The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound GIVE YOU CREDIT performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 22.73.

 

Trainer Mr. W Elson was fined $50 under Rule 33 for non production of registration paper LAURYN’S BEST.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 520m

BELLA LEE and TRANSMEDIA were best to begin.  VEGAS BOUND was slow to begin.  Through the front straight on the 1st occasion BELLA LEE checked off the heels of TIBETAN DREAM, resulting in that greyhound stumbling and losing considerable ground.  Approaching the 1st turn LEEROY ROLLER checked off the heels of SHELIA DOOLEY, resulting to further interference to VELOCITY HILDA, TIBETAN DREAM and VEGAS BOUND.  Through the top turn SHELIA DOOLEY checked off the heels of LEEROY ROLLER.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Final 520m

OUR GOLD was best to begin.  DOOLEY’S FIT and SIR BLINK were slow to begin.  Through the front straight on the 1st occasion MUMMA’S HOPE checked off the heels of UNIQUE RECALL.  Turning into the home straight SIR BLINK and MUMMA’S HOPE made contact.

 

The greyhound UNIQUE RECALL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards questioned trainer’s representative Mr. P Quarrell in regards to the greyhound’s performance.  Mr. Quarrell stated that due to weather being cold he though the greyhound’s performance was below par.  Mr Quarrell further added that if anything was to come to light with the greyhound in the future he would advise the stewards.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

Even start.  Approaching the 1st turn SMART ILLUSION, MISS FELIX and BRODIE’S MEMORY all became inconvenienced when racing tight.  QUEENSRYCHE and DAD’S A LOONY who were following were also inconvenienced.  Through the 1st turn BRODIE’S MEMORY checked off the heels MISS FELIX.  Through the top turn DUSTY THURSDAY checked off the heels of MISS FELIX resulting in BRODIE’S MEMORY being inconvenienced.

 

Race 4 – 0 – 3 Wins 600m

EL CHAD and JEEPSTER were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BY THE GALLON checked off the heels of WHITE MARLIN resulting in BY THE GALLON losing ground.  Entering the front straight on the 1st occasion PASSIVE PROTEST checked off the heels of SAHARA GIRL.  In the back straight PASSIVE PROTEST checked off JEEPSTER, resulting in BY THE GALLON being inconvenienced.  Approaching the top turn EL CHAD faltered.  Through the top turn STILL COUNTING checked off the heels of SAHARA GIRL.

 

The greyhound BY THE GALLON was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards interviewed trainer’s representative Mrs. C Harman in regards to its seemingly disappointing performance.  Mrs. Harman stated that when BY THE GALLON started at Albion Park over the 600m on 6 July 2015 she advised stewards that the greyhound did fall and was of the opinion that the greyhound may need a freshen up and is going to try BY THEG ALLON at a different track other than Albion Park and will assess future performance on that.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 520m

DON’T DOUBLE UP and TOURMALINE were best to begin.  BEAT THE BULLET was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn SWITCH BLADE checked off the heels RUSTY’S IMAGE.  Shortly after DON’T DOUBLE UP checked off the heels of TOURMALINE resulting in further interference to SWITCH BLADE and BARCELLA being checked.  Entering the back straight BEAT THE BULLET and SWITCH BLADE raced tight, resulting in both greyhounds being inconvenienced.  In the back straight SWITCH BLADE checked off the heels of BEAT THE BULLET.

 

The greyhound SWITCH BLADE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 520m

Even start.  Through the front straight on the 1st occasion ALLEZ DE BRAVE checked off SPRING DREAM, resulting in ALLEZ DE BRAVE losing ground.  Through the 1st turn OXLEY RUBEY checked off BRAGA MCCOY.

 

The greyhound ALLEZ DE BRAVE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards interviewed trainer Mr. B Baker in regards to disappointing performance of his greyhound.  Mr. Baker stated to stewards that this was the greyhound’s second run for him. Mr. Baker further stated that the greyhound did receive 2 checks in the event but Mr. Baker none the less was still somewhat disappointed with the performance.  Mr. Baker advised stewards that if anything came to light in the near future he would advise stewards.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade 600m

PICTURE PEARCE and GLASS were slow to begin.  GRAND ROMAN raced wide throughout the back straight and also through the top turn.

 

The greyhound GRAND ROMAN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards interviewed Mr. J Conlon in regards to the somewhat disappointing performance of this greyhound which was a short priced favourite.  Mr. Conlon stated that GRAND ROMAN in his opinion may  have raced flat due to a strong performance the previous week .  Mr. Conlon was of the opinion now that the greyhound would be sent for a freshen up.  Mr. Conlon also stated which was evident on the stewards’ patrol film that the greyhound raced wider for the majority of the event.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade Final 520m

LAURYN’S BEST was best to begin.  PARCHMENT was slow to begin.  Through the front straight on the 1st occasion MANIVEK shifted in bumping MASTER CODY.  Through the 1st turn SHEZA KEEN SIZE shifted in checking LAURYN’S BEST.  Entering the back straight MSTER CODY shifted in checking PARCHMENT which lost ground.  Through the top SHEZA KEEN SIZE checked off SERENE STAR and lost ground.  SHEZE KEEN SIZE which was yielding ground in the home straight as a consequence made contact with CARDIA KING.

 

The greyhound SHEZ KEEN SIZE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – 3/4th Grade 520m

KNOCKER was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SPEED GUN, DON’T GO QUIETLY and WITH A GEE were all tightened for room between MUM’S A LOONY and YOUI.  Through the 1st turn HOUINDEED was taken wider on the track by YOUI which shifted out.  At this point SPEED GUN shifted out taking WITH A GEE wider.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m

MPINGO was slow to begin.  Through the front straight on the 1st occasion WALLY WHO CALLS shifted in checking MY BLACK LORIAN.  Approaching the 1st turn JAYDEN LASS checked off the heels of SWEET AS BETH.  Through the 1st turn PEARLS A PLENTY checked off JAYDEN LASS.

 

The greyhound MY BLACK LORIAN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound PEARLS A PLENTY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
