GENERAL

 

The greyhound SMOKING PAWS performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.80.

 

The greyhound RUBY’S IN YELLOW performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 24.94.

 

The greyhound GLENALLON ZULU performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.60.

 

The greyhound GLENALLON RINGO performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.62.

 

The greyhound CLASSY MOVER failed stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m.

 

Trainer Mr. G Bowe fined $100 under Rule 23 for failure to scratch REDLINE OVERKILL.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 431m

BASHFUL BABE was best to begin.  RYLI’S CAM was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MUGGED ON TOUR shifted in resulting in a tightening to JOKE’S ON ME and COOL CREDIT.  Approaching the turn into the back straight JOKE’S ON ME shifted out, which resulted in RYLI’S CAM being checked and losing some ground.  In the back straight COOL CREDIT shifted out and hampered MUGGED ON TOUR, which in turn shifted out and checked HAZY GAZE causing that greyhound to lose considerable ground.  Leaving the back straight BLACK STREET BOY shifted out and bumped BASHFUL BABE causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced.  Entering the front straight BOGIE ROCK turned its head inwards and made contact with BLACK STREET BOY.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. K Donaldson that the greyhound BOGIE ROCK would be charged under Rule 69 (1) Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 431m

MAGIC ESCAPE, FARMOR OFF TAP and SOMERSET SUPREME were best to begin.  VIV was slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight TEARS FOR BUD and NAT MAN came together with both greyhounds losing considerable ground.  In the back straight VIV shifted out causing TO BIRDIES to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight TEARS FOR BUD turned its head and made contact with NAT MAN.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. K Ollerton that the greyhound TEARS FOR BUD would be charged under Rule 69 (1) Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Final 431m

Even start.  Approaching the turn into the back straight MISS CSREDIT and LORRY DRYVA came together, which resulted in LORRY DRYVA being checked, which in turn then checked DON’T GO with both LORRY DRYVA and DON’T GO losing considerable ground.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

RYLI’S RAMBO was best to begin.  Shortly after the start TWO BEERS shifted in causing a tightening to GOOD BYE JOAN, MOSS WIN QUEEN, TRIER and RYLI’S DREAMER, resulting in MOSS WIN QUEEN losing considerable ground and falling to finish the event.

 

The greyhound MOSS WIN QUEEN was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 431m

NEAT ALRIGHT and HOPPING HOUDINI were best to begin.  SECRET OCTANE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start DARE TO TELL and HOPPING HOUDINI came together which resulted in HOPPING HOUDINI shifting out and making contact with SPRING BLUESTONE, causing that greyhound to be checked and lose some ground.  In the back straight SPRING BLUESTONE checked off the heels of HOPPING HOUDINI and lost some ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight FASHION ADVICE checked off the heels of RYLI’S RANGA and as a consequence checked NEAT ALRIGHT causing it to lose some ground.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Heat 1 520m

Even start.  SUNNYSIDE JAY was slow to begin.  HIGHLIFE raced wide rounding the turn out of the front straight.  PACIFIC CHAMP raced wide in the back straight.  Entering the back straight SUNNYSIDE JAY and PREMIER BEAR came together resulting in PREMIER BEAR losing ground.

 

The greyhound HIGHLIFE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Heat 2 520m

Even Start. BONNIE BRAE was tightened for racing room between SPRING MILLIE and SPRING FIRECHIEF shortly after the start.

 

Race 8 – 4/5th Grade Final 520m

Even start.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight BRALYN COOKIE contacted the heels of JUST LIKE TINA and shifted out.  BLUE SCORPION failed to run on over the concluding stages.

 

The greyhound BLUE SCORPION was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m

Even start.  Shortly after the start TUKULA shifted in tightening BRAE GIFT, SPLIT IT and SHIVERANCE causing all 3 greyhounds to be checked and lose considerable ground.  SKYE BRIDGE raced wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound SPLIT IT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

Even start.  JOHN SNOW was slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight QUE SERA shifted in and tightened WILD ELITE and EL CAPO causing both greyhounds to lose some ground.  Losing the back straight EL CAPO contacted the heels of DOLLY BLOO and lost ground.
