The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound KEYBOW performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 24.64.

 

The greyhound SPRING OUT performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 31.36 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 431m

SMOOTH SHILOW was slowly away with CHARMING GIRL and MAYWYNS PING best.  Shortly after the start PURELY PENNY, SAHARA GIRL and MYSTERIOUS DREAM collided.  Through the 1st turn MAYWYNS PING and CHARMING GIRL race tight.  Continuing through the turn MYSTERIOUS DREAM was tightened between PURELY PENNY and SMOOTH SHILOW and as a result was forced out onto the running of SAHARA GIRL.  SMOOTH SHILOW then improved onto the heels of PURELY PENNY and both greyhounds were severely checked.

 

The greyhound SMOOTH SHILOW was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound PURELY PENNY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 431m

DUSTY THURSDSAY and IMA COUNTRY BOY were best to begin with WATTA GENIUS slow.  Shortly after the start BLACK DASH, TUKULA and ELITE COMANDO raced tight and bumped.  TUKULA was then forced in checking PREMIER BEAR.  ELITE COMANDO and BLACK DASH raced tight and bumped through the 1st turn.  Entering the back straight TUKULA shifted in hampering WATTA GENIUS.  AVOID DAMAGE was wide through the back straight.  Approaching the top turn BLACK DASH improved onto the heels of WATTA GENIUS and both greyhounds were checked.  Through the top turn IMA COUNTRY BOY shifted out colliding with TUKULA.  Down the home straight ELITE COMANDO and TUKULA came together.  WATTA GENIUS and BLACK DASH raced tight over the concluding stages.

 

The greyhound DUSTY THURSDAY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Final 431m

DASHING CHARGER was best to begin with GO FOR HOME slow.  Through the 1st turn NURSEY WARD was tightened between DASHING CHARGER and STOLE MY HEART with all greyhounds becoming unbalanced.  RUM RAMBLER and SCORCHING CORNER which were following were inconvenienced.  Continuing through the turn STOLE MY HEART improved onto the heels of DASHING CHARGER and was checked.  NURSEY WARD which was following was severely inconvenienced as STOLE MY HEART lost ground.  Entering the back straight STOLE MY HEART was tightened between GO FOR HOME and SCORCHING CORNER.  Entering the top turn STOLE MY HEART shifted out and raced wide.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

HELL’S ENEMY was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn BARBARINO’S BOY shifted out off the heels of FANCY OSTI colliding with DESIGN BOY, FASHION ADVICE and HELL’S ENEMY, which all became unbalanced.  DESIGN BOY was wide through the back straight.  Approaching the top turn FASHION ADVICE shifted in tightening PROTO PENNY.  Entering the home straight DESIGN BOY shifted out off the heels of HELL’S ENEMY.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 431m

Even start.  Shortly after the start NOT WORTH IT and WILD ELITE came together.  A short time after YALINGA shifted in checking BONGANI, while TRAV’S MAGIC and WILD ELITE collided.  Through the 1st turn ROCK ON ROLLA and BONGANI came together with BONGANI forced to shift out and collide with MAGIC IT UP.  Shortly after TRAV’S MAGIC and WILD ELITE raced tight and unbalanced.  Continuing through the turn YALINGA shifted out off the heels of WILDASH WARRIOR.  Approaching the top turn YALINGA shifted in checking BONGANI.  MAGIC IT UP which was racing to the outside of this greyhound was also inconvenienced.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Heat 1 520m

CORNELIA JESS was best to begin with ABBY’S MAGIC and TREBLIG BRAD slow.  Shortly after the start SOLO MISS shifted in colliding with KING’S GEM.  Approaching the 1st turn DAINTY LASS shifted out off the heels of ABBY’S MAGIC while CORNELIA JESS and BLUE SCORPION raced tight.  TREBLIG BRAD was wide through the 1st turn.  Passing the catching pen SOLO MISS improved onto the heels of CORNELIA JESS and both greyhounds became severely unbalanced.  SOLO MISS lost ground and KING’S GEM and ABBY’S MAGIC which were following were heavily checked and both greyhounds fell and took no further competitive part in the event.  TREBLIG BRAD which was following was inconvenienced.

 

The greyhound KING’S GEM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound ABBY’S MAGIC was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Heat 2 520m

Even start.  Shortly after the start AGRO’S GUN shifted in tightening INTENSIVE STORM.  Approaching the 1st turn INTENSIVE STORM and WINNING NOVA were tightened between SKETCHY AIMY and BLOO FRANKIE which were shifting in.  Through the 1sdt turn LORD HOUSINGTON appeared to lose ground when in clear running and took no further competitive part in the event.  WINNING NOVA and BLOO FRANKIE were wide through the back straight.

 

The greyhound LORD HOUSINGTON was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the stomach muscle and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 431m

VICKI ROSE HI and MAYWYN ZILCH were best to begin with SPRING TYRANT slow.  Through the 1st turn KATE’S CRASH shifted in colliding heavily with SPRING TYRANT with both greyhounds becoming unbalanced.  KATE’S CRASH then proceeded to shift out and collide heavily with FLASH HOUDINI and both greyhounds lost significant ground.  MAYWYN ZILCH and VICKI ROSE HI raced tight through the home straight.

 

The greyhound OSKAR DA POOCH was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m

ROSDUE BOOMER and SPANKY’S LEGEND were best to begin.  Shortly after the start HOPPING HOUDINI, MELODY SERENADE and MAYWYN’S POPPER raced tight and unbalanced.  Through the 1st turn BLUE SIZE shifted out off the heels of SPANKY’S LEGEND and collided with HABANA FLEX.  Entering the top turn MELODY SERENADE and MAYWYN’S POPPER came together.  ROSDUE BOOMER and SPANKY’S LEGEND raced tight and bumped entering the home straight.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

ULTIMATE STAR and QUE SERA were best to begin with CYCLONE CLIFFORD slow.  Through the 1st turn QUE SERA shifted in checking SWEET AS BETH and ULTIMATE STAR.  Shortly after TRU RYDER was forced out off the heels of QUE SERA.  Through the catching pen MR. HOPPINS shifted in tightening DOLLY BLOO.  Shortly after SMOOTH STYLE shifted out checking ULTIMATE STAR.  Entering the home straight SWEET AS BETH and SMOOTH STYLE came together.  ULTIMATE STAR was wide through the home straight.
