The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Novice 520m

TRIPUM was best to begin with the remainder evenly away.  Entering the turn in the back straight ERIN’S OWN and RUBY BELTAH collided causing these 2 greyhounds to take no further competitive part in the event.  Approaching the winning post TREVON’S FURY turned its head inwards and marred TRIPUM.

 

The greyhound RUBY BELTAH was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound ERIN’S OWN was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. D McGrath that the greyhound TREVON’S FURY would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 2nd offence, 3 months plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 2 – 5th Grade 520m

SIDBO was best to begin with RATATAT slowly away.  Soon after the start SIDBO and FIERY BENZ collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight FIERY BENZ was checked off the heels of DARCY’S CURSE.  In the back straight FIERY BENZ was wide.  On the top turn RATATAT checked off the heels of DARCY’S CURSE.  In the home straight DARCY’S CURSE was wide.

 

The greyhound DARCY’S CURSE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 520m

TOURMALINE was best to begin with RUM RAMBLER slowly away.  Soon after the start MACIE’S DINGO and FLASH HOUDINI collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight TASER SHOCK checked off the heels of GREAT KNOCK THAT.  In the back straight RUM RAMBLER was wide.  On the top turn and home straight GREAT KNOCK THAT was wide.

 

The greyhound GREAT KNOCK THAT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – 4/5th Grade 600m

MAGIC MAIDEN was best to begin with MINNIE IMPACT slowly away.  On the turn into the home straight on the 1st occasion MINNIE IMPACT checked off the heels of MAGIC KITCHEN.  In the home straight APATITE was wide.  Entering the back straight NO CALLARATAH and NOT LIKE TOMMY collided.  Entering the home straight NOT LIKE TOMMY turned its head inwards and marred APATITE causing APATITE to drop back checking GOLFINY AMY.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Dempsey that the greyhound NOT LIKE TOMMY would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 520m

BIRKDALE BEAUTY was best to begin with JIMMY BRUTE stumbling soon after the start.  Entering the turn out of the home straight TARKS BLACK ROSE and GUN LEGACY collided causing GUN LEGACY to check ABBY’S MAGIC.  In the back straight COLD HARD TRUTH was wide.  In the home straight TARKS BLACK ROSE and COLD HARD TRUTH were wide.

 

The greyhound TARKS BLACK ROSE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards interviewed trainer Mr. P Ruetschi who advised he was disappointed in the run.  The greyhound got a few checks and lost momentum and that he is going to continue on with the greyhounds’ preparation.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 520m

MACNIVEK was best to begin with GEORGINA slowly away.  Soon after the start HOPPING HOUDINI and ARE ATE collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight HOPPING HOUDINI and SENOR’S MISTRESS collided.  In the back straight JOHNATHAN’S HOPE was wide.  In the home straight LAURYN’S BEST and GEORGINA were racing tight and bumping.

 

The greyhound JOHNATHAN’S HOPE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

Race 7 – 3/4th Grade 520m

BIG DAC and PIKLET were best to begin with HOUINDEED and SIMPATICO slowly away. On the turn out of the home straight GENERAL CLOUD, CRACKING CAZA and SIMPATICO all collide. Entering the back straight CRACKING CAZA and SIMPATICO collide. In the back straight GENERAL CLOUD was wide. Entering the top turn SIMPATICO checked off the heels of HOUINDEED. Entering the home straight PIKLET and SERENE STAR raced tight and bumping.

 

The greyhound SIMPATICO was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – 1/2nd Grade 520m

Even start.  Soon after the start HOUGENIE shifted out checking INSPECTOR CLOUD who in turn checked GRAND ROMAN and LADY ABIGAIL with MINCIN’ MACHINE and CASH IN MOTION colliding soon after.  On the turn out of the home straight INSPECTOR CLOUD and LADY ABIGAIL collided.  Entering the back straight GRAND ROMAN and MINCIN’ MACHINE collided causing MINCIN’ MACHINE to check LADY ABIGAIL.  Entering the top turn GRAND ROMAN checked off the heels of LADY ABIGAIL.  In the home straight INSPECTOR CLOUD was wide.

 

The greyhound MINCIN’ MACHINE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m

SHANAE’S MAGIC was best to begin with the remainder evenly away.  Soon after the start HEIDI BENZ and IMA COWBOY collided.  On the turn out of the home straight SMASHNIAK GOLD and MY SPRITE collided.  In the home straight BEAR FOR BREAKY was wide.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m

EMBELLISH was best to begin with HEAD SHY and BLUE HOUDINI slowly away.  On the turn out of the home straight HEAD SHY and BLUE HOUDINI were wide.  In the back straight LACHIE LYNDAN was wide.  In the home straight LACHIE LYNDAN was wide.
