VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

 

Race 1             SHILA MARLOW

 

SUSPENSIONS

 

Race 4             bella crusader                        Injured in running, off side hock, humanely euthanised

 

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden 460m

Shilas marlow missed the start, clear after the jump, around turn 1 honey maree, dusty slim and galway thunder were tight and dusty slim was squeezed out, clear around the catching pen corner but down the back straight high lee blue was running on the high side of the track.  Passed the 550m boxes and onto the finish straight lowanna and honey maree were wide.

 

After the race shilas marlow was sent to the vet and found to be suffering from heat exhaustion, no penalty.

 

Race 2 – Novice 460m

Even start except for Bella sprite who jumped late, field was clear after the jump.  Around the first turn the entire field tightened and bunched up but had cleared up by the catching gate.  Down the back straight air cannon was leading and nothing ran wide at BG corner or the home turn.

 

Race 3 – 0 – 3 Wins 550m

Mr collision missed the jump, along the straight and past the 460m boxes big boy betro and after the catching pen mr collision were wide, field was clear at all other points of reference around the track.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade 460m

Fast as Floyd jumped well, clear after the jump but into the first turn fast Cody checked with bella crusader and caused her to run high and stumbled, along the back straight bella crusader slowed and had stopped by the Mobil corner.  Around the home turn and finish straight fast as Floyd ran wide.

 

After the race bella crusader was sent to the vet and found to have a broken hock and is deceased.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 460m

Leadfoot Jody jumped first, clear after the jump and turn one and catching pen, past the 720m boxes smashing fashion held a convincing lead, around the home turn and into the finish straight smashing fashion and pinto flash ran wide.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 460m

Blue Houdini missed the start, clear after the jump and through turn 1 past the catching pen turn ready to win was leading but ran wide onto the back straight and lost several lengths and its lead to miss matani.  Clear in the home turn but onto the finish straight Rambo rock and special girl ran wide.

 

Race 7 – 4th Grade 460m

Acka dacka won the jump and wildash rev was last out, clear after the jump but in the first turn made to dance, Mauritian mayhem and all about hope were tight but had cleared themselves by the catching pen turn.  Onto the back straight trackie Chan was leading but by the 720m boxes best bar none had taken the lead.  Clear around home turn

 

Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 460m

First out was not today mate, clear after the jump and thru turn 1.  By the 720m boxes not today mate held a very convincing lead and was not challenged for remainder of race, around the home turn malloury queen ran wide
