VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

Race 1             PRINCE KIASH                    Injured in running, off side front carpal, 21 days

 

GENERAL

Race 1 – Maiden 410m

PRINCE KIASH was the best to begin.  HEATHAN BRETT was slow to begin.  PUNGUSHE was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start.  WILDASH DIDDY checked across the heels of LUSIMA on the turn into the back straight.  TRICKY CAPERS checked off IN THE DOCK and lost considerable ground entering the back straight.  PRINCE KIASH lost ground in the back straight and tailed off to finish a distant last.  A veterinary inspection of the greyhound revealed a fracture to the off front carpal.  PUNGUSHE raced wide into the home straight.

 

Race 2 – Novice 410m

CALL ME CHARLES was the best to begin.  COSMIC LAMP was slow to begin.  WILDASH WHISPER was tightened for racing room and lost ground on the turn into the back straight.  WILDASH WHISPER checked off HI HOMBRE and bumped MAGIC WISP on the turn out of the back straight resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground.  CALL ME CHARLES and HI HOMBRE bumped on the turn into the front straight resulting in CALL ME CHARLES becoming unbalanced.  CALL ME CHARLES and COSMIC LAMP raced wide in the home straight.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 410m

WILDASH MONTE was the best to begin.  CASH QUEEN was slow to begin.  BOLD DEBREE checked off SUPER STORY and lost ground on the turn into the back straight causing interference to WILDASH PLUMBOB.  WESTOVER checked off SUPER STORY and lost ground entering the back straight.  WESTOVER raced on to the heels of SUPER STORY and lost ground in the back straight.  WILDASH MONTE checked across the heels of CASH QUEEN on the turn into the front straight resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground.

 

Race 4 – 4th Grade 410m

EARLY SHOW was the best to begin.  STARZAR GOLD was slow to begin.  STARZAR GOLD was tightened for racing room on the turn into the back straight resulting in STARZAR GOLD falling causing interference to OUR MADAM and SMART CHIC.  FULL BLOWN lost ground in the back straight.  A veterinary inspection of the greyhound revealed no abnormalities.  Stewards had concerns in relation to the performance of the greyhound and subsequently a warning was issued.  PURE BEKIM raced wide in the home straight.

 

Race 5 – Best 8 410m

MALIAN REIGN was the best to begin.  TICKFORD and SHAKE YOUR BOOTY were marginally slow to begin.  SHAKE YOUR BOOTY and MALIAN REIGH bumped on the turn into the front straight.
