VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden 431m

MAYWYN MOOLA was well away with DRAGON DUK slow.  Shortly after the start TWICE COOKED, TEETH GRIEF and NINA ROSE HI were tight.  Through the 1st turn SPRING DODGER and GOTTA GET UP collided, with TEETH GRIEF which was following hampered as a result.  Approaching the top turn TENTHILL TIGER shifted in checking DRAGON DUK which was forced to shift out and collide with TWICE COOKED and both greyhounds losing ground.  Shortly after, TEETH GRIEF and TWICE COOKED came together.  Entering the home straight NINA ROSE HI and DRAGON DUK came together.

 

When questioned on the improved performance of MAYWYN MOOLA trainer Mr. R Essex advised stewards that the greyhound had been spelled while he attempted to increase the greyhound’s racing weight, which today was up 2kgs from its last start.  Mr. Essex attributed the improved performance to the freshen up and the added weight. Stewards noted the trainer’s comments.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 431m

MAYWYNS ELECT was best to begin.  Through the 1st turn LEIGH’S MIMSEAL and DARCY’S CURSE came together.  Continuing through the turn SPRING BLONDE and GALWAY LIGHTNING were tight and SPRING BLONDE was forced to shift out off the heels of GALWAY LIGHTNING and lost significant ground.  Approaching the top turn DARCY’S CURSE shifted in checking MAYWYNS ELECT which lost ground.  Through the top turn ALISHKA checked off the heels of LEIGH’S MIMSEAL and shortly after LEIGH’S MIMSEAL collided with MAYWYNS ELECT.

 

The greyhound MAYWYNS ELECT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

 

Race 3 – Novice 431m

MOKO ROSE HI, HYPNOTIZED and PROTO PENNY were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn SMASHNIAK MARS, DEMOLITION JAZ, RIDES ON SCOOTER, SPLIT SYSTEM and HOT LIKE SUNSET all came together and became unbalanced with RIDES ON SCOOTER losing ground.  Entering the home straight PROTO PENNY shifted out hampering SMASHNIAK MARS.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

The start of this race was delayed as stewards held for an interstate venue.

 

SHAYLOR SHANE was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn SNUBBING UNIT, STORM ROSE HI and SPRING BIG IRON came together and became unbalanced with GOLDNE LENNY which was following inconvenienced.  Entering the back straight WOOROOLIN SHADOW and SHAYLOR SHANE checked off the heels of GOLDEN LENNY.  STORM ROSE HI and SPRING BIG IRON raced tight and bumped through the back straight.  Entering the top turn SNUBBING UNIT improved onto the heels of SPRING BIG IRON forcing this greyhound to lose ground.  Through the top turn SNUBBING UNIT and SHAYLOR SHANE collided.

 

The greyhound SPRING BIG IRON was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade Heat 1 431m

HARNEY was best to begin with WOOROOLIN EASY slow.  Shortly after the start SHE SAID NO and MISS OLYMPIA collided.  Through the 1st turn THREADS came together with LOAD ME UP and was forced to shift out and check TWO BEERS, EFFIE ROSE HI and MISS OLYMPIA.  Approaching the top turn EFFIE ROSE HI and MISS OLYMPIA came together with WOOROOLIN EASY which was following inconvenienced.  MISS OLYMPIA was forced to race wide through the top turn as a result.  THREADS and MISS OLYMPIA were wide in the home straight.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 413m

FEARLOESS DUK was best to begin.  Through the 1st turn JANE’S JEZABEL and LUKAKU came together with LUKAKU becoming unbalanced.  SPANKY’S LEGEND which was following was hampered.  Entering the back straight            ROCK ON ROLLA checked of the heels of SPRING TWIG.  Approaching the top turn ROCK ON ROLLA shifted in tightening ROGUE NINJA.  Through the top turn ROCK ON ROLLA checked off the heels of SPANKY’S LEGEND.  Shortly after, BASHFUL BABE checked off the heels of FEARLESS DUK.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Final 431m

BIG YELLOW TAXI was best to begin with SPECIAL VIRTUE slow.  Shortly after the start UP THE ATTITUDE, BRALYN BAUPLE and FABULOUS STORM were tight and became severely unbalanced.  Leaving the 1st turn UP THE ATTITUDE checked off the heels of MAYWYN WILL WIN.

 

The greyhound FABULOUS STORM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – 4/5th Grade 520m

GATE SLINGER was best to begin.  SPRING BEAUTY, BERRY IN LOVE and ENDLESS SHADOW were tight shortly after the start and BERRY IN LOVE lost ground.  Entering the back straight BERRY IN LOVE checked off the heels of CAP GUN.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade Heat 3 431m

HIGHLIFE, URBAN STREET and GRAVITY WOLF were all well away.  KILTY JACK was slow to begin.  Entering the top turn HIGHLIFE, GRAVITY WOLF and HARA’S SAMUEL collided and became unbalanced and as a result GRAVITY WOLF lost significant ground and MAL ROSE HI which was following was inconvenienced.

 

The greyhound GRAVITY WOLF was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 – 4/5th Grade Heat 4 431m

SPRINKLE DUST was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start DIRTY DESSA checked off the heels of MIDNIGHT OWL.  Through the 1st turn PAM ROSE HI was tightened between TUKULA and AL SENOR and fell taking no competitive part in the event.  Shortly after, INSIDE PASS clipped the heels of MIDNIGHT OWL and became severely unbalanced and lost ground.

 

The greyhound PAM ROSE HI was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
