Race 2 FIST OF FIFTY’S Injured in running, back, 10 days
Race 8 BLACK PARADOX Injured in running, back, 7 days
IVORY, GUNNER SUCCEED and FOR ME were best to begin. Rounding the turn out of the back straight HIGHER LOVE shifted out and came into contact with SEDONA SKY causing both greyhounds to be checked. Approaching the turn into the front straight GUNNER SUCCEED shifted out and raced wide. Rounding the turn into the front straight FOR ME checked off the heels of CASEY UNDERCOVER and lost momentum.
SKITTISH EXPRESS, MORTAL WOMBAT, TATTOO and FOXIE UNDERCOVER were best to begin. FIST OF FIFTY’S was slow to begin. In the back straight MORTAL WOMBAT and SHAYLOE JOE collided. In the back straight MORTAL WOMBAT raced tight between SKITTISH EXPRESS and TATTOO which resulted in MORTAL WOMBAT being checked and losing some ground. SKITTISH EXPRESS raced wide rounding the turn out of the back straight. Approaching the turn into the front straight SCREAM JET checked off the heels of SKITTISH EXPRESS and lost momentum.
The
greyhound FIST OF FIFTY’S was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to
the back and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
Race 3 – Maiden Heat 3 331m
BRIGANTINE, SECRET SHAY ANNA and KASEY’S TURBO were best to begin. MILTON ROAD was tightened for racing room between BROWN MAGIC and ALOTA AMY shortly after the start which resulted in MILTON ROAD losing valuable ground. Approaching the turn out of the back straight BOGAN BABE clipped the heels of SECRET SHAY ANNA causing BOGAN BABE to shift out. As a consequence NEVER SATISFIED which was racing to the outside of BOGAN BABE shifted out and raced wide. Rounding the turn out of the back straight BROWN MAGIC raced wide. Rounding the turn out of the back straight MILTON ROAD raced wide.
The greyhound MILTON ROAD was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Trainer Mr. L Meteyard when questioned informed stewards that the greyhound had trialed on a number of occasions leading into tonight’s event however it had shown a tendency to race wide. He stated that it was his intention to re educate MILTON ROAD in an endeavor to straighten the greyhound up. Stewards noted Mr. Meteyard’s explanation.
Race 4 – Maiden Heat 4 331m
OLLIE ARMAGH which raced at Tweed Heads on 19 September 2015 underwent a pre race Veterinary examination and was passed fit to race.
GUNTER, MR. HESTON and GOOD BOY SEAMUS were best to begin. Shortly after the start TEXAS PILEDRIVER was tighten for racing room when between OLLIE ARMAGH and MOZZARELLA and lost ground as a consequence. In the back straight OLLIE ARMAGH and MOZZARELLA collided, resulting in OLLIE ARMAGH losing ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight MR. HESTON and GOOD BOY SEAMUS both raced wide. Rounding the turn into the front straight TEXAS PILEDRIVER raced wide.
The greyhound OLLIE ARMAGH was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 5 – Novice 331m
Even start. In the back straight GALLANTRY contacted the heels of JACK OSCAR which resulted in GALLANTRY losing ground. Rounding the turn out of the back straight FABULOUS WALL contacted the heels of CHERYL VALE causing both greyhounds to be hampered.
Race 6 – Novice 331m
Even start. Shortly after the start MAGIC MOVER and FABULOUS ABBY came together causing both greyhounds to be checked. In the back straight TWO UP shifted in and tightened the racing room of WITCHES RICHERS causing that greyhound to be checked. Shortly after WOOZIE DOOZIE shifted down and tightened the racing room of KNOCKA’S ASSET causing that greyhound to be checked. Rounding the turn out of the back straight TWO UP shifted out and made contact with WOOZIE DOOZIE causing that greyhound to be checked. Approaching the turn into the front straight WITCHES RICHERS and MAGIC MOVER collided causing both greyhounds to be checked.
Race 7 – 4/5th Grade 395m
PETITE FOX and ALOTA BALONEY were best to begin. LAKODA LOCHIE missed the start by several lengths. Shortly after the start BIG DAC, LIL’ BIT SPARKY, WALLY WHO CALLS and SOHO VANE all raced tight which resulted in LIL’ BIT SPARKY and WALLY WHO CALLS being checked and lose ground. Shortly after SOHO VANE shifted in and tightened the racing room of BIG DAC causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground. In the back straight ZIPPING MANI contacted the heels of LIL’ BIT SPARKY and lost some ground.
Mr. C Hamilton the trainer of BIG DAC explained that BIG DAC can race successfully over both the 395m and 520m. He stated that he does not trial the greyhound in between races and likes to race him fresh. He said that it will be his intention to race BIG DAC over the 520m when the distance of that race becomes available in his own grade however, when competing at the stronger meetings it is his intention to race the greyhound over the 395m. He further stated that he was satisfied with BIG DAC run in tonight’s event after considering the greyhound was interfered in the early stages. Stewards noted his explanation.
Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 395m
Even start. Shortly after the start there was a general tightening to all runners which resulted in SHANAE’S MAGIC, DELTA QUEEN, NOTORIOUS LADY and TARMAC BLACK all being checked and losing ground.
The
greyhound BLACK PARADOX was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the back
and was stood down for a period of 7 days.
Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m
SOMETHING FIZZY was best to begin. Rounding the turn into the back straight MAURY SPIRIT and MINERA SANDY were tightened for racing room which resulted in both greyhounds to be severally checked and to lose considerable ground.
The greyhound MAURY SPIRIT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m
Even start. Shortly after the start FANCY SCHMANCY and PROVIDENCE came together resulting in both greyhounds being checked and lose ground. Shortly afterwards MISS RUCKUS which was trailing these greyhounds was checked and lost valuable ground.
The greyhound MISS RUCKUS was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 11 – 5th Grade 395m
Even start. Shortly after the start SMASHNIAK CLASS and GENALAKY ROSE were tightened for racing room and both greyhounds lost ground. Shortly afterwards ADAM’S ANGEL was tightened for racing room and gave ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight SMASHNIAK CLASS clipped the heels of MISS MULLIGAN causing that greyhound to be hampered.
The greyhound MISS MULLIGAN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Trainer Mr. D McGrath explained that he was of the view that MISS MULLIGAN may have been affected after coming back to racing from being in season and it was his intention to spell MISS MULLIGAN in the near future. Stewards noted his explanation.
Race 12 – 5th Grade 395m
Even start. Shortly after the start STUART’S CHOICE and CUZZY BROMAC were tightened for racing room and lost some ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight IMA SUAREZ and STUART’S CHOICE came together. Approaching the turn out of the back straight CLASSY TOM shifted in and made contact with KINGSBRAE BUDDY causing both greyhounds to be severely checked and to lose valuable ground. Shortly afterwards WHAT MAGIC and PERUZZI collided with both greyhounds being severely checked and losing valuable ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight IMA SUAREZ shifted out and made contact with the heels of CUZZY BROMAC.
