GENERAL

 

The greyhound ART ON CONFUSION performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.10.

 

The greyhound FLICK PASS performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 395m in a time of 22.96.

 

The greyhound SHRUB’S CRUSADER performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.55.

 

The greyhound SMOKING PAWS performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.05.

 

The greyhound FAST NET performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 331m in a time of over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.41.

 

The greyhound EL CAPO performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.13.

 

Trainer Mr. J Ogden fined $100 under Rule 23 Failure to Scratch RADLEY’S JACKPOT.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 520m

TEXAS ROLL, GALI BAARRI DUK and MYSTERIOUS DREAM were slow to begin.  Entering the back straight OUR GOLD and MUMMA’S HOPE came together, resulting in MUMMA’S HOPE becoming unbalanced. Shortly after, TEXAS ROLL shifted out off the heels of MUMMA’S HOPE.  DOOLEY’S FIT and JUST BE GUN were tight passing the winning post.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 520m

SIR BLINK was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start SWEET DELIGHT and TILLY NO TAIL collided.  Approaching the 1st turn SWEET DELIGHT was tightened between TRANSMEDIA and DUSTY THURSDAY, became severely unbalanced and lost ground and in doing so caused tightening to SANRICO WENDY, UNIQUE RECALL and TILLY NO TAIL.  SANRICO WENDY, UNIQUE RECALL and TILLY NO TAIL all became severely unbalanced as a result and lost significant ground with SANRICO WENDY falling and taking no further competitive part in the event.

 

The greyhound SANRICO WENDY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

BRODIE’S MEMORY was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SURFING PRINCE, MERCEDES LASS, OCCY CUT BACK and BED OF NAILS were tight.  Approaching the 1st turn HUDSONS BREAK shifted out tightening LADY KIN, OCCY CUT BACK and SURFING PRINCE causing these greyhounds to become severely unbalanced and lose ground and OCCY CUT BACK fell and took no further competitive part in the event.  Entering the home straight BED OF NAILS improved onto the heels of BRODIE’S MEMORY and was hampered.

 

The greyhound OCCY CUT BACK was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – Novice 520m

SMART ILLUSION, CHIEF HASSLER and MEG’S MAGIC were best to begin.  Down the home straight on the 1st occasion RUSTY’S IMAGE and MEG’S MAGIC collided while ENDLESS SHADOW shifted in tightening MISTER PITT, GOLDBRAU and CHIEF HASSLER, causing CHIEF HASSLER and GOLDBRAU to lose ground.  Through the 1st turn MEG’S MAGIC and ENDLESS SHADOW collided.

 

The greyhound GOLDBRAU was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 520m

GLASS, HOUINDEED and WAIKARIE WARRIOR were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MAGICAL DUST and JUST LIKE TINA were tightened between MADE THAT WAY and RADLEY RETURN, both of which shifted.  Entering the 1st turn MADE THAT WAY shifted in tightening RADLEY RETURN. JUST LIKE TINA and RADLEY RETURN came together entering the back straight.  Down the home straight RADLEY RETURN improved onto the heels of WAIKARIE WARRIOR and was hampered.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 520m

BRAGA MCCOY was very slow to begin.  Shortly after the start TORQUE FLIGHT and PARCHMENT came together.  Down the home straight on the 1st occasion SERENE STAR and JAYDEN LASS were tight and bumping and JAYDEN LASS lost ground.  Through the 1st turn SERENE STAR and TORQUE FLIGHT improved onto the heels of HIGHLIFE and all 3 greyhounds became unbalanced.  Continuing through the turn SILKY OAK shifted in tightening SERENE STAR, TORQUE FLIGHT and HIGHLIFE and as a result SERENE STAR was forced to shift out and collide heavily with BRAGA MCCOY.  Both lost significant ground.

 

The greyhound SERENE STAR was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound TORQUE FLIGHT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BRAGA MCCOY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. B Yates in regards to the greyhound’s slow start from the boxes.  Mr. Yates stated to stewards that the greyhound is not typically a good box DOG, and can miss the start on occasions.  He also made reference to the greyhound’s recent spell and that the greyhound was having its 1st start at the track this evening.  Stewards noted the heavy interference suffered by the greyhound through the 1st turn in this event.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade 520m

BLACK CASPER was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SPRITELY LIL shifted in tightening CASH IN MOTION.  Entering the 1st turn MR. CODY collided with MASTER CODY and SPRITELY LIL which was following was severely inconvenienced.  MR. CODY and SPRITELY LIL lost significant ground in this incident.

 

The greyhound SPRITELY LIL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade 520m

TREBLIG BRAD was slow to begin.  Down the home straight on the 1st occasion CHARIOT’S OFFIAH, CARDIAC KING and MISS PITTY PAT raced tight and bumped.

 

The greyhound WHAT A THURSDAY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side achilles and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 9 – 0 – 3 Wins 600m

DOON GOES BOOM was best to begin.  Shortly after the start STILL COUNTING and PASSIVE PROTEST raced tight. Through the 1st turn STILL COUNTING shifted out checking PASSIVE PROTEST.  A short time after STILL COUNTING and PASSIVE PROTEST collided heavily and lost ground.  DOON GOES BOOM and MR. BRAND were tight entering the home straight.  Over the concluding stages DOON GOES BOOM and MR. BRAND raced tight and bumped.  Shortly after, MR. BRAND turned its head outwards towards FAST AS which was improving to its outside.

 

The greyhound PASSIVE PROTEST was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. P Field in regards to the greyhound’s below market expectation performance.  Ms. Field made reference to the severe interference suffered to the greyhound through the 1st turn and believed this put pay to the greyhound’s chances in this event.  Stewards accepted Ms. Field’s advice.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. N Thompson that the greyhound MR. BRAND would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 600m all tracks.

 

Race 10 – 4/5th Grade 395m

DIRTY DESSA, MR. BANDALARUS and LADY DAMA were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn REGATTA and BIG WINSTON raced tight and unbalanced and DIRTY DESSA which was following was inconvenienced.  Entering the back straight MR. BANDALARUS shifted out hampering REGATTA. Approaching the top turn REGATTA was tightened and lost ground as DIRTY DESSA improved to its outside.  Entering the home straight DIRTY DESSA improved onto the heels of LADY DAMA and became unbalanced.

 

The greyhound REGATTA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
