GENERAL

 

The greyhound GLENALLON RINGO performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.44.

 

The greyhound GLENALLON ZULU performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.44.

 

The greyhound SHEZA MINI SIZE performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.65.

 

The greyhound TRAP MAN performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.81.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 431m

MAYWYN MACEY, SHAYLOR DOM and ROCKET’S MAGIC were best to begin.  Shortly after the start FEAR LADY and NORDOC MAGIC collided.  Through the 1st turn FEAR LADY checked NORDOC MAGIC.  Shortly after, FEAR LADY shifted out off the heels of MAYWYN MACEY checking SHAYLOR DOM.  Entering the back straight FEAR LADY shifted out off the heels of SHAYLOR DOM checking RAPID ROSE.  Entering the top turn SHAYLOR SHANE and SHAYLOR DOM came together.  Shortly after, SHAYLOR DOM made contact with the hindquarters of SHAYLOR SHANE causing this greyhound to become unbalanced.  FEAR LADY which was following was inconvenienced.  Leaving the top turn SHAYLOR SHANE, FEAR LADY and SHAYLOR DOM collided and became severely unbalanced.

 

The greyhound SHAYLOR SHANE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer Mr. P Smith was shown the patrol films of this race to highlight an incident through the top turn involving the greyhound SHAYLOR SHANE. Stewards were satisfied that the incident was a result of interference and no action was taken against SHAYLOR SHANE.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 431m

MISHA and SHAYLOR CLEDUS were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn ZIP ZIPS MAGIC and SHAYLOR CLEDUS collided.  Shortly after SMOKING PAWS improved onto the heels of ZIP ZIPS MAGIC which lost ground and collided with AVOID DAMAGE and COCO CRAZY.  Through the catching pen MISHA improved onto the heels of SHAYLOR CLEDUS and was checked.  Approaching the top turn MISHA shifted off the heels of SMOKING PAWS and became unbalanced.  SHAYLOR CLEDUS and SMOKING PAWS raced tight into the home straight.

 

The greyhound MISHA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Final 431m

FEAR THE RECALL was best to begin.  Shortly after the start MISS ELEGANCE shifted in tightening LUCY’S LUCK and BONTEMPELLI.  Through the 1st turn OKA’S ANGEL shifted out off the heels of FABULOUS WALL.  Passing the catching pen LUCY’S LUCK shifted out of its own accord.  Entering the back straight CASEY UNDERCOVER improved onto the heels of OKA’S ANGEL and lost ground.  Racing through the home straight FEAR THE RECALL and BONTEMPELLI came together.

 

The greyhound LUCY’S LUCK was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

IVORY KING was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn WOOZIE DOOZIE shifted in checking IVAN ELROY which was forced onto the running of EDGE ‘EM OUT and both greyhounds collided heavily.  Entering the back straight FLASHMAN SAM improved onto the heels of WOOZIE DOOZIE and was checked.  As WOOZIE DOOZIE lost ground it collided with IVAN ELROY.  EDGE ‘EM OUT was wide into the home straight.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 431m

Even start.  Shortly after the start FANCY OSTI shifted in tightening IVAN’S MATE, DAYSEAS DOLLY and BEAU JILLEM.  Through the 1st turn BEAU JILLEM, IVAN’S MATE and SHANAE’S MAGIC collided and became unbalanced and IVAN’S MATE lost ground.  Entering the back straight BEAU JILLEM and SHANAE’S MAGIC came together.

 

Stewards questioned trainer Mr. P Smith in regards to the improved performance of QUEEN CLEO in reference to the 6 month absence from racing trial conducted at Albion Park the previous week.  Mr. Smith advised stewards that the greyhound had run up to its ability and to his expectations in today’s event.  He made reference to the stewards’ trial, advising stewards that the greyhound had received interference in the early stages of this trial that had impacted the time the greyhound registered and taking this into consideration he was pleased with the overall performance. Stewards accepted Mr. Smith’s advice.

 

Race 6 – 3/4th Grade 431m

WESTERN DAVE began awkwardly.  Through the 1st turn RHYTHMIC BLUES, WAZZ’S FANTASY, DENZANO OSTI and BLACK STEEL all raced tight and unbalanced.  Shortly after DENZANO OSTI and BLACK STEEL came together and became unbalanced. DENZANO OSTI lost ground.  WESTERN DAVE which was following was inconvenienced.  Passing the catching pen RHYTHMIC BLUES shifted in tightening MR. TRANSPORTER.

 

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Final 431m

Even start.  Into the 1st turn SUPA SMOOTH OSTI, TAYTO, LADY’S ANGEL, TRAV’S MAGIC and SPIKE BENZ all came together and became unbalanced.  ELITE DESSA which was following was inconvenienced as SPIKE BENZ lost ground.  Passing the catching pen SUPA SMOOTH OSTI shifted in tightening LADY’S ANGEL.  TAYTO and LADY’S ANGEL were tight through the home straight.

 

Race 8 – 4/5th Grade 520m

GLASS was slow to begin.  ROSDUE BOOMER and ROSDUE DYNAMO were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn READY TO RULE shifted out forcing WALLY’S WAY wide, while ROSDUE DYNAMO and DYNAMITE SPEED raced tight, became unbalanced and proceeded to race wide through the 1st turn.  Continuing through the turn ROSDUE DYNAMO and GIGGLING BEACH came together.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m

SIR TIGER OSTI and EASY OFF were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn MAYWYN WEALTH, THAT ONE and SUPER LUIGI collided.  Shortly after, MAYWYN WEALTH shifted out checking SUPER LUIGI and TIME IS MONEY.  Approaching the top turn EASY OFF lost ground as THAT ONE improved to its inside.

 

The greyhound EASY OFF was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Mr. Woods advised stewards when questioned regarding the greyhound’s poor performance that the greyhound does need to lead to perform at its best, which it was unable to do on this occasion.  Stewards accepted Mr. Woods’ explanation and advised that the greyhound’s future performances would be monitored.

 

When questioned over the improved performance of AUSPHIL GIRL in this event trainer Mr. P Smith advised stewards that the greyhound had been trialing well and made reference to the recent improved diet and general wellbeing of all of the greyhounds in his care. Mr. Smith put to stewards that this change has contributed greatly to the recent improved performance across his entire kennel. Stewards accepted Mr. Smith’s advice.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

QUE SERA was best to begin.  Through the 1st turn PURE EDGE shifted off the heels of QUE SERA causing tightening to HER STORY and SHAYLOR JAKE, which lost ground.  At the same time KAR BLU checked CLASSIC TYCOON.  KAR BLU was wide through the back straight.

 

The greyhound HER STORY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

 

P WEST

STEWARD IN CHARGE
