GENERAL

 

The greyhound LAKODA ZIPPER performed a Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.32.

 

The greyhound READY MADE SIZE performed a Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.13.

 

The greyhound OLLIE BENZ performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 331m in a time of 18.93.

 

The greyhound BETTY’S GEM performed a satisfactory weight trial over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.10.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 395m

HYDROGEN was best to begin.  Entering the back straight PRINCESS CHARLEY checked off the heels of AMANDA RUMBLE.  Through the back straight POPULAR BELIEF checked off the heels of HYDROGEN and lost ground.  AMANDA RUMBLE which was following was inconvenienced.  Approaching the top turn POPULAR BELIEF and PRINCESS CHARLEY came together.  AMANDA RUMBLE was wide through the top turn.  Entering the home straight PRINCESS CHARLEY shifted out colliding with AMANDA RUMBLE.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 395m

Even start.  Shortly after the start CALL ME AUSSIE, PELVIS PRIZZLEY and HANNAH’S BELL were tight and unbalanced.  Leaving the 1st turn PELVIS PRIZZLEY improved onto the heels of HOT TAMIKA TRAIN causing this greyhound to fall and take no further competitive part in the event.  PELVIS PRIZZLEY was also inconvenienced as a result.

 

The greyhound HOT TAMIKA TRAIN was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 3 – Novice 395m

MASTER CORSAIR and VEE ROCKET were best to begin.  Shortly after the start TEJAY’S AWESOME and PRIM AND PRIZZY came together.  Passing the catching pen MAGIC MOUSSE improved onto the heels of ROYAL PRIZE and fell, taking no further competitive part in the event.  As a result SUMMER’S RACER and TEJAY’S AWESOME were inconvenienced and TEJAY’S AWESOME was forced to race extremely wide into the back straight.  Entering the back straight CARAMEL DELIGHT and ROYAL PRIZE came together and CARAMEL DELIGHT lost ground.  Approaching the top turn PRIM AND PRIZZY checked off the heels of TEJAY’S AWESOME.

 

The greyhound CARAMEL DELIGHT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound PRIM AND PRIZZY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

The greyhound MAGIC MOUSSE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 4 – Novice 395m

HOWARD HENO was best to begin with EDGE ‘EM OUT and JACKPOT’S GIRL slow.  Through the 1st turn JACKPOT’S GIRL and SHAYLOR CLEDUS were tightened between EDGE ‘EM OUT and MOKO ROSE HI and all 4 greyhounds became unbalanced with SHAYLOR CLEDUS and JACKPOT’S GIRL losing ground.  Entering the back straight DAYSEAS SPEEDY checked off the heels of SHEZA HUGGER.  Shortly after, MISS ELEGANCE and SHEZA HUGGER came together and SHEZA HUGGER lost ground with DAYSEAS SPEEDY which was following inconvenienced.  Approaching the top turn SHAYLOR CLEDUS improved onto the heels of SHEZA HUGGER inconveniencing this greyhound.  Entering the home straight DAYSEAS SPEEDY shifted out turning its head and marring the running of EDGE ‘EM OUT.  Approaching the winning post DAYSEAS SPEEDY marred the running of EDGE ‘EM OUT.

 

The greyhound DAYSEAS SPEEDY           was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer’s representative Ms. P Rigg that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 395m all tracks.

 

Race 5 – Maiden Final 395m

Even start.  Through the 1st turn CATWALK SHOW LEE, RUBY BELTAH and NEEDY AND GREEDY were tight and lost ground.  Entering the back straight MAGIC IN ME and SHAYLOR JOEL raced tight.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Final 395m

CUZZY BROMA was best to begin with TIGGERLONG BOO and CARDIAC KING slow.  Through the 1st turn FLYING RAVEN shifted in tightening TIGGERLONG BOO.  At the same time FLYING RAVEN and MAGIC ANGEL were tight.  Passing the catching pen TIGGERLONG BOO shifted out forcing CARDIAC KING wide.  Approaching the top turn FLYING RAVEN and SHANAE’S MAGIC were hampered on the heels of ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS.  TIGGERLONG BOO was wide through the top turn.  Through the top turn SHANAE’S MAGIC and ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS collided.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade 395m

WON MY HEART and MANYARA MISS were best to begin with SHE’S A FOX slow. Through the 1st turn MUMMA’S HOPE was tightened between SHAYLOR DOM and MACY DIAMONDS and lost ground.  BONTEMPELLI was wide through the back straight and top turn.  Approaching the top turn SWITCHIN’ SIDES was tightened between MUMMA’S HOPE and SHE’S A FOX.  MUMMA’S HOPE, WON MY HEART and MANYARA MISS bumped over the concluding stages.

 

When questioned on the seemingly poor performance of BONTEMPELLI, trainer’s representative Mr. P Quarrell advised stewards that the greyhound doesn’t typically perform at its best when not able to lead.  He further advised that he believed the greyhound being of a highly strung nature meant that the late race time slot was to its detriment.  Stewards noted these comments and advised Mr. Quarrell when nominating to express a preference for an earlier race.  Stewards also advised Mr. Quarrell that the greyhound’s performance was bordering on unsatisfactory and future performances would be monitored.

 

Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 3959m

TABASCO KAHN and DAYSEAS FREDDIE were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn BLUE STATUESQUE, CLOUD LAND, VICKI ROSE HI, OBIN TOMMY and LADY’S ANGEL were all tight and unbalanced.  Entering the back straight CLOUD LAND shifted out checking VICKI ROSE HI and both greyhounds lost ground.  Through the back straight BLUE STATUESQUE shifted out hampering TABASCO KAHN then proceeded to race wide.  Entering the top turn BLUE STATUESQUE and OBIN TOMMY collided and BLUE STATUESQUE lost ground.  Entering the home straight LADY’S ANGEL and OBIN TOMMY came together.  BLUE STATUESQUE was wide in the home straight.

 

The greyhound BLUE STATUESQUE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip support and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m

SHAYLOR BELLE was best to begin with FEAR THE RECALL and EL MUFASA slow.  Through the 1st turn SCORPION QUEEN checked off the heels of ZULU PRINCESS and collided with FEAR THE RECALL.  Entering the back straight ZULU PRINCESS improved onto the heels of YADA YADA YADA and both greyhounds were hampered.  EL MUFASA was wide through the home straight.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m

DIAMOND OSPREY was best to begin.  Through the 1st turn CHAMPS, CLASSIC TRADER and BREAKMAN BOY were all tight.  CLASSIC TRADER and BREAKMAN BOY lost ground.  TRAV’S MAGIC and TIGGERLONG SMILE which were following were severely inconvenienced.  BREAKMAN BOY was wide through the top turn.
