VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden 331m

LA CHASE RAPIDE, MONTEIRO and SOMERSET SUPREME were best to begin.  Leaving the back straight SOMERSET SUPREME shifted in and made contact with MONTEIRO, causing that greyhound to be checked, which resulted in FAMOUS REBEL coming into heavy contact with MONTEIRO causing both greyhounds to be severely checked and fall and take  no further competitive part in the race.  LONELY ALLOVER, BRIGANTINE and FOXIE UNDERCOVER were all severely checked as a result of this incident.

 

The greyhound MONTEIRO was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FAMOUS REBEL was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 1 331m

CELESTIAL SELENE was best to begin.  ZANI VALE and BENMESSO were slow to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight ROSCO BANG BANG checked off the heels of ALYSSA’S DREAM.  In the front straight BENMESSO and ALYSSA’S DREAM bumped.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Heat 2 331m

Even start.  In the back straight GAGAN LASSOO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost some ground.  On the turn out of the back straight ROMELDA clipped the heels of BEELYU ARMAGH causing both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

 

Race 4 – Maiden Final 331m

VELOCITY CLOVER and SHOUT ROYALE were best to begin.  MAGIC ESCAPE was slow to begin.  In the back straight WHERE’S DINO and RONIN were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight GOTCHA NOW was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight RONIN checked off the heels of MAGIC ESCAPE.

 

Race 5 – Novice 331m

SHAYLOR HARRY and GAMINE were best to begin.  ITALIAN MAGIC, CHERYL VALE and CASEY UNDERCOVER were slow to begin.  In the back straight PURELY PENNY checked off the heels of ITALIAN MAGIC then shifted in and made contact with the running rail and lost ground.

 

The greyhound ITALIAN MAGIC was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 6 – Novice 331m

DEE BEE TEN and MR. WOODS were best to begin.  SHAYLOR CHARLIE was slow out.  JACK OSCAR raced wide leaving the back straight.  MR. WOODS raced wide in the run to the finish.

 

Race 7 – 3/4th Grade 395m

ANJA was best to begin.  Leaving the back straight RITZA ROMAN shifted out which hampered SPIKE BENZ.  Shortly afterwards SPIKE BENZ clipped the heels of RITZA ROMAN.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade 395m

SUPA SMOOTH OSTI, ELITE PHOENIX and CITY BREEZE were best to begin.  Leaving the back straight WON MY HEART was tightened for racing room, checked and lost some ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight MINNIE’S HOPE shifted out which resulted in LITTLE ARCHER contacting its heels.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m

VEE ROCKET and HER STORY were best to begin.  RIDES ON SCOOTER and DIRTY DESSA were slow out.  Shortly after the start EDDIE WONG WAY, TRAV’S HOPE and ROCKING RAMPAGE all raced tight, resulting in each greyhound being checked to varying degrees and losing ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight ROCKING RAMPAGE checked off the heels of HER STORY.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 395

MAHAILIA was declared a late scratching at 7.39 pm acting on Veterinary advice when it was found to have a Paralysis tick. 

Even start.  Shortly after the start MUMMA’S HOPE was tightened for racing room, severely checked and lost considerable ground.  In the back straight MUMMA’S HOPE checked off the heels of TOKATEE KAHN, was checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight TOKATEE KAHN contacted the heels of DAVE’S DRINKING resulting in DAVE’S DRINKING being checked and losing ground.

 

Race 11 – 5th Grade Masters 1

Even start.  Rounding the turn into the back straight MISS SHADOW and MELODY SERENADE bumped resulting in both greyhounds to be checked.  Leaving the back straight DENZANO OSTI and TRUE MAGIC bumped.  MELODY SERENADE raced wide around the home turn.

 

Race 12 – 5th Grade Masters 2

ALOTA BALONEY and SHRUB’S CRUSADER were best to begin.  MALEFICENT was slow out.  Rounding the turn into the front straight BARRIE BOJANGLES shifted out and made contact with STRIKE A DEAL causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the back straight NOT WORTH IT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  STRIKE A DEAL was checked as a result of this incident.
