The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

All races today were manually started.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 395m

FABULOUS HOPE, TIPPETT AND RUN, CASEY UNDERCOVER and MISHA were best to begin.  SANRICO WENDY and SPRITLY LADY were slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight CASEY UNDERCOVER was tightened for racing room.  In the back straight TIPPETT AND RUN checked off the heels of MISHA and was inconvenienced.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight CASEY UNDERCOVER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost considerable ground and as a consequence SANRICO WENDY which was trailing was checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight MISHA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly afterwards SEND A MESSAGE and MISHA came together causing both greyhounds to be hampered.

 

The greyhound CASEY UNDERCOVER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 395m

Even start.  OLLIE ARMAGH was slow to begin.  ROCKET’S ANGEL was tightened for racing room shortly after the start and lost some ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight OLLIE ARMAGH was tightened for racing room and lost some ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight ROCKET’S ANGEL shifted in and made contact with LEVEL MISS causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight BOEHRINGER and FABULOUS KATIE bumped.

 

The greyhound OLLIE ARMAGH was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FABULOUS KATIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Novice 395m

ANTI AMIGO, KOKOMO BEACH, SHAYLOR MONTANA and SHE’S SMART were best to begin.  ROYAL HOTEL was slow to begin.  ALBARTROSS was very slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SHE’S SMART stumbled and fell and was retired from the race.  IRISH MADAM was checked as a result of this incident.  Leaving the back straight ALBARTROSS checked off the heels of ROYAL HOTEL.  Rounding the turn into the front straight ALBARTROSS and ROYAL HOTEL bumped and both greyhounds lost ground.  MACIE’S DIAMONDS which was trailing these greyhounds was checked as a result of the incident.

 

The greyhound SHE’S SMART was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was humanely euthanised.

 

Race 4 – Novice 395m

Even start.  FABULOUS ABBY was slow to begin.  Turning into the back straight BLACKOUT OF BLUE was tightened for racing room and lost ground and as a consequence SHEZA HUGGER was checked.  SMART ILLUSION raced wide in the back straight.  In the front straight SMART ILLUSION turned its head and made muzzle contact with BLACKOUT OF BLUE.

 

Stewards advised trainer Ms. M Quarrell that the greyhound SMART ILLUSION would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 395m all tracks.

 

Race 5 – Maiden Final 395m

MITCHIE MADAM and LAKODA ZIPPER were best to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight GOLD DIVA checked off the heels of TRAV’S HOPE.  In the back straight PELVIS PRIZZLEY checked off the heels of SPEEDY’S MATE and lost some ground.  Rounding the home turn ETERNAL SPRING shifted out and checked off the heels of SPEEDY’S MATE.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Heat 1 395m

STUART’S CHOICE and MARINERS BEACH were best to begin.  Shortly after the start POWER JET shifted out and clipped the heels of STUART’S CHOICE, which resulted in POWER JET shifting out and making contact with MAXWELL RUMBLE, causing both greyhounds to be checked.  Approaching the turn into the back straight MUMMA’S HOPE was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Heat 2 395m

GOLD TOTAL and TIME FOR ABBY were best to begin.  Shortly after the start TEJAY’S AWESOME was tightened for racing room when DASHING DIME shifted in.  In the back straight DASHING DIME shifted out and made contact with the heels of BAZZA’S ISSUE which resulted in DASHING DIME being checked and losing ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight MINNIE’S HOPE shifted out and made contact with the heels of GOLD TOTAL, which resulting in MINNIE’S HOPE being checked.  BAZZA’S ISSUE was checked as a result of this incident.

 

Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 395m

Even start.  Shortly after the start OBIN TOMMY and WAZZ’S FANTASY were tightened for racing room and lost some ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SMASH EM UP checked off the heels of SHANAE’S MAGIC and lost momentum.  Leaving the back straight MIGHTY ROCKET shifted out which resulted in TARMAC BLACK racing wide and losing momentum.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade Heat 3 395m

Even start.  Shortly after the start TRU BLU DASH was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight TRU BLU DASH checked off the heels of TRACKIE CHAN and lost ground.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade Heat 4 395m

Even start with MY TINY SIZE slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the back straight PUMPY’S LUCK was tightened for racing room and lost some ground.  Shortly afterwards PUMPY’S LUCK made heavy contact with SPRING CALIBER causing that greyhound to be severely checked.  FEAR THE RECALL was hampered as a result of this incident.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight IBRA CADABRA checked off the heels of ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS and lost some ground.  REDDY RANGER was checked as a result of this incident.

 

The greyhound IBRA CADABRA was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side dew claw and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
