The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound LEDARO DIDI performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.63.

 

The greyhound HEZA CLASSY SIZE performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 331m in a time of 19.51.

 

The greyhound BELLA LEE performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 31.99 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks except Brisbane until after 22 November 2015.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 395m

Even start.  DEAD END and PETE THE PANTHER were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BEST STRATEGY, AWESOME LARRY, HARA’S SMILE, LIMITLESS TALENT and FABULOUS CYNDIE all raced tight, checked to varying degrees.  Shortly after LIMITLESS TALENT, FABULOUS CYNDIE and AWESOME LARRY raced tight with these greyhounds being checked to varying degrees.  In the back straight DEAD END and HARA’S SMILE bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered.

 

When questioned Mr. B Kitchener trainer of DRAGON DUK explained that the greyhound races best when leading and in today’s event where the run presented itself early in the event DRAGON DUK was able to lead comfortably.  He further stated that DRAGON DUK races best when being backed up and it was his intention to race the greyhound consistently.  Mr. Kitchener further stated that he did not support the greyhound in today’s event and  had no explanation as to the market movement from odds of $31 on fixed Ubet tote to $14 with a starting price of $18.  Stewards noted his explanation however, advised Mr. Kitchener to expect the greyhound to race more consistently.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 395m

JANIE GOTTA GUN and FRENCH IDOL were best to begin.  JANIE GOTTA GUN and FRENCH IDOL collided shortly after the start HARA’S BRACELET was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight HARA’S BRACELET and SHAYLOR TOMMY bumped, resulting in HARA’S BRACELET being checked and lose ground.

 

When questioned Mr. B  Kitchener the trainer of CLASSIC TOM  advised that the greyhound had limited racing experience due to injury and the greyhound has limited ability.  He stated that he is considering the immediate racing future of CLASSIC TOM and may retire the greyhound, as he had no further explanation in regards to its performance in today’s event. The greyhound CLASSIC TOM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised Mr. B Kitchener that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, and must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 395m all tracks prior to nominating.

 

Race 3 – Novice 395m

Even start.  SOMERSET SUPREME and GEE DAFFY were slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight NICE GUNS MATE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight KIMAHRI RONSO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight GEE DAFFY raced wide.

 

Race 4 – Novice 395m

Even start. FABULOUS ABBY was slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight TELEX FINGERS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight FABULOUS ABBY checked off the heels of LEADFOOT JODY resulting in FABULOUS JODY shifting out and racing wide.  MAGIC IN ME was hampered on the turn into the back straight and raced wide for various stages of the event.  In the home straight LEADFOOT JODY and BING VALE collided.

 

The greyhound FABULOUS ABBY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – Maiden Final 395m

WINGS OF PERLITA was best to begin.  PELVIS PRIZZLEY was slow out.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SHAYLOR PAUL, SUPREME HUSTLER and HARA’S WHOSH all raced tight, resulting in each greyhound being checked and to lose ground.  Leaving the back straight PELVIS PRIZZLEY was momentarily tightened for racing room, checked and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight SHAYLOR PAUL and HARA’S WHOSH collided causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

Mr. B Woods the trainer of PELVIS PRIZZLEY explained that the greyhound is of some ability, however  it races with a lack of confidence and when it received some minor interference in the back straight he was of the view that this was a contributing factor to the greyhound’s performance in today’s event. Stewards advised trainer Mr. B Woods that the greyhound PELVIS PRIZZLEY would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 395m all tracks prior to nominating. 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 395m

GLENOIT and SIR BAZZ ATTACK were best to begin.  SHAYLOR MONTANA was slow out.  In the back straight OBIN TOMMY contacted the heels of SIR BAZZ ATTACK, shifted out and came into contact with STANDOUT causing that greyhound to be hampered.  In the back straight CARIBBEAN JET contacted the heels of SIR BAZZ ATTACK, was checked and lost ground.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Final 395m

MAHAILIA and ALBARTROSS were best to begin.  SPRING PLANET and PREMIER PLAYER were slow out.  In the back straight ROYAL PRIZE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SPRING PLANET raced wide over various stages of the event.  Entering the back straight SPRING PLANET shifted out which hampered PREMIER PLAYER.

 

Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 395m

Even start.  WAZZ’S FANTASY was slow out.  Approaching the turn into the back straight STRONG STANLEY, FASHION ADVICE, TARMAC BLACK and EVIE’S ANGEL all raced tight and were checked to varying degrees.  Leading into the back straight FASHION ADVICE checked over the heels of TARMAC BLACK and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight FASHION ADVICE clipped the heels of TARMAC BLACK.  Rounding the turn into the front straight TARMAC BLACK shifted out off the heels of CLASSY TOM hampered and lost ground.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 395m

MAIN STORY was best to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight BILL’S FANTASY, DIRTY DESSA, MELODY SERENADE, ANGEL MOON, BRALYN BAUPLE and MASTER CORSAIR all raced tight resulting in DIRTY DESSA, MELODY SERENADE and BRALYN BAUPLE being checked.

 

The greyhound BILL’S FANTASY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 395m

Even start.  Shortly after the start PERFECT POUT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  As a consequence TRAV’S MAGIC and CELESTIAL SELENE were checked and lost ground.  In the back straight BELLA BEE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  As a consequence LADY CORSAIR was checked, shifted out and made contact with PERFECT POUT, which was checked and lost ground. PERFECT POUT raced wide around the final turn.
