VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Novice 520m

FRENCH IDOL and RESHUFFLE were best to begin with DON’T KNOCKA TOM and BLUE POINTER slowly away.  Soon after the start FABULOUS CYNDIE shifted out checking PANAMERA and FLYING CIRCUS.  On the turn out of the home straight FABULOUS CYNDIE checked off the heels of TIJUANA TEMPO.  Entering the back straight RESHUFFLE skimmed the running rail.  In the back straight TIJUANA TEMPO was wide.  Entering the top turn RESHUFFLE and TIJUANA TEMPO collided.

 

The greyhound RESHUFFLE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  The connections of the greyhound stated that the greyhound even though had a few checked, only having its 3rd start had trouble negotiating the field.

 

Race 2 – 5th Grade 520m

BLUE TARTAN, SHORT CAKE CLOUD and FLASH HOUDINI were best to begin with SUPER SOOK slowly away.  On the turn out of the home straight SUPER SOOK checked off the heels of TWEED CHIC.  Entering the turn out of the back straight SHORT CAKE CLOUD checked off the heels of BLUE TARTAN causing SHORT CAKE CLOUD to falter.  Entering the turn into the home straight BLUE TARTAN and FLASH HOUDINI were racing tight and bumping.  Approaching the winning post ROSDUE DYNAMO and SHORT CAKE CLOUD collided.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 520m

OXLEY RUBEY and GRIN AND WIN were best to begin with GUN LEGACY and WAR PICTURE slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight OXLEY RUBEY and RADLEY RETURN collided.  On the turn out of the home straight GUN LEGACY and WAR PICTURE collided.  In the back straight RADLEY RETURN was wide.  Entering the turn out of the back straight MADE THAT WAY checked off the heels of OXLEY RUBEY.  In the home straight CYNDIE’S MAGIC was wide.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade 520m

RICH ‘N’ WILD was best to begin with MISS GLENREAGH and SPRING BEAUTY slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight DOWN THEY CAME shifted out checking GOLD ZIVA, MADAM MEDUSA and SMASHNIAK CLASS.  Entering the back straight SPRING BEAUTY checked off the heels of MADAM MEDUSA.  On the top turn GOLD ZIVA checked off the heels of FABULOUS BILL.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 520m

BIG DAC and HEIDI BENZ were slow to begin with HOUINDEED slowly away.  On the turn out of the home straight BIG DAC and BREMER collided.  On the top turn BREMER and GEORGINA collided causing GEORGINA to drop back checking WAIKARIE MAGIC.

 

The greyhound WAIKARIE MAGIC was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 600m

KNIGHTS TEMPLAR and SPRING BONANZA were best to begin with SMASHNIAK GOLD slowly away.  Entering the turn into the home straight on the 1st occasion SMASHNIAK GOLD checked off the heels of MAGIC SPARKLE.  In the home straight PIKELET was wide.  Entering the home straight MINNIE IMPACT and SPRING BONANZA were racing tight and bumping forcing MINNIE IMPACT wide into the home straight.

 

The greyhound SMASHNIAK GOLD was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer Mr. G Kadniak stated that the greyhound had to lead otherwise is not competitive in the event.

 

Race 7 – 4th Grade 520m

MACNIVEK was best to begin with PICTURES PEARCE slowly away.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion SERENE STAR and BUTCHULLA BOY collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight SIMPATICO and VEUVE collided.  On the turn out of the home straight SIMPATICO and SERENE STAR collided.  Entering the back straight PICTURES PEARCE checked off the heels of VEUVE.  Entering the home straight BUTCHULLA BOY and SIMPATICO collided with GO WILD SHAZ wide into the home straight.

 

The greyhound GO WILD SHAZ was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SIMPATICO was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and near side hock was humanely euthanised.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 520m

INSPECTOR CLOUD and SWAP YA were best to begin with GENERAL CLOUD slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight SWAP YA and FLASH  REALITY collided with GENERAL CLOUD wide on the turn.  Entering the back straight INSPECTOR CLOUD and SWAP YA collided.  On the turn into the home straight CERVELO and GENERAL CLOUD collided.

 

The greyhound GENERAL CLOUD was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m

SHANAE’S MAGIC was best to begin with HEAD SHY slowly away.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion BIRKDALE BANDIT checked off the heels of SHEZA KEEN SIZE.  Entering the turn out of the home straight MR. SLY and BIRKDALE BANDIT collided.  On the turn out of the home straight HEAD SHY and COAL CHEETAH collided.  Entering the back straight COAL CHEETAH eased and took no further part in the event.  In the back straight and top turn HEAD SHY was wide.  Entering the home straight MR. SLY and BIRKDALE BANDIT collided with HEAD SHY wide into the home straight.

 

The greyhound COAL CHEETAH was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side hock and was stood down for a period of 12 weeks.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m

LORIAN ADITI and EYES ON ME were best to begin with DARCY’S CURSE slowly away.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion DARCY’S CURSE and PLUM JAM collided.  On the turn out of the home straight FEISTY FIE and OKA’S ANGEL collided.  In the back straight MOCHA LATTE and FEISTY FIE collided.  On the top turn DARCY’S CURSE checked off the heels of PLUM JAM causing DARCY’S CURSE to falter.  Entering the home straight PLUM JAM and OKA’S ANGEL collided.
