The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 520m

COVERT AFFAIR and GO BLACK BIDDY were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MAGIC SPARKLE shifted in tightening GORILLA EYES and QUALITY BOND.  Approaching the 1st turn GORILLA EYES checked JOKE’S ON ME.  Shortly after, JOKE’S ON ME shifted out off the heels of GORILLA EYES checking MAGIC SPARKLE and GO BLACK BIDDY.  Down the home straight COVERT AFFAIR was hampered on the heels of STOLE MY HEART.  Shortly after, QUALITY BOND and GORILLA EYES collided.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 520m

GO FOR HOME was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BELLA LEE shifted in checking SWEET DELIGHT while TILLY NO TAIL shifted out tightening SOCCER’S OFF and RICH ‘N’ WILD.  Approaching the 1st turn SWEET DELIGHT and ROCKING RONNY collided forcing ROCKING RONNY to shift out and check GO FOR HOME, SOCCER’S OFF and DRAGON DUK.  SOCCER’S OFF and GO FOR HOME lost significant ground in this incident.  Entering the home straight TILLY NO TAIL improved onto the heels of BELLA LEE causing this greyhound to fall and take no further competitive part in the event.  SOCCER’S OFF which was following was hampered as BELLA LEE fell.

 

The greyhound BELLA LEE was vetted and found to have suffered bruising and was stood down for a period of 5 days.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

BY GOLLY MOLLY was slow to begin.  Entering the 1st turn WEST MEAD LASS and DON’T DOUBT ME came together.  MAYWYN’S COPY was wide through the back straight.  Entering the home straight BY GOLLY MOLLY shifted off the heels of DON’T DOUBT ME.  WEST MEAD LASS and DON’T DOUBT ME raced tight and bumped through the home straight.

 

The greyhound VISIONARY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

Race 4 – Novice 520m

CADILLAC LASS was best to begin.  Shortly after the start BED OF NAILS and ELITE SOX bumped.  Approaching the 1st turn CADILLA LASS was tightened between TARA MARRIE and FOCUS ME and was forced to shift out and collide with NOW FEAR THIS and ELITE SOX.  Passing the catching pen CADILLAC LASS shifted off the heels of NOW FEAR THIS and checked ELITE SOX.  Through the top turn FOCUS ME and TARA MARRIE collided.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 431m

MISS HALLIUS was best to begin with ROYAL ALBERT slow.  Through the 1st turn ARK UP, FAR FROM FEAR, BLACKJACK GENT and HABANA FLEX were tightened between CANDY CRUSH and PUMPY’S LUCK, both of which shifted.  Passing the catching pen CANDY CRUSH shifted off the heels of ARK UP.  FAR FROM FEAR which was following was inconvenienced.  Leaving the back straight BLACKJACK GENT shifted in tightening CANDY CRUSH.  Down the home straight ARK UP shifted out hampering PUMPY’S LUCK.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Heat 1 520m

Even start.  Entering the 1st turn COLLIDER GIRL checked off the heels of SO SWANKY and was forced onto the running of SPRING BLITZ.  COLLIDER GIRL and SO SWANKY lost ground as a result of this incident.  Through the 1st turn BRALYN COOKIE shifted out and raced wide.  Down the home straight SPRING BLITZ shifted in checking WILL MEND.

 

The greyhound COLLIDER GIRL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Heat 2 520m

ALARM BELLS was best to begin.  Shortly after the start BOGART BLEND and SPRING FIRECHIEF shifted in checking SCORPION QUEEN and BERRY IN LOVE.  Approaching the 1st turn HER’S NOT HIS shifted out off the heels of SILKY OAK and collided with SPRING FIRECHIEF which was forced to shift wide through the 1st turn.  SILKY OAK and AURIGA DOLL collided through the 1st turn.  Entering the back straight BOGART BLEND checked HER’S NOT HIS.

 

The greyhound HER’S NOT HIS was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned as to the poor performance of HER’S NOT HIS trainer Mr. S Woods made reference to interference suffered by the greyhound throughout the run and undertook to inform stewards should anything go amiss with the greyhound in the coming days.  Mr. Woods stated to stewards that the greyhound would be running in a 4/5th Grade final at Ipswich on Friday 31 July 2015 and he would endeavor to make sure the greyhound was sound before this event.  Mr. Woods was advised that the greyhound’s performance was bordering on unsatisfactory, particularly in reference to its previous performance at Ipswich over the 520m.  Stewards advised that future performances would be closely monitored.

 

Race 8 – 0 – 4 Wins 630m

Even start.  Through the 1st turn PARCHMENT was tightened between MAJESTIC SEINE and EGYPTIAN LASS.  Through the front straight SAHARA GIRL, MAJESTIC SEINE and EGYPTIAN LASS raced tight and bumped.  Through the bottom turn PARCHMENT shifted off the heels of PASSIVE PROTEST and forced DAINTY LASS to race wide through the turn.  Shortly after, EGYPTIAN LASS shifted off the heels of SAHARA GIRL.  Through the top turn SKETCHY AIMY shifted in tightening PARCHMENT.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 431m

Even start.  Through the 1st turn SPRING PLANET, GET INVOLVED, RUBY’S IN YELLOW and GLOBAL DEEJAY all raced tight and became unbalanced.  Shortly after, INSIDE PASS and WENEREX collided.  Leaving the back straight RYUBY’S IN YELLOW shifted in making contact with the running rail and losing ground.

 

The greyhound RUBY’S IN YELLOW was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

FEARLESS DUK and FARMOER MAYHEM were best to begin.  IVAN ELROY and AMY’S ELITE were tight through the 1st turn.
