  SHE CAN DO and GLASS bumped on the turn into the front straight on the last occasion.

 

The greyhound MAJESTIC SEINE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade Heat 1 520m

OUT WEST was slow to begin.  BLESSED RUMBLE checked across the heels of GET INVOLVED on the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Heat 2 520m

CARDIAC KING was slow to begin.  DORRIE MAC was tightened for room between ANNIE BENZ and BOGART BLEND shortly after the start.  UPPER CLASS LAD shifted in on the front straight bumping ANNIE BENZ who lost considerable ground.  ANNIE BENZ shifted out across the heels of CARDIAC KING on the turn into the front straight causing some inconvenience to UPPER CLASS LAD.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Heat 3 520m

HARA’S DERECK was slow to begin.  DOUBLE STORM was marginally slow to begin.  DOUBLE STORM checked off the heels of AGRO’S GUN in the front straight shortly after the start.  PASSIVE PROTEST checked off the heels of FASHION GURU prior to turning out of the front straight.  MAGIC KITCHEN shifted out on the turn out of the front straight forcing DOUBLE STORM to race wide.  MINNIE IMPACT and AGRO’S GUN bumped on the turn out of the front straight.  MINNIE IMPACT and FASHION GURU bumped on the turn into the back straight.  MINNIE IMPACT checked off the heels of AGRO’S GUN and lost ground in the back straight, resulting in some inconvenience to HARA’S DERECK.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade Heat 4 520m

TREBLIG BRAD was slow to begin.  TREBLIG BRAD raced wide in the front straight on the 1st occasion.  TAIPAN’S TIME checked off the heels of CELTIC DANCER shortly after the start.  JACKON’S DAY was tightened for racing room between STRONG STANLEY and CELTIC DANCER on the turn into the back straight.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m

MATT’S COURAGE was slow to begin.  BEAU JILLEM crossed from a wide position on the turn into the back straight tightening TOKATEE KAHN and WALLY’S WAY.  Entering the back straight WALLY’S WAY checked off the heels of BEAU JILLEM causing interference to TOKATEE KAHN.  WALLY’S WAY checked off the heels of MATT’S COURAGE in the back straight.  VALIANT CRUSADER checked off the heels of TOKATEE KAHN approaching the turn out of the back straight.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m

SISTER KAHN was slow to begin.  BARRIE BOJANGLES crossed from a wide position shortly after the start tightening MISS MERANDA onto ARTISAN WARRIOR onto SPLIT IT, resulting in ARTISAN WARRIOR checking off the heels of BARRIE BOJANGLES, MISS MERANDA and SPLIT IT losing ground.  TARA MARRIE checked off the heels of BARRIE BOJANGLES entering the back straight causing interference to ARTISAN WARRIOR and MISS MERANDA.  ARTISON WARRIOR tailed off to finish last.

 

The greyhound ARTISAN WARRIOR was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
