VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound CRAZY VIXON performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.44 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 520m

OUTSIDE PASS was best to begin with VEGAS BOUND slowly away.  On the turn out of the home straight HAZY GAZE, ELITE COMANO and GALWAY SUPERSTAR all collided causing GALWAY SUPERSTAR to drop back.  In the back straight ELITE COMANDO was wide.  Entering the home straight ROCKING RONNY and GORILLA EYES collided.  In the home straight HAZE GAZE was wide.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Final 520m

MONKEY’S UNCLE was best to begin with GALWAY THUNDER, DEVELOPER and BY GOLLY MOLLY slowly away.  On the turn out of the home straight GALWAY THUNDER and DEVELOPER collided causing DEVELOPER to force BY GOLLY MOLLY wide.  In the back straight COLLIDER GIRL was wide.  Entering the home straight MONKEY’S UNCLE checked off the heels of COLLIDER GIRL.  Approaching the winning post MONKEY’S UNCLE and HOBO JANE collided.

 

Race 3 – Novice 431m

CAHILL EXPRESS was best to begin with the remainder evenly away.  Soon after the start QUEEN OF SHOW and HE SAID YES collided.  Entering the back straight AMY’S ELITE and HE SAID YES collided.  On the turn into the home straight TEMNICK and MOCHA LATTE collided forcing MOCHA LATTE wide in the home straight.

 

The greyhound JASMINE HOLLY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Ms. B Leary that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

 

Race 4 – Novice 520m

EBONY’S SECRET was best to begin with MR. REALITY slowly away.  Soon after the start BRALYN LUIGI and MAYWYN’S COPY collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight MR. REALITY checked off the heels of MAYWYN’S COPY.  Entering the back straight OCCY CUT BACK checked off the heels of OBSIDIAN.  In the back straight OCCY CUT BACK was wide.  In the home straight OCCY CUT BACK was wide.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 431m

FENRIR and SUPER LUIGI were best to begin with ALL RIVERS RUN slowly away.  Soon after the start HEZ SO FAST and RYLEE’S ROOKIE collided.  Entering the back straight HEZ SO FAST and RYLEE’S ROOKIE collided.  In the back straight HEZ SO FAST was wide.  In the home straight SPECIAL GIRL and SUPER LUIGI were wide.

 

The greyhound RYLEE’S ROOKIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade 520m

MAGIC KITCHEN was best to begin with ALPHA ACHILLES slowly away.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion WHITE MARLIN and BEC’S SECRET collided.  On the turn out of the home straight ALPHA ACHILLES was wide.  In the back straight RAGING THUNDER was wide.  In the home straight PASSIVE PROTEST and BOO BOO CHILD were wide.

 

The greyhound ALPHA ACHILLES was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards questioned the connections regarding the greyhound’s performance.  Trainer’s representative Mr. M Zammit explained to stewards that the greyhound needs the inside and has only been slipped at the track and he expects the performance to improve.  He advised he is going to start the greyhound next week at Ipswich.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade 520m

Even start.  Soon after the start SILKY OAK and PEARLS ANGEL collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight WAIRKARIE WARRIOR and PROUD AS PUNCH collided causing PROUD AS PUNCH to fall and WAIKARIE WARRIOR taking no further competitive part in the event.  In the back straight and home straight PEARLS ANGEL was wide.

 

The greyhound WAIKARIE WARRIOR was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 8 – 5th Grade Final 520m

CERVELO and SHANIA SIND were best to begin with SOLO MISS and KNIGHTS TEMPLAR slow to begin.  On the turn out of the home straight MINI OREO and MAYWYN WILL WIN collided forcing SHANIA SIND wide.  In the back straight SHANIA SIND and DOUBLE STORM were wide.  In the home straight SHANIA SIND and DOUBLE STORM were wide.

 

Race 9 – Best 8 431m

EARNED TALKING and YOUR DEAL were best to begin with AURIGA LEGEND slowly away.  Entering the back straight YOUR DEAL and RYLEE’S ROULETTE collided.  In the back straight LOTUS BLOSSOM was wide.  Entering the top turn LOTUS BLOSSOM and RYLEE’S ROULETTE collided.  In the home straight RYLEE’S ROULEETTE was wide.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

INSIDE PASS was best to begin with SECRET OCTANE slowly away.  Soon after the start THREADS and HABANA FLEX collided.  Entering the back straight BROOKVALE GLORY checked off the heels of THREADS.  Entering the top turn BROOKVALE GLORY checked off the heels of NOT WORTH IT.  In the home straight THREADS was wide.

 

The greyhound BROOKVALE GLORY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side fibula and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
