The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.
Race 1 BRILLIANT EMMA Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days + satisfactory
stewards’ trial 410m all tracks
BRILLIANT EMMA was best to begin with WILDASH TAPPER slow. Shortly after the start WILDASH REV shifted in off the heels of BRILLIANT EMMA. Leaving the 1st turn WILDDASH REV shifted in hampering WILDASH WHISPER. Racing through the back straight BRILLIANT EMMA appeared to ease when in clear running and lost ground.
The greyhound BRILLIANT EMMA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer’s representative Mrs. J. Miggins that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 410m all tracks.
ON DECK and FLINTSTONE KID were best to begin. Shortly after the start GUNNADOO SECRET shifted in tightening HOT BUBBLES. Leaving the 1st turn WINFIELD ROCKY was tightened between WILDASH DUKE and EUNICE LILLIAN and as a result WILDASH DUKE and EUNICE LILLIAN lost ground. Shortly after, WINFIELD ROCKY appeared to make contact with the running rail and lost ground, taking no further competitive part in the event. HOT BUBBLES and EUNICE LILLIAN which were following were both inconvenienced. Entering the top turn GUNNADOO SECRET improved onto the heels of FLINSTONE KID and was checked.
