stewards’ trial 395m all tracks
The greyhound OBSIDIAN performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.61 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.
Even start with ALPHA POSEIDON and BLACKWOOD BURST slowly away. Soon after the start LADY PERLITA crossed checking SIMPLY MAGIC and GLEBE KID causing GLEBE KID to check off the heels of SIMPLY MAGIC, who in turn faltered checking KIALLA. In the back straight BLACKWOOD BURST checked off the heels of SHAYLOR SKEETER forcing SHAYLOR SKEETER wide. On the top turn ALPHA POSEIDON was wide. In the home straight GLEBE KID was wide.
The greyhound ALPHA POSEIDON was
vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side wrist and was stood
down for a period of 10 days.
NAOMI ROSE HI was best to begin with the remainder evenly away. Entering the back straight MISS CORELKO checked off the heels of GOLD STEEL causing MISS CORELKO to race wide into the back straight. Entering the turn out of the back straight PANTZ WITH ANTZ and SMOKE AND MIRROR collided. On the top turn MISS CORELKO was wide. Entering the home straight PANTZ WITH ANTZ and SMOKE AND MIRROR collided with PANTS PIRATE wide in the home straight.

Even start with CLAYBRO NINJA slowly away. Entering the back straight MACY DIAMONDS, FOXIE UNDERCOVER and HARA’S HAWK collided causing FOXIE UNDERCOVER to check HARA’S HAWK, causing that greyhound to drop to the rear. Entering the turn out of the back straight MACY DIAMONDS checked FOXIE UNDERCOVER, causing FOXIE UNDERCOVER to drop back sharply. In the home straight CATWALK SHOW LEE was wide.

Even start with WONDER BLUE slowly away. Soon after the start IMPOSSIBLE and CYNO KING collided. Entering the back straight HARA’S BLAZE and SKITTISH EXPRESS collided causing SKITTISH EXPRESS to check LAND LORD’S DIP, who in turn checked IMPOSSIBLE and FABULOUS ABBY. In the back straight SKITTISH EXPRESS was wide. Entering the top turn HERE’S CHEERS checked off the heels of LAND LORD’S DIP causing LAND LORD’S DIP to check HARA’S BLAZE, forcing HERE’S CHEERS wide. Entering the home straight CYNO KING and HERE’S CHEERS collided.

The greyhound LA CHASER RAPIDE was vetted and passed fit to race. The trainer Mr. M. James was made aware of the fact that the greyhound LA CHASER RAPIDE had raced on six occasions in fourteen days. He was reminded by stewards of his obligation to animal welfare issues. Mr. James told stewards that he would be more careful with his nominations.
REFUND REQUIRED and POPULAR BELIEF were best to begin with SHAYLOR PAUL slowly away. Entering the back straight WHAT A GUN checked off the heels of MISTER DEBONAIR with SHAYLOR TOMMY wide in the back straight. Entering the top turn POPULAR BELIEF checked off the heels of SHAYLOR TOMMY causing SHAYLOR TOMMY to drop back checking SHAYLOR PAUL forcing SHAYLOR PAUL wide. Entering the home straight SHAYLOR PAUL and POPULAR BELIEF were racing tight and bumping. In the home straight WHAT A GUN was wide.

BOSANOVA and GOLD TOTAL were best to begin with FABULOUS KATIE and TOKATEE KAHN slowly away. Soon after the start RICOCHET ROSE checked off the heels of BOSANOVA. In the back straight GOLD TOTAL was wide. Entering the home straight RICOCHET ROSE and DAVID’S MEMORY collided. In the home straight ITALIAN MAGIC was wide.

vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was
stood down for a period of 21 days.

REGATTA and WESTERN ROSE were best to begin with HARDLINER slowly away. Soon after the start MAHAILIA checked off the heels of GEMMA DUAL. Entering the back straight REGATTA and WESTERN ROSE collided. In the back straight HARDLINER and REGATTA collided causing REGATTA to check OBIN TOMMY. In the back straight HARDLINER was wide.
The greyhound REGATTA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start with ERIC ROSE HI and ZIPPING MANI slowly away. Soon after the start SWITCHIN’ SIDES and SHAYLOR EVELYN collided causing SWITCHIN’ SIDES to check ERIC ROSE HI causing that greyhound to check BRAE HEART. On the turn into the back straight BRAE HEART and ZIPPING MANI collided. Entering the top turn BRAE HEART and ZIPPING MANI collided. Approaching the winning post STANDOUT turned its head outwards failing to make contact with REDDY RANGER.
The greyhound BRAE HEART was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

LITTLE RAMONA was best to begin with SHAYLOR BELLE slowly away. Soon after the start FABULOUS WALL, OUR MAGIC BOY and OAKEY SMOKEY all collided. Entering the back straight OUR MAGIC BOY checked off the heels of FABULOUS WALL causing FABULOUS WALL to check NINJA LLOYDIE, with OUR MAGIC BOY dropping to the rear. In the back straight SHAYLOR BELLE was wide. Entering the home straight SHAYLOR BELLE checked off the heels of MIRANDA ROSE HI.
After the running of this race the connections of LITTLE RAMONA stated that the greyhound was not supported by them and the greyhound has been trialling well and they expected to do better this week.
The greyhound NINJA LLOYDIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
