GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Novice 520m

MASTER CODY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start RUSTY’S IMAGE was tightened between CLASSIC TYCOON and MACNIVEK, both of which shifted.  Approaching the 1st turn MACNIVEK shifted in off the heels of RUSTY’S IMAGE.  Shortly after, UNAFFORDABLE improved onto the running of CLASSIC TYCOON and was hampered.  SERENE STAR and RUSTY’S IMAGE came together through the 1st turn.  UNAFFORDABLE and CLASSIC TYCOON raced tight entering the top turn.  SERENE STAR and LONESOME DUK were tight entering the home straight.      Over the concluding stages LONESOME DUK was tightened as MASTER CODY shifted in.

 

Race 2 – 5th Grade 520m

CHEEKY CHANCE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start MIDNIGHT TAMMY and BRALYN COOKIE came together.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion CHEEKY CHANCE was tightened between MORE FOR YOU and SMASHNIAK GOLD.  Shortly after, GOT THE ATTITUDE improved onto the heels of CHEEKY CHANCE and was checked.  Through the 1st turn CHEEKY CHANCE and GENERAL CLOUD collided.  Entering the top turn MIDNIGHT TAMMY shifted out off the heels of GOT THE ATTITUDE and collided with CHEEKY CHANCE.

 

The greyhound MIDNIGHT TAMMY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 520m

FLASH HOUDINI was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MISS JACKPOT, DON’T JOSH ME, HAWKO’S MISTAKE and BIRTHDAY BASH all raced tight with HAWKO’S MISTAKE losing ground.  Entering the 1st turn MISS JACKPOT shifted out hampering DON’T JOSH ME.  CELTIC DANCER and FLASH HOUDINI raced tight through the top turn.

 

Race 4 – 4/5th Grade 520m

MELODY SERENADE, HAZY JANE and WHATA NICE SIZE were slow to begin.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion BULL TITAN improved onto the heels of SPANISH QUEEN with both greyhounds checked and SEVEN STRAIGHT inconvenienced.  MELODY SERENADE, HAZY JANE and WHATA NICE SIZE raced tight and unbalanced entering the 1st turn.  Continuing through the turn WHATA NICE SIZE shifted in colliding heavily with MELODY SERENADE and HAZY JANE and as a result WHATA NICE SIZE and HAZY JANE lost ground.  SEVEN STRAIGHT which was following was inconvenienced.  Entering the home straight SPANISH QUEEN shifted out off the heels of BAY OF SPRITE.

 

The greyhound HAZY JANE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – Maiden Final 520m

DREAM TIME BABY and IN JOCK’S SHADOW were best to begin.  Shortly after the start SAHARA GIRL and AEROPLANE JACK came together.  Down the home straight on the 1st occasion CORE LOKT shifted out and raced tight with CASH IN MOTION.  Entering the 1st turn SHEZA KEEN SIZE and IN JOCK’S SHADOW came together and became severely unbalanced.  Racing through the turn DREAM TIME BABY shifted out, turned its head and marred the running of BRALYN CHARLIE.  Both greyhounds became severely unbalanced and SHEZA KEEN SIZE and CORE LOKT which were following were inconvenienced.  Entering the back straight CASH IN MOTION was tightened between IN JOCK’S SHADOW and SAHARA GIRL and both IN JOCK’S SHADOW and CASH IN MOTION lost ground.  Approaching the top turn DREAM TIME BABY shifted in tightening SHEZA KEEN SIZE which lost ground.  IN JOCK’S SHADOW which was following was inconvenienced.  Entering the home straight DREAM TIME BABY shifted out onto the running of CORE LOKT turned its head and marred the running of this greyhound.  BRALYN CHARLIE which was following was also inconvenienced.

 

The greyhound HAZY JANE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound IN JOCK’S SHADOW was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. C Riordon that the greyhound DREAM TIME BABY would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 2nd offence, 3 months plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade 600m

ELEAZAR was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ELEAZAR checked off the heels of KNAVE.  Through the 1st turn PICTURES PEARCE, KNAVE and CUTE TO BOOT all bumped.  Entering the home straight on the 1st occasion MR. BRAND shifted out off the heels of OXLEY RUBEY.  ELEAZAR raced wide through the straight.  MR. BRAND and PICTURES PEARCE raced tight through the 1st turn.  Entering the back straight KNAVE shifted out off the heels of SPRING BONANZA.

 

Race 7 – RQ Young Guns Final 520m

TITAN ASH was best to begin.  Down the home straight on the 1st occasion VELOCITY SHIRL and CYNDIE’S MAGIC were tightened between PACIFIC HARBOUR and MPINGO and lost ground.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion SPRING DREAM shifted in forcing POP THE CORK onto the running of TITAN ASH which lost ground.  Racing through the top turn TITAN ASH and CYNDIE’S MAGIC raced tight and unbalanced.  Continuing through the turn PACIFIC HARBOUR shifted in tightening SPRING DREAM.  Entering the home straight VELOCITY SHIRL and SPRING DREAM raced tight and bumped.

 

The greyhound SPRING DREAM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FABULOUS STORM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 520m

SHERIDON and KING ELLIOT were best to begin.  Shortly after the start FROSTY JAY JAY and COIN OF PHRASE came together with COIN OF PHRASE losing ground.  Approaching the 1st turn MARLISA shifted in tightening FROSTY JAY JAY.  Through the 1st turn SHERIDON shifted out forcing YOGIB LUE to race wide.  Entering the home straight COIN OF PHRASE improved onto the heels of FROSTY JAY JAY and was checked.  Racing through the home straight MARLISA shifted out, turned its head and marred the running of KING ELLIOT.

 

The greyhound MARLISA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer’s representative Mr. T. Apap that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

The greyhound COIN OF PHRASE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind and was stood down for a period of 10 days. 

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m

GEORGINA was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start THAT ONE and CERVELO came together.  Approaching the 1st turn MAGICAL DUST improved onto the heels of GET INVOLVED and became unbalanced.  Shortly after, BLUE SCORPION and MAGICAL DUST collided.  Entering the turn GEORGINA shifted out off the heels of THAT ONE.  Shortly after, THAT ONE and CHEEKY FREYER raced tight.  Through the top turn GET INVOLVED was tightened between BLUE SCORPION and GEORGINA and lost ground.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m

DASHING CANUTE and SPRING FIRECHIEF were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BLACK PARADOX shifted in tightening SILKY OAK.  Entering the 1st turn DASHING CANUTE shifted out off the heels of BLACK PARADOX and raced wide.  Continuing through the turn SILKY OAK and BLACK PARADOX came together, becoming unbalanced.  Shortly after, POCAHONTAS and SPRING FIRECHIEF came together.  Passing the catching pen SPRING FIRECHIEF and PEARLS ANGEL came together.  Entering the back straight POCAHONTAS shifted out checking BLACK PARADOX.
