The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound AUNTY FEAR performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 32.78 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 520m

Even start.  Shortly after the start GOLD DIVA shifted out which hampered UNIQUE KALEESI and GUY FAWKES.  Leaving the front straight GUY FAWKES and BISHOP’S LASS collided resulting in BISHOP’S LASS being checked and losing ground.  In the front straight HAZY GAZE and BISHOP’S LASS came together.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 520m

Even start.  Shortly after the start KIALLA and HEALTH RETREAT collided causing both greyhounds to be checked.  Shortly after MISTER DEBONAIR and BLISS BOMB were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight MISTER DEBONAIR checked over the heels of HARA’S WHOSH, shifted out and made heavy contact with AMELIA STAR causing both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight HEALTH RETREAT made heavy contact with the hind quarters of BLISS BOMB causing both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose ground.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

MIDNIGHT CHASE and PREPARE YOURSELF were best to begin.  SPECIAL VISION and CAPTAIN THURSDAY were slow out.  In the front straight on the 1st occasion LUNA PARK and TWEED DANCER collided resulting in LUNA PARK being checked taking no further part in the race.

 

The greyhound LUNA PARK was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. C Chandler that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 4 – 3/4th Grade 520m

SWEET AS BETH was best to begin.  Leaving the front straight I’M ALL STRIPES and DARCY’S CURSE came together causing both greyhounds to be checked.  COBBER IN MOTION was hampered as a result of this incident.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 600m

Even start.  ALPHA ARES and IRINKA SHANE were slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion HESA BIRD was tightened for racing room, severely checked, shifted out and made heavy contact with SANNETTE CHOP, which in turn shifted out and made heavy contact with ALPHA ARES causing all 3 greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.

 

The greyhound IRINKA SHANE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Heat 1 520m

WINGES OF PERLITA was best to begin.  SWITCHIN’ SIDES and MISS GLENREAGH were slow to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight AWESOME WILLS and WINDORAH JACK came together.

Approaching the turn into the back straight AWESOME WILLS gave ground quickly. The greyhound AWESOME WILLS was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. A Stevens that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Heat 2 520m

CURIOUS STYLE, LADY PERLITA and KIRI BELLE were best to begin.  The muzzle on BRAE HEART displaced shortly after the start.  Trainer Ms. M Johnson was instructed to take the necessary action to prevent a reoccurrence.  Leaving the front straight KEWIN UP checked off the heels of BRAE HEART and was checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight LADY PERLITA and EL CHAD collided.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade Heat 3 520m

BIG EASY RED and LITTLE RAMONA were best to begin.  LET’S GO SNOW and COSMIC MARLOW were slow out.  Leaving the front straight BIG EASY RED and LITTLE RAMONA bumped.  Entering the back straight LET’S GO SNOW checked over the heels of LITTLE RAMONA and was hampered.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade Heat 4 520m

HOOP DREAMS was best to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight GEORGE GALLON and CABARET TONIGHT bumped.  Shortly after the start COPPER LIGHT and SEND A MESSAGE were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight COPPER LIGHT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

Race 10 – 4/5th Grade 395m

Even start.  Shortly after the start DIAMOND OSPREY,OBIN TOMMY,SPANKY’ LEGEND were  tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leading into the back straight FABRICATED was tightened for racing room, and made heavy contact with the hindquarters of SIP OF SHIRAZ, causing that greyhound to be checked and fall.  FABRICATED and MACARENA MISS were severely checked as a consequence and lost considerable ground.

 

The greyhound SIP OF SHIRAZ was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
