The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound SPRING BIG IRON performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.67.

 

The greyhound SPRING SHANGHAI performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.69.

 

The greyhound JASMINE HOLLY failed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m.

 

The greyhound TEARS FOR BUD failed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 431m

LUCY MOO and GOLD DIVA were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn DASH OF FAITH shifted out checking LUCY MOO and GOLD DIVA.  Shortly after, EFFIE ROSE HI improved onto the heels of VELOCITY EMBER causing this greyhound to become unbalanced and as a result caused interference to NINA ROSE HI, SHEZA MINI SIZE and SPARKS FLY.  VELOCITY EMBER, SHEZA MINI SIZE and SPARKS FLY all lost ground.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 431m

YOUR ON ‘EM was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn WEST MEAD BLUE and CARLTON CREW collided while FIRE ALONG, HAPPY GEORGE and ROCKING RONNY were tight and unbalanced with HAPPY GEORGE and ROCKING RONNY losing ground.  CARLTON CREW and FIRE ALONG were wide into the back straight.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Final 431m

DRAGON DUK, ASTON UGO and DEAD END were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn SPLIT SYSTEM shifted out checking SNUBBING UNIT, SITELLA, FABULOUS WALL and HYPNOTIZED.  Passing the catching pen ASTON UGO shifted out colliding with SPLIT SYSTEM and HYPNOTIZED.  DEAD END, FABULOUS WALL and SITELLA which were following were inconvenienced.  Approaching the top turn DEAD END shifted in hampering FABULOUS WALL.

 

The greyhound FABULOUS WALL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

MR. REALITY and GOOD BYE JOAN were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn DESIGN BOY shifted in tightening NURSEY WARD.  Continuing through the turn YOWIE HUNTER was tightened between SQUIRT ROSE HI and COOL CREDIT.  Passing the catching pen MR. REALITY improved onto the heels of NURSEY WARD checking this greyhound.  GOOD BYE JOAN and DESIGN BOY were wide through the back straight.  Entering the top turn COOL CREDIT checked SQUIRT ROSE HI.  Through the top turn YOWIE HUNTER checked off the heels of SQUIRT ROSE HI.  YOWIE HUNTER was wide through the home straight.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade Heat 1 520m

Even start.  Shortly after the start CLASSY BARCY checked IN THE PICUTRE.  Entering the 1st turn SLEEPY MIME and NOT THE ONE came together forcing SLEEPY MIME to shift out and hamper SPRING ESTELLE and FYRE GAL.  CLASSY BARCY which was following was inconvenienced.  Through the turn PACIFIC CHAMP shifted out forcing NOT THE ONE wide.  Entering the home straight PACIFIC CHAMP and NOT THE ONE came together.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 520m

BRALYN COOKIE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start BRALYN COOKIE shifted in tightening OCTOBER SPRING, OUT WEST, MAYWYN’S YING and ASTOUND YA.  HEEZA PICTURE raced wide through the 1st turn.  Leaving the back straight MAYWYN’S YING shifted in tightening OCTOBER SPRING which lost ground.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Final 520m

SHANAE’S MAGIC was best to begin with SPRING MILLIE and TRAV’S MAGIC slow.  Shortly after the start YALINGA checked GIGGLING BEACH.  Approaching the 1st turn TRAV’S MAGIC improved onto the heels of BONNIE BRAE.  Both greyhounds became unbalanced and BONNIE BRAE shifted out checking SPRING MILLIE.

 

The greyhound SPRING MILLIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned in regards to the below market expectation performance and slow for the start from the boxes, trainer Mr. C Byers advised stewards that the greyhound’s slow start to the event was uncharacteristic for this greyhound, and he could not provide any tangible explanation for this.  He advised that overall he was disappointed with the run as he did support the greyhound in this event.  Stewards noted Mr. Byers’ comments.

 

The greyhound TRAV’S MAGIC was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 431m

Even start.  Approaching the catching pen RHYTHMIC BLUES improved onto the heels of MR. TRANSPORTER and fell taking no further competitive part in the event.  Entering the top turn LONE GUN shifted in hampering MR. TRANSPORTER.

 

The greyhound RHYTHMIC BLUES was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound LONE GUN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned on the below market expectation performance of this greyhound trainer Mr. A Kennewell could not offer any tangible explanation as to the greyhound’s poor performance and he did state that he was disappointed and had expected the greyhound to perform well in this event.  Mr. Kennewell undertook to advise stewards should anything come to light with the greyhound in the subsequent days. Mr.  Kennewell was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, and must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m all tracks prior to nominating. 

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m

Even start.  Shortly after the start MAL ROSE HI and DOLLY BLOO were tightened between IPSWICH MELODY and CANDY CRUSH.  Through the 1st turn BONNIE’S DREAM and IPSWICH MELODY collided while MAL ROSE HI checked off the heels of DOLLY BLOO.  IPSWICH MELODY and MAL ROSE HI lost ground as a result.  DOUBLE STORM was wide through the back straight.  Through the top turn BONNIE’S DREAM checked off the heels of DOLLY BLOO.  Entering the home straight DOLLY BLOO shifted in tightening BONNIE’S DREAM.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

URBAN STREET was best to begin.  Shortly after the start PRINCESS TOUCH, WESTERN HONEY and FLYING RAVEN were tight and unbalanced.  Through the 1st turn SPRING OUT shifted in tightening JUNIOR ROSE HI.  WESTERN HONEY was forced to shift out off the heels and checking FLYING RAVEN and SLIP SLIDING.  Entering the home straight URBAN STREET shifted in colliding with SPRING OUT.
