Trainer Mr. B Baker explained that the greyhound races best when leading. After showing early speed it collided with FROSTY JAY JAY leaving the turn out of the back straight and he was of the view that the greyhound may thereafter been effected by that collision and he was somewhat disappointed with the way it finished the race off. He stated that he FROSTY JAY JAY was stepping up in distance in tonight’s race which ay have effected its performance and he may reconsider restricting his races to the 520 meters. He further stated that it would be his intention to freshen the greyhound up before return to racing. The greyhound IRINKA SHANE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found, Mr. B Baker’s explanation was noted.

Mr. M Zammit the trainer’s representative was questioned in relation to the performance of ALPHA THESEUS in tonight’s event. Mr. Zammit explained that the greyhound had drawn box 7 and has a tendency to race wide in its races. He stated that after being tightened for racing room in the early stages of the race and checked on the turn out of the front straight he was satisfied with the greyhound’s performance in that it finished in fifth position beaten 6m. He further stated that whilst he was of the view that ALPHA THESEUS had a very good chance in tonight’s event he did not support the greyhound as he was of the opinion that the $1.50 fixed price tote on Ubet was not attractive to him in tonight’s race. Phone evidence was taken from RQ betting Steward Mr. Mark Heffernan in regards with any activity through betting agencies throughout Australia. ALPHA THESEUS was examined by the Club’s Veterinarian who reported to have found no obvious abnormalities. After considering all the evidence Mr. M Zammit’s explanation was noted.
