The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound JOHNATHAN’S HOPE performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 331m in a time of 18.82.

 

The greyhound LAKODA DAWN performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.82.

 

The greyhound GLORIOUS WINTER performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.93.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 331m

FEAR LADY was slow to begin.  SQUIRT ROSE HI was best to begin.  Entering the top turn DOLLY DENIM checked off the heels of FABULOUS KATIE, resulting in DOLLY DENIM losing significant ground.  BELLA CRUSADER and MAGIC MOVER who were following were also checked.

 

The greyhound DOLLY DENIM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 331m

EFFIE ROSE HI was best to begin.  Shortly after the start CLASSIC TERRA checked off the heels of CELESTIAL SELENE.  In the back straight PEPPA COLLECTOR checked off the heels of OKA’S ANGEL and lost ground.  Through the top turn KOKOMO BEACH shifted out taking SPECIAL VIRTUE extremely wide on the track, resulting in SPECIAL VIRTUE clipping the heels of KOKOMO BEACH losing ground becoming unbalanced and making contact with OKA’S ANGEL.  OKA’S ANGEL raced in restricted room throughout the home straight between CELESTIAL SELENE and KOKOMO BEACH.

 

The greyhound SPECIAL VIRTUE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Heat 3 331m

SPARKS FLY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start KUBU BEACH checked off the heels of MISHA.  KUBU BEACH and WALLACE raced wide throughout the top turn.

 

Race 4 – Novice 331m

GOLDEN LENNY and EDGE ‘EM OUT were both slow to begin.  Entering the top turn LATIN DANCE checked off the heels of WON MY HEART, resulting in LATIN DANCE losing ground.  BLACK STREET BOY, DAYSEAS COSMO and GOLDEN LENNY which were following were all checked as a result.  ROSABEL raced wide through the top turn.  BLACK STREET BOY and DAYSEAS COSMO bumped continuously throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound BLACK STREET BOY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LATIN DANCE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – Novice 331m

MISS RUCKUS and KNOW FOR ME were best to begin.  Shortly after the start IBRA CADABRA checked off the heels of KNOCK FOR ME.  Entering the top turn PERFECT POUT checked off the heels of LILLY’S LEGACY, resulting in PERFECT POUT losing ground.  TRIPLE CROWN LAD and SMASH TO FEAR were also checked as a result of this incident.

 

Stewards advised Mr. D McGrath the trainer of MISS RUCKUS not to interfere with the boxes after boxing his greyhound.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 395m

JESS NIRO was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn TURNAROUND TOBE, NOTORIOUS LADY, FULL OF ATTITUDE, BILLY’S CRUSADER and MISS SHADOW all raced tight.  In the back straight TURNAROUND TOBE checked off the heels of DAYSEAS ASTRA.  Through the top turn FULL OF ATTITUDE checked off the heels of JESS NIRO.  DAYSEAS ASTRA raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound TURNAROUND TOBE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 3/4th Grade 395m

SERIOUS JOY and BILL’S MAGIC were best to begin.  ALL RIVERS RUN was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn ZABALETA shifted in checking ALL RIVERS RUN and CANE D’ORO, resulting in ALL RIVERS RUN losing ground.  In the back straight EXPRESS LEO checked off the heels of ZABALETA.  Entering the top turn ZABALETA shifted in checking SERIOUS JOY.  At the same stage CANE D’ORO checked off the heels of MR SNEAKY SNEAKY, resulting in CANE D’ORO shifting out taking EXPRESS LEO wider on the track.

 

Stewards interviewed trainer Mr. J Ogden in regards to his greyhound SERIOUS JOY performance over the concluding stages.    After showing Mr. Ogden the stewards patrol film and considering the matter stewards believed that over the concluding stages BILL’S MAGIC shifted in bumping SERIOUS JOY continuously to the finishing line.  After viewing the stewards’ patrol film and considering the matter stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that SERIOUS JOY had made contact with BILL’S MAGIC and were of the opinion that the contact between the 2 greyhounds was from BILL’S MAGIC shifting in slightly.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade 395m

TRUE BLUE ICE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ARTISAN WARRIOR checked off the heels of TRACKIE CHAN.  Through the 1st turn ORE DE KAHN was tightened for room and lost ground between CUZZY BROMAC and AZARIAH.  Shortly after CUZZY BROMAC checked off the heels of AZARIAH.  Entering the home straight PASO APASO shifted out bumping SO LONELY, resulting in PASO APASO becoming unbalanced.  In the front straight SO LONELY checked off the heels of PASO APASO.  PASO APASO and CUZZY BROMAC bumped continuously throughout the home straight.  ORE DE KAHN and TRUE BLUE ICE bumped continuously throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound PASO APASO was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m

SIP OF SHIRAZ was best to begin.  TOKATEE KAHN and MY TINY SIZE were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn MY TINY SIZE was tightened for room and lost ground between TOKATEE KAHN and LUCY BENZ.  Entering the back straight LUCY BENZ shifted in checking TOKATEE KAHN.  UPNEY LANE raced wide throughout the back straight.

 

Stewards interviewed trainer Mr. D McGrath in regards to the improved performance of SIP OF SHIRAZ.  Mr. McGrath stated that he has been running SIP OF SHIRAZ down the straight at Capalaba and stated that this has benefitted the greyhound’s performance today.  Mr. McGrath also advised stewards that he has not supported any of his greyhounds this evening and he also advised steward that when the greyhound performed at Albion Park on 8 March 2015 did state that the greyhound showed early sectionals until receiving a check.  Stewards noted Mr. McGrath’s comments.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m

FANCY SCHMANCY after slipping and becoming extremely unbalanced at the start was extremely slow to begin.  MR. MARAUDER was also slow to begin.  Entering the back straight DAYSEAS DOLLY checked off the heels of QUEENIES BEST.  In the back straight QUEENIES BEST checked off the heels of SIR BAZZ ATTACK.  SHAYLOR BECKY raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound SHAYLOR BECKY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 395m all tracks prior to nominating.

 

The greyhound FANCY SCHMANCY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards interviewed trainer’s representative Mrs. S Bloomfield in regards to the greyhound’s performance.  Mrs. S Bloomfield advised stewards that if anything came to light in the near future she would advised them.
