The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Novice 520m

ENDLESS SHADOW was best to begin.  CASH IN MOTION was marginally slow to begin.  DOOLEY’S HOBO and CASH IN MOTION were tightened for racing room shortly after the start between ALPHA ACHILLES and RUM RAMBLER resulting in both DOOLEY’S HOBO and CASH IN MOTION losing ground.  CASH IN MOTION checked off the hindquarters of RUM RAMBLER in the front straight on the 1st occasion resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  BRAE GIFT and ENDLESS SHADOW bumped on the turn out of the front straight resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground.  ALPHA ACHILLES checked across the heels of SHE’S MY DARLING on the turn out of the front straight, resulting in ALPHA ACHILLES racing wide into the turn.  DOOLEY’S HOBO checked off the heels of SHE’S MY DARLING on the turn into the back straight.  SHE’S MY DARLING raced onto the heels of ALPHA ACHILLES on the turn out of the back straight, resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  CASH IN MOTION checked across the heels of SHE’S MY DARLING on the turn into the home straight.  RUM RAMBLER and DOOLEY’S HOBO raced wide in the back straight.  RUM RAMBLER raced wide in the home straight.  SHE’S MY DARLING checked off the heels of CASH IN MOTION and lost ground just prior to the finish line.

 

The greyhound CASH IN MOTION was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – 5th Grade 520m

CHEEKY CHANCE was best to begin with TOBIAS RUMBLE slow to begin.  CHEEKY CHANCE crossed shortly after the start tightening STARK WARNING onto HOUSO DELIGHT, resulting in both greyhounds being checked and losing considerable ground.  STARK WARNING checked off the heels of CHEEKY CHANCE and lost ground on the turn out of the front straight.  TWO SIZE’S ALL and DON’T DOUBLE UP bumped just prior to the finish line.

 

The greyhound HOUSO DELIGHT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 520m

ULTIMATE BOMBER was best to begin.  MR. CODY was slow to begin.  KNOCKER and SPRING DREAM bumped in the front straight on the 1st occasion.  MR. CODY raced onto the hindquarters of PRINCESS CANUTE approaching the end of the front straight on the 1st occasion resulting in interference to MINNIE IMPACT and ROCKET READY.  MR. CODY also lost considerable ground as the result.  ROCKET READY and MR. CODY bumped heavily on the turn into the back straight resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground.  PRINCESS CANUTE lost considerable ground turning out of the front straight on the 1st occasion, and approaching the back straight took no further competitive part in the event.  MR. CODY shifted out in the home straight bumping ROCKET READY.

 

The greyhound PRINCESS CANUTE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade 520m

Even start with DON’T GO QUIETLY slow to begin.  BIG DAC and DON’T GO QUIETLY bumped in the front straight on the 1st occasion.  FEMME JOLIE checked off the heels of MINNIE JAYDA and lost ground on the turn out of the front straight.  SUPER VELO checked across the heels of FEMME JOLIE on the turn out of the front straight resulting in some inconvenience to MAL ROSE HI.  MINNIE JAYDA and DON’T GO QUIETLY bumped on the turn into the back straight.  MINNIE JAYDA checked off the heels of DON’T GO QUIETLY on the turn out of the back straight, resulting in some inconvenience to VELOCITY SHIRL.  SUPER VELO checked off the heels of MINNIE JAYDA and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.  VELOCITY SHIRL checked off the heels of INDIANA RUMBLE just prior to the finish line.

 

Race 5 – Flying Amy Classic Final 520m

Even start.  ANGELIC MISS was tightened for racing room between BREATHING FIRE and FABULOUS STORM and lost ground shortly after the start.  SIMPATICO crossed shortly after the start resulting in LADY ABIGAIL checking off its heels and losing ground.  ELUSIVE DESIRE checked off the heels of WHATA NICE SIZE and lost ground in the front straight on the 1st occasion.  POP THE CORK checked across the heels of WHATA NICE SIZE on the turn out of the front straight resulting in POP THE CORK becoming unbalanced and shifting out bumping FABULOUS STORM, resulting in interference to ANGELIC MISS, LADY ABIGAIL, SIMPATICO and ELUSIVE DESIRE.  ELUSIVE DESIRE shifted out and bumped SIMPATICO on the turn into the back straight resulting in POP THE CORK checking across the heels of FABULOUS STORM becoming unbalanced almost falling and bumping ANGELIC MISS.

 

The greyhound POP THE CORK was vetted (1st inspection) and no apparent injuries were found. 

The greyhound POP THE CORK was vetted (2nd inspection) and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. P Ruetschi after the greyhound was vetted and Mr. Ruetschi stated that the interference suffered by the greyhound took its toll on the greyhound, and that it could not recover sufficiently to navigate the field.

 

The greyhound ANGELIC MISS was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BREATHING FIRE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade 600m

Even start with MISS HUSSY and OXLEY RUBEY slow to begin.   MISS HUSSY shifted out on the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion bumping ABBY’S MAGIC out onto KIDATEE CROC.  KIDATEE CROC checked off the heels of IVA VISION and lost ground on the turn out of the front straight resulting in interference to MISS HUSSY, who in turn caused interference to OXLEY RUBEY.  MISS HUSSY checked off the heels of ABBY’S MAGIC on the turn out of the back straight, resulting in MISS HUSSY losing considerable ground.  ABBY’S MAGIC checked across the heels of OXLEY RUBEY on the turn into the home straight.  RENATUS checked off the heels of IVA VISION and lost ground just prior to the finish.

 

The greyhound MISS HUSSY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind webbing and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 7 – Gold Cup Final 710m

Even start with REALITY GHOST and LADY TOY marginally slow to begin.  CYNDIE’S MAGIC was slow into stride and lost ground as the start was effected.  ZIPPING MAGGIE checked across the heels of HOUGENIE on the turn out of the front straight on the 1st occasion resulting in DZEKO being forced wide causing some inconvenience to CYNDIE’S MAGIC.  COSMIC VEE BEE checked off the heels of MULLAWAY and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.  LADY TOY and HOUGENIE bumped on several occasions on the turn into the home straight, resulting in CYNDIE’S MAGIC suffering interference.  LADY TOY, HOUGENIE and MULLAWAY bumped heavily on the turn into the front straight resulting in these 3 greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground.  LADY TOY and CYNDIE’S MAGIC bumped entering the front straight resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced.  ZIPPING MAGGIE raced wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound HOUGENIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – 4th Grade 520m

YOGI BLUE was best to begin.  KING ELLIOT was marginally slow to begin.  CLASSY HAZE checked off the heels of YOGI BLUE and shifted out on the turn out of the front straight bumping BLUE SCORPION resulting in HOPE’S FANTASY shifting out across the heels of KING ELLIOT, resulting in THIS TIME REBA being forced to race wide on the turn.  CLASSY HAZE checked off the heels of BLUE SCORPION and shifted out on the turn into the back straight resulting in KING ELLIOT being forced out onto HOPE’S FANTASY and in turn onto THIS TIME REBA, resulting in HOPE’S FANTASY and THIS TIME REBA being forced to race extremely wide into the back straight.  CLASSY HAZE checked across the heels of HOPE’S FANTASY on the turn into the home straight, resulting in some inconvenience to THIS TIME REBA.

 

Race 9 – Best 8 520m

LINE UP BUOYS, KNAVE, SKUZI and KEYBOW were all marginally slow to begin.  SKUZI checked off the heels of GRAND ROMAN and lost ground in the front straight on the 1st occasion.  LE SIRENUSE and LINE UP BUOYS bumped on the turn out of the front straight.  GRAND ROMAN shifted out on the turn out of the front straight bumping KNAVE, who in turn caused interference to SKUZI.  KNAVE checked across the heels of GRAND ROMAN and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.  SKUZI raced wide in the home straight.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m

Even start with MPINGO slow to begin.  PEARLS ANGEL and RENOUF’S MAGIC bumped in the front straight on the 1st occasion.  FLASH ZOE, PEARLS ANGEL and RENOUF’S MAGIC bumped towards the end of the front straight on the 1st occasion, resulting in the 3 greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground.  PEARLS ANGEL lost considerable ground as a result.  SMASKNIAK GOLD and HAZY JANE bumped approaching the end of the front straight on the 1st occasion, resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced.  FLASH ZOE shifted across the heels of SMASHNIAK GOLD on the turn out of the front straight resulting in RENOUF’S MAGIC and MPINGO being forced to race wide.  FLASH ZOE checked off the heels of RENOUF’S MAGIC and lost ground on the turn into the back straight.  HAZE JANE checked across the heels of ANNIE BENZ in the home straight.  MPINGO raced wide in the back straight.  MPINGO raced wide in the home straight.
