The kennels were held open for an extra 15 minutes due to a number of trainers having traffic issues.
FABULOUS BILL and SHEZA KEEN SIZE were best to begin with KOORINGA PETE and MUD CAKE CLOUD slowly away. Entering the turn out of the home straight COSTA SEA checked off the heels of KOORINGA PETE forcing COSTA SEA wide on the turn. Entering the back straight FABULOUS BILL checked of the heels of FLASH ZOE. Entering the turn out of the back straight FLASH ZOE checked off the heels of GODL ZIVA causing FLASH ZOE to check FABULOUS BILL. On the turn out of the back straight SWEET AS BETH checked off the heels of FLASH ZOE. In the home straight KOORINGA PETE was wide.
VELOCITY SHIRL was best to begin with TRAV’S MAGIC slowly away. Soon after the start SANNETTE CHOP checked off the heels of VELOCITY SHIRL causing VELOCITYS SHIRL to check HER’S NMOT HIS causing these 2 greyhounds to drop to the rear. On the turn out of the home straight MADE THAT WAY and BLUE TARTAN collided causing BLUE TARTAN to falter checking DOOGAL and SANNETTE CHOP. Entering the back straight SANNETTE CHOP checked off the heels of TRAV’S MAGIC. In the back straight DOOGAL was wide. In the home straight DOOGAL was wide.
The greyhound DOOGAL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 3 – 5th
Grade Heat 3 520m
SHORT CAKE CLOUD was best to begin with the remainder evenly away. Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion GEORGE GALLON shifted out checking ALPAH THESEUS and BREMER, causing ALPHA THESEUS to drop to the rear. On the turn out of the home and back straights ALPHA THESEUS was wide. On the top turn and home straight ALPHA THESEUS was wide.
The greyhound ALPHA THESEUS was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards questioned trainer’s representative Mr. M Zammit. Mr. Zammit advised the kennel didn’t support the greyhound and that the greyhound is coming back from 600m, a wide runner and had a bad check in the straight and they will give the greyhound an ease up.
Race 4 – 5th
Grade Heat 4 520m
I’M I SAID was best to begin with HOUINDEED slowly away. Soon after the start GUN LEGACY and TOBIAS RUMBLE collided. Entering the turn out of the home straight MESSIDONNA CLOUD and I’M I SAID were racing tight and bumping. On the turn out of the home straight GUN LEGACY checked off the heels of TOBIAS RUMBLE. In the back straight GUN LEGACY was wide with I’M I SAID dropping to the rear. Entering the home straight HOUINDEED checked off the heels of PREMIER JET with MESSIDONNA CLOUD and GUN LEGACY wide.
The greyhound MESSIDONNA CLOUD was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
The greyhound I’M I SAID was vetted and found
to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period
of 10 days.
Race 5 – Middle Distance

OXLEY RUBEY and PIKELET were best to begin with CYUNDIE’S MAGIC slowly away. Entering the turn into the home straight on the 1st occasion CRACKING CAZA and MARLUCA collided. In the home straight KNAVE was wide. Entering the turn out of the home straight on the 1st occasion KNAVE checked off the heels of CHEEKY CHANCE. In the back straight KNAVE was wide. Entering the top turn MARLUCA was wide. Entering the home straight FAR FROM FEAR checked off the heels of KNAVE. Approaching the finishing line CHEEKY CHANCE and CYNDIE’S MAGIC collided.
Race 6 - Middle Distance
Challenge Heat 2 600m
APATITE was best to begin with the remainder evenly away. Soon after the start MAGIC KITCHEN and KNIGHTS TEMPLAR collided. Entering the home straight on the 1st occasion KNIGHTS TEMPLAR and SMASHNIAK GOLD collided. In the home straight HOUGENIE was wide. In the back straight HOUGENIE was wide. Entering the top turn SMASHNIAK GOLD checked off the heels of KNIGHTS TEMPLAR. In the home straight HOUGENIE was wide.
Race 7 – 4th Grade 520m
HEIDI BENZ was best to begin with BLUE SCORPION slowly away. Soon after the start SPRING BONANZA shifted out colliding with KULU CHA CHING. Entering the turn out of the home straight BLUE SCORPION and KULU CHA CHING collided causing BLUE SCORPION to hit the running rail. Entering the back straight BLUE SCORPION checked off the heels of KULU CHA CHING. Entering the home straight HEIDI BENZ and ABBY’S MAGIC collided.
The greyhound BLUE SCORPION was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 8 – Best 8 520m
Even start with YOUI and INSPECTOR CLOUD slowly away. Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion FLASH REALITY shifted out checking MACNIVEK. Entering the turn out of the back straight CERVELO and CASH IN MOTION collided causing CASH IN MOTION to check off the heels of INSPECTOR CLOUD, causing INSPECTOR CLOUD to falter. On the turn out of the home straight INSPECTOR CLOUD and FLASH REALITY collided. Entering the back straight INSPECTOR CLOUD and CASH IN MOTION collided. In the back straight SWAP YA was wide. In the home straight SWAP YA was wide.
The greyhound CASH IN MOTION was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 9 – 5th Grade Heat 5 520m
TARKS BLACK ROSE was best to begin with HOUDINI HI and ALPHA ADONIS slowly away. Entering the turn out of the home straight SWIFT EXIT and LORIAN ADITI collided causing LORIAN ADIT to drop back checking HOUDINI HI with ALPHA ADONIS wide on the turn. In the back straight ALPHA ADONIS was wide. On the top turn CHEEKY FREYER was wide. In the home straight ALPHA ADONIS was wide.
Race 10 – 5th Grade Heat 6 520m
The race was delayed for an interstate harness event.
CREATE HAVOC and PUMA CLOUD were best to begin with CARDIAC KING slowly away. Approaching the turn out of the home straight CREATE HAVOC checked off the heels of PUMA CLOUD with NAPALM checking off the heels of FLASH HOUDINI. On the turn out of the home straight MADAM MEDUSA checked off the heels of CREATE HAVOC. Entering the back straight ROSABEL and MADAM MEDUSA collided. In the back straight NAPALM checked off the heels of ROSABEL. In the home straight RUM RAMBLER was wide.
