GENERAL

 

The greyhound BAZZA’S ISSUE performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.31 and is now cleared all tracks except Brisbane until after 10 November 2015.

 

The greyhound LEADFOOT EXPRESS performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.42.

 

The greyhound BLITZ ‘EM performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 395m in a time of 23.03.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 520m

ERIN’S OWN, GOOD GIRL JANICE and CABARET TONIGHT were best to begin.  Leaving the back straight KASSIE’S PICK and GOOD GIRL JANICE bumped.  Rounding the turn into the front straight KASSIE’S PICK and GOOD GIRL JANICE came together.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. J Aquilina that the greyhound KASSIE’S PICK would be charged under Rule 69 (B) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence plus injury, near side pin, 14 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 520m

CIGAR SAM was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SLEDGE HAMMER and CAN OF SPRITE came together and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight SLEDGE HAMMER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight SHARNA’S LOVE and MISS PEREGIAN came together resulting in SHARNA’S LOVE being severely checked and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight COLOSSAL SUZIE shifted out and made muzzle contact with SHARNA’S LOVE.  Rounding the turn into the front straight COLOSSAL SUZIE shifted out and made contact with SHARNA’S LOVE.

 

The greyhound COLOSSAL SUZIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Wall that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

STILL COUNTING, KAY LEAVY, TREVON’S FURY and RHYTHMIC EARNER were best to begin.  LATESHOW MATISSE, JUST BE GUN and EL MUFASA were slow to begin.  Leaving the front straight TREVON’S FURY clipped the heels of SEND A MESSAGE, was checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight KAY LEAVY clipped the heels of JUST BE GUN and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight SEND A MESSAGE and TREVON’S FURY bumped causing TREVON’S FURY to lose momentum.  Approaching the winning post JUST BE GUN was tightened for racing room, severely checked and lost considerable ground.

 

Race 4 – 0 – 3 Wins 600m

ALPHA MIMOS, EBONY’S SECRET and SIVAMET were best to begin.  SIR BLINK and MISTER MUSIC were slow out.  Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion ANGRY ALICE clipped the heels of SIVAMET causing it to be checked and race wide.  Shortly afterwards ALPHA MIMOS and SIVAMET bumped resulting in SIVAMET being checked and losing ground.  Entering the front straight on the 1st occasion WICKED QUEEN and SIVAMET bumped resulting in WICKED QUEEN being checked and losing momentum.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight SIR BLINK shifted out and hampered SIVAMET, which in turn shifted out and hampered MISTER MUSIC.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade Heat 1 520m

DENZEL BENZ, BLACK PARADOX and MERCEDES LASS were best to begin.  SUPER SOOK and SANDGROUNDER was slow to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight BLACK PARADOC and MERCEDES LASS were tightened for racing room, were checked and lost ground.  Leaving the front straight TEMNICK and MAXWELL RUMBLE bumped resulting in both greyhounds losing momentum.  Leaving the back straight SANDGROUNDER was tightened for racing room checked and lost ground.  Approaching the winning post over the later stages of the race OBSIDIAN turned its head and made muzzle contact with DENZEL BENZ.

 

Stewards advised trainer Ms. J Price that the greyhound OBSIDIAN would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 6 - 5th Grade Heat 2 520m

COUTA MODEL was best to begin.  Shortly after the start DOUBLE STORM was tightened for racing room and then checked over the heels of TARKS BLACK ROSE, resulting in the greyhound losing ground.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight TARKS BLACK ROSE shifted across the heels of SOME VALUE resulting in BRAGA MCCOY and MAGIC SPARKLE to be checked with all 3 greyhounds losing ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight DOUBLE STORM was tightened for racing room, severely checked which then in turn made heavy contact with MAGIC SPARKLE causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

Race 7 – 3/4th Grade 520m

BREMER, DON’T DOUBLE UP and MAGIC MAIDEN were best to begin.  HOUINDEED was slow to begin.

 

Race 8 – 4/5th Grade 600m

 

FROSTY JAY JAY and SHANIA SIND were best to begin. OKAY YETI was tightened for racing room turning out of the back straight and lost ground.

 

The greyhound SPRING BONANZA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer Mr. T Tzouvelis reported that the greyhound after being checked in the early part of the race lost in his view its winning chance as the greyhound races best when leading or in the front of the field.  He stated that SPRING BONANZA races best when leading and is not a strong chase when racing back into the field.  Mr. Tzouvelis’s comments were noted.

 

Race 9 - 5th Grade Heat 3 520m

FELIX EDDIE, CHEVALEIR NUIT and JAYDEN LASS were best to begin.  WHITE MARLIN was slow out.  Leaving the back straight FELIX EDDIE and JAYDEN LASS came together, resulting in FELIX EDDIE losing momentum.  Shortly after FORWARD PASS made heavy contact with the hindquarters of FELIX EDDIE resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lost considerable ground.  ALPHS THESEUS raced wide in the back straight and again rounding the home turn.

 

The greyhound FELIX EDDIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade Heat 4 520m

Even start.  Shortly after the start TEQUILLA SWINGER was tightened for racing room when STUART’S CHOICE crossed down and lost ground as a consequence.  Shortly after MY EYES ONLY shifted in and made contact with MACIE’S DINGO resulting in MY EYES ONLY being checked and losing ground.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight MY EYES ONLY, TEQUILLA SWINGER and JIMMY WHO all raced tight, resulting in all 3 greyhounds being checked and losing ground.  Leaving the front straight JIMMY WHO made contact with the hindquarters of ALPHA ACHILLES causing that greyhound to be checked and lose momentum.
