Race 12 WONDER BLUE Injured in running, off side pin, 28 days
STARJAMMER and DRAGON DUK were slow to begin. EARLY SHIRLEY, WILD ‘N’ RICH and IVORY were best to begin. Leaving the back straight STARJAMMER shifted out and contacted the heels of LA CHASE RAPIDE. Rounding the turn into the front straight STARJAMMER shifted out and made contact with LA CHASE RAPIDE causing both greyhounds to be checked.
The greyhound STARJAMMER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. P Noffke that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 331m all tracks.
LIMKO FLYER and OAKEY SMOKEY were best to begin. CLASSIC TOM was slow out. Leaving the back straight KELTIC CHIEF and JANIE GOTTA GUN came together resulting in JANIE GOTTA GUN begin checked and lose ground. Rounding the turn out of the back straight SHEZ A SONG clipped the heels of CLASSIC TOM when that greyhound shifted out. In the run to the finish JANIE GOTTA GUN shifted out and came into contact with CLASSIC TOM causing both greyhounds to be hampered.
Race 3 – Maiden Heat 3 331m
Even start. CELS BEAU and BROWN MAGIC were slow to begin. Shortly after the start BRIGANTINE was tightened for racing room, checked and fell losing considerable ground taking no further competitive part in the race. Approaching the turn out of the back straight PLAIN MAGIC shifted in making contact with CELS BEAU, which in turn made contact with MAX WEDGE causing all 3 greyhounds to be checked. Rounding the turn into the front straight PLAIN MAGIC made contact with the heels of CELS BEAU causing both greyhounds to be checked. Rounding the turn into the front straight BROWN MAGIC raced wide.
The greyhound BOKARM LACHIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
The
greyhound BRIGANTINE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near
fore foot and was stood down for a period of 7 days.
Race 4 – Maiden Final 331m
Even start. BANG ON TARGET was slow to begin. Shortly after the start INTERACTION and EYE SPYED YA were tightened for racing room, checked and lost some ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight EYE SPYED YA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.
The greyhound INTERACTION was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 5 – Novice 331m
SON OF PRADA, KIMAHRI RONSO and MR. WOODS were best to begin. SHAYLOR CHARLIE was slow out. Leaving the back straight MR. WOODS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight SON OF PRADA shifted out and made contact with KIMAHRI RONSO causing that greyhound to be checked. In the front straight MR. WOODS and SON OF PRADA collided.
Race 6 – Novice 331m
PINK SCISSORS, DEE BEE TEN and FABULOUS WALL were best to begin. BATTY LOVES BEER was slow out. Entering the back straight BATTY LOVES BEER clipped the heels of BLUE LEXUS. Leaving the back straight ELITE SOX shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of SHOUT ROYALE. Leaving the back straight FABULOUS WALL shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of DEE BEE TEN. Rounding the turn out of the back straight BLUE LEXUS raced wide. Rounding the turn into the front straight BATTY LOVES BEER raced wide.
Race 7 – 3/4th Grade 395m
PETITE FOX was best to begin. Shortly after the start OAKEY PARK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. In the back straight CUZZY BROMAC and LAURYN’S BEST raced wide. Approaching the winning post EVIE’S ANGEL and LAURYN’S BEST came together.
The greyhound LAURYN’S BEST was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 8 – Best 8 395m
Even start. CLASSY FLYER was slow to begin. Shortly after the start LADY’S ANGEL was tightened for room, shifted out and made heavy contact with the WAZZA KING causing both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. Leaving the back straight WAZZ’S FANTASY was tightened for racing room, checked and hampered. CLASSY FLYER gave ground in the back straight to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.
The greyhound CLASSY FLYER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. N Murdoch that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 395m all tracks prior to nominating. When questioned Mr. N Murdoch was of the view that the greyhound did not back up after trailing mid week.
Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m
Even start. LADY CORSAIR was slow to begin. Rounding the turn into the back straight SHE’S MY DARLING was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. BING VALE, CASEY UNDERCOVER and NANNY CHAR CHAR were checked as a result of this incident. In the back straight LADY CORSAIR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost considerable ground. Leaving the back straight LADY CORSAIR and BING VALE came together causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. In the front straight LADY CORSAIR and NANNY CHAR CHAR came together.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m
Even start. Shortly after the start MASTER CORSAIR, MR. MARAUDER, INNER WISDOM, MANYARA MISS and RIDES ON SCOOTER all raced tight resulting in each greyhound being checked to varying degrees. Leading into the back straight MANYARA MISS contacted the heels of MUMMA’S HOPE, slipped and fell taking no further competitive part in the race.
Race 11 - 4/5th Grade 395m
The track was downgraded to ‘Rain Effected”.
Even start. DIRTY DESSA was slow to begin. Approaching the turn into the back straight BOSANOVA and TRAV’S MAGIC collided causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground. Rounding the home turn DIRTY DESSA shifted out and clipped the heels of KING’S GEM.
When questioned Mr. G Boody the trainer of KING’S GEM explained that the greyhound was having its 1st start in 6 weeks and that it had only just come into his care. He stated that KING’S GEM had trilled well leading up to the race however, he was expecting the greyhound to improve with further racing. He further stated that whilst satisfied with its performance was he of the view that the track conditions being rain effected may have taken some part in the greyhound’s performance tonight. Stewards noted his explanation.
Race 12 – 5th Grade 395m
Even start. Shortly after the start KID SHELLEEN, WINGED ELITE and AL SENOR came together, resulting in each greyhound being checked and lose valuable ground. Shortly after NOT WORTH IT, WINGED ELITE and AL SENOR were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.
The
greyhound WONDER BLUE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off side pin and was stood down for a period of 28 days.
