The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 431m

Even start.  Shortly after the start SWEET MANTRA, MURSLEY BOUNCER and SWEET DIMPLE came together and became unbalanced.  Entering the back straight SWEET DIMPLE improved onto the heels of ALISHKA and both greyhounds became severely unbalanced with SWEET MANTRA which was following also severely hampered.  All 3 greyhounds lost significant ground in this incident.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 431m

NEEDY AND GREEDY was best to begin with HEZA SIZE UP slow.  Through the 1st turn HEZA SIZE UP and SPRING DODGER were tightened between FLYING MAIL and MURBAH GOLD and all greyhounds became unbalanced.  SPRING SHANGHAI which was racing to the outside was also inconvenienced.  Entering the back straight HEZA SIZE UP shifted out checking FLYING MAIL which lost ground, causing interference to SMAUG’S BOUNTY which was following.  Entering the top turn MURBAH GOLD shifted in tightening FLYING MAIL which lost ground.

 

The greyhound FLYING MAIL was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 3 – Novice 431m

SEMI FANTASY, MY FIRST JOKER and VILVANDA were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start SEMI FANTASY and MY FIRST JOKER collided.  Through the 1st turn SEMI FANTASY and MY FIRST JOKER came together and VILVANDA which was following was forced to shift out and lose ground.  VILVANDA was wide into the back straight.

 

The greyhound MY FIRST JOKER was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

MOONSTONE MAGIC, TRIER and DEMOLITION JAZ were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn MOONSTONE MAGIC, DEMOLITION JAZ, COUNTRY CYCLONE, TRIER and SPRING AGUSTUS were all tight and became unbalanced.  Shortly after, COUNTRY CYCLONE checked off the heels of SPRING AGUSTUS.  Passing the catching pen TRIER shifted out hampering SPRING AGUSTUS.  YOWIE HUNTER was wide down the running.

 

Race 5 – Maiden Final 431m

The greyhound ROCKING RONNY which was a starter at Albion Park the previous day underwent a pre race veterinary inspection as a precaution. No apparent injuries were found and the greyhound was passed fit to compete.

 

HARRY BENZ, ROCKET’S ANGEL and READY MADE SIZE were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn interference to the entire field resulted in HARRY BENZ, ROCKET’S ANGEL and SPRING RAYMOND losing ground.  Approaching the top turn SPRING RAYMOND checked off the heels of ROCKET’S ANGEL.  Leaving the top turn READY MADE SIZE checked off the heels of RUBY BELTAH and raced wide into the home straight.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Final 520m

OH THAT’S NICE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start JUST LIKE TINA shifted out hampering SPRING QUARTET while GEORGINA, FYRE GAL and GLENOIT raced tight.  Entering the 1st turn GLENOIT shifted in tightening SPRING FIRECHIEF which was forced to shift out and collided with JUST LIKE TINA, GEORGINA and STRING QUARTET and all 4 greyhounds lost significant ground as a result.  Through the top turn AMY’S ELITE checked off the heels of GLENOIT. Down the home straight GLENOIT and FYRE GAL came together.

 

The greyhound SPRING FIRECHIEF was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade 431m

JANE’S JEZABEL was best to begin while BELLA NARCISSUS, PREMIER BEAR and NOT WORTH IT were slowly away.  Through the 1st turn CANDY CRUSH and MISS OLYMPIA came together.  Shortly after, MISS OLYMPIA checked off the heels of ZARA GIRL.  Entering the home straight CANDY CRUSH shifted out colliding with MISS OLYMPIA and both greyhounds raced tight for a short distance.  MISS OLYMPIA and CANDY CRUSH were wide in the home straight.

 

Race 8 – 4/5th Grade 431m

ELUSIVE STRIKE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start FIERY BENZ, STRIKE A DEAL and NO PRISONERS all bumped.  Entering the top turn NO PRISONERS shifted in tightening STRIKE A DEAL which lost ground.  STRIKE A DEAL was wide into the home straight.

 

The greyhound MACADAM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned on the below market expectation performance trainer Mr. T Brett made reference to the greyhound being kept relatively wide throughout the event which he believed did not allow the greyhound to run up to its usual time.  Stewards noted Mr. Brett’s comments.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade Heat 1 520m

MY EYES ONLY and GLOBAL DEEJAY were best to begin with MERCEDES LASS and ALLEZ DE BRAVE slow.  Entering the 1st turn SOLO MISS and NOIR DIABLO came together and became unbalanced and ALLEZ DE BRAVE which was following was inconvenienced and forced to race wide through the 1st turn.  Passing the catching pen ALLEZ DE BRAVE checked off the heels of MERCEDES LASS.

 

Race 10 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 520m

BRALYN AMY was slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn FAR FROM FEAR and WAIKARIE WARRIOR collided and became severely unbalanced with BRALYN AMY and GIGGLING BEACH which were following also severely inconvenienced.  Approaching the top turn GIGGLING BEACH tightened WAIKARIE WARRIOR.

 

The greyhound WAIKARIE WARRIOR was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
