The greyhound TRAP MAN performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 1 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.43.
The greyhound GLENALLON ZULU performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.46.
The greyhound GLENALLON RINGO performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.88.
The greyhound SCORPION QUEEN performed a satisfactory steward’s trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.68 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.
RICH ‘N’ WILD was best to begin. DEVELOPER was tightened shortly after the start between ROCKING RONNY and MASTER HAYMAKER and lost ground. Approaching the 1st turn BRALYN CHARLIE shifted in and tightening the racing room of JOKE’S ON ME which in turn shifted in checking MASTER HAYMAKER causing this greyhound to lose some ground. Rounding the 1st turn HAPPY GEORGE shifted out and made contact with ROCKING RONNY, resulting in HAPPY GEORGE to become unbalanced and lose some ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight HAPPY GEORGE made contact with the heels of JOKE’S ON ME causing it to become unbalanced and lose some ground. JOKE’S ON ME was checked as a result of this incident. Leaving the back straight ROCKING RONNY and JOKE’S ON ME came together resulting in JOKE’S ON ME being checked and lose some ground. In the front straight MASTER HAYMAKER shifted out and made muzzle contact with HAPPY GEORGE.
Stewards advised trainer Mr. B McNamara that the greyhound MASTER HAYMAKER would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
MAGIC SPARKLE and BELLA LEE were best to begin. SPRING ESTELLE, GO BLACK BIDDY and MADAM’S FLASH’S were slow to begin. Approaching the turn into the back straight GORILLA EYES shifted out and made contact with GOTTA GET UP causing GOTTA GET UP to be checked and lose some ground. In the back straight BELLA LEE crossed down and made contact with MAGIC SPARKLE causing this greyhound to lose some ground.
Race 3 – Novice 520m
COLLIDER GIRL was best to begin. Rounding the 1st turn PACIFIC CHAMP shifted out which resulted in LADY KIN and LA LUCCIOLA being checked and losing some ground. PACIFIC CHAMP raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 4 – 5th
Grade 431m
GENALAKY RED was tightened for racing room shortly after the start between VAGUE MEMORIES and GOD ONLY KNOWS, then shortly afterwards GENALAKY RED contacted the heels of I’M ALL STRIPES, which resulted in GENALAKY RED being hampered. Approaching the turn into the back straight VAGUE MEMORIES and CULPER SPY came together, which resulted in VAGUE MEMORIES shifting out and making contact with SECRET OCTANE, causing this greyhound to lose ground. Approaching the turn out of the back straight VAGUE MEMORIES shifted in and hampered I’M ALL STRIPES.
The greyhound I’M ALL STRIPES was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards interviewed trainer Mrs. S Giles and explained that the greyhound was having its 1st start since 6 January 2015 which it had been recovering from a torn back muscle. Mrs. Giles stated that I’M ALL STRIPES had trialled very well leading up to today’s race and was expecting a forward position however, when it missed the start and received some interference in the early stages I’M ALL STRIPES in her opinion finished off the race satisfactorily. She further stated that it would be her intention to race I’M ALL STRIPES over the longer 600m distance where it had raced successfully in the past. Stewards noted her explanation.
Stewards interviewed trainer of VAGUE MEMORIES Mr. J Catton stated that he has had difficulty in training VAGUE MEMORIES as the greyhound does come into season frequently, which he has treated her for and has solved this issue. He further stated that VAGUE MEMORIES is suited to the more staying type races and it would be his intention to race the greyhound over the 500 or 600m when races are available. He further stated that VAGUE MEMORIES had been racing well at Capalaba leading up to tonight’s event and he expected a forward showing and supported the greyhound in the race. Mr. Catton’s explanation was noted.
Race 5 – 0 – 4 Wins Heat 1

SAHARA GIRL was slow to begin. Approaching the turn into the front straight BOGIE’S A STAR checked off the heels of PARCHMENT and raced wide. Rounding the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion BERRY IN LOVE shifted out and contacted BOGART BLEND causing this greyhound to shift out and check BOGIE’S A STAR, causing it to race wide and lose momentum. Leaving the front straight BOGIE’S A STAR raced wide.
Race 6 – 0 – 4 Wins Heat 2

PASSIVE PROTEST was best to begin. BY GOLLY MOLLY and VIRUNGA were slow to begin. Rounding the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion FURY ROSE HI shifted in and checked BY GOLLY MOLLY causing it to be hampered. In the back straight WHITE MARLIN checked off the heels of SKETCHY AIMY causing it to lose momentum. MAJESTIC SEINE was held up for clear running over the concluding stages.
The greyhound FURY ROSE HI was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 7 – 5th Grade Final 520m
ALARM BELLS and CHEEKY FREYER were best to begin. MAGIC KITCHEN bumped with BRALYN COOKIE shortly after the start and lost momentum. Approaching the turn out of the front straight on the 1st occasion ALARM BELLS shifted in which tightened SOLO MISS onto CRANKSHAFT, causing CRANKSHAFT to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. ULTRA BLUE and PEARLS ANGEL were checked and lost ground. In the back straight CRANKSHAFT shifted in and tightened MAGIC KITCHEN and BRALYN COOKIE causing both greyhounds to be checked.
Race 8 – 4/5th Grade 520m
Shortly after the start TOURMALINE shifted in making contact with BLACK CASPER causing it to be checked. Shortly after HUDSONS BREAK shifted out and made contact with BLACK CASPER, causing it to be checked. Rounding the 1st turn HUDSONS BREAK shifted out which resulted in BLACK CASPER contacting its heels with BLACK CASPER losing ground. Approaching the turn out of the back straight MERCEDES LASS and PACIFIC HARBOUR bumped causing MERCEDES LASS to shift out and make heavy contact with BLACK CASPER, resulting in both greyhounds losing considerable ground HUDSONS BREAK raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 431m
INSIDE PASS was best to begin. CLASSY HAZE was slow to begin. Approaching the turn into the back straight SUPER LUIGI shifted in and tightened the racing room of MAYWYN WEALTH causing it to be checked, which resulted in MAYWYN WEALTH making heavy contact with GET INVOLVED, causing this greyhound to be severely checked. ELUSIVE FUSION was hampered as a result of this incident.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m
ARABIAN MELODY and HER STORY were best to begin. Approaching the turn into the back straight WOODY’S RETURN shifted in and tightened FLYING RAVEN, causing that greyhound to be checked which then in turn shifted out and made heavy contact with MACIE’S DINGO, causing both FLYING RAVEN and MACIE’S DINGO to lose considerable ground. Rounding the turn out of the back straight LUNAR QUEEN and SHEAR SPEED came together hampering both greyhounds.
