VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound PREMIER BEAR performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 31.20 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 431m

SHAYLOR JAIME was best to begin.  Through the 1st turn MCCAW MCCAW shifted out checking GALWAY THUNDER and GALLANTRY.  Through the top turn SHAYLOR JAIME checked off the heels of SCAR’S BROTHER, resulting in SHAYLOR JAIME losing considerable ground.  MCCAW MCCAW raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound SHAYLOR JAIME was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 431m

WHAT’S FOREVER was best to begin.  HEY SUGAR was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn SPLIT SYSTEM was tightened for room and lost ground between SOCIAL DANCER and TECHNO LADY. RED RIVER ROSE and NAOMI ROSE HI who were following were also checked and forced to race wider on the track.  HEY SUGAR raced wide throughout the back straight.  Entering the top turn SPRING AGUSTUS and SOCIAL DANCER collided causing SOCIAL DANCER to fall and take no further competitive part in the event.  TECHNO LADY and HEY SUGAR raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound SOCIAL DANCER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Novice 431m

SHELIA DOOLEY and FARMOR OFF TAP were best to begin.  STOLE MY HEART was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn MADAM MEDUSA and SHELIA DOOLEY collided resulting in SUNDAY SUNRISE and FARMOR OFF TAP being checked.  At the same stage HOT LIKE SUNSET checked off the heels of TARA MARRIE.  FARMOR OFF TAP raced wide in the back straight.  Entering the top turn SHELIA DOOLEY checked off the heels of SUNDAY SUNRISE, resulting in GALWAY RAIN who was following also being inconvenienced.  SUNDAY SUNRISE raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

BONTEMPELLI was best to begin.  BRALYN LUIGI was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn GALWAY SUPERSTAR, ACHTUNG and BRALYN LUIGI all raced tight.  Entering the back straight BLACK AKKA and SIZE WONT MATTER collided resulting in SNUBBING UNIT begin checked and losing considerable ground.  In the back straight GALWAY SUPERSTAR checked off the heels of BLACK AKKA.  Entering the top turn ACHTUNG checked off the heels of SIZE WONT MATTER, resulting in both ACHTUNG and SIZE WONT MATTER losing ground.  BONTEMPELLI raced wide throughout the home straight.

 

The greyhound BRALYN LUIGI was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SIZE WONT MATTER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade Heat 1 431m

MAL ROSE HI was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SPANKY’S LEGEND and SPRING TWIG collided.  Entering the back straight SPRING TWIG and SPANKY’S LEGEND collided resulting in LOAD ME UP being checked. MAL ROSE HI raced wide throughout the top turn and throughout the front straight.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 431m

GRAVITY WOLF was best to begin.  BURMA SPECIAL was slow to begin.  Entering the back straight WENEREX checked off the heels of GRAVITY WOLF resulting in CRAZY JAS which was following also being checked and losing ground.  Entering the home straight SHAYLOR BECKY shifted out colliding with WENEREX forcing WENEREX wider on the track.  In the home straight BURMA SPECIAL turned its head outwards making muzzle contact with GRAVITY WOLF.

 

The greyhound WENEREX was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SHAYLOR BECKY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BURMA SPECIAL was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near hind foot and was stood down for a period of 10 days.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. D Turley that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Final 431m

BASHFUL BABE and QUE SERA were best to begin.  BRALYN BAUPLE was slow to begin.  Entering the back straight MISS HALLIUS and BIG YELLOW TAXI collided.  In the back straight MISS HALLIUS checked off the heels of BIG YELLOW TAXI.  MAYWYN WEALTH raced wide in throughout the back straight.  Entering the home straight QUE SERA and BASHFUL BABE raced wide.

 

Race 8 – 4/5th Grade 520m

ALARM BELLS was best to begin.  PACIFIC CHAMP and SPRING MILLIE were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start BRALYN COOKIE and SERENE STAR collided causing SERENE STAR to check BEAT THE BULLET and PACIFIC CHAMP, resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  Through the 1st turn SPRING MILLIE and COOGAN’S REGRET collided.  Through the 1st turn PACIFIC CHAMP raced wide.  Entering the home straight COOGAN’S REGRET and PACIFIC CHAMP raced extremely wide.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade Heat 3 431m

INSIDE PASS was best to begin.  KILTY JACK and ROYAL ALBERT were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn INSIDE PASS and JEBRYNAH ALLEY collided resulting in JEBRYNAH ALLEY being checked.  At this point TRACKIE CHAN and DIANNE’S PEARL bumped.  In the back straight ROYAL ALBERT checked off the heels of JEBRYNAH ALLEY, resulting in ROYAL ALBERT losing some ground.  Entering the top turn DIANNE’S PEARL checked off the heels of BLACK STREET BOY resulting in further interference to SPRING OUT.  Through the top turn ROYAL ALBERT and DIANNE’S PEARL collided checking SPRING OUT.

 

Race 10 – 4/5th Grade Heat 4 431m

HAMEY and LUNAR QUEEN were best to begin.  COOL CREDIT was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MAGIC FLY HIGH and COOL CREDIT bumped.  Entering the back straight SWEET AS BETH and JUNIOR ROSE HI checked off the heels of HAMEY, resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  Approaching the top turn MAGIC FLY HIGH checked off the heels of LUNAR QUEEN.  MACIE’S DINGO raced wide throughout the home straight.
