SITELLA was best to begin. Through the 1st turn BIG BOY BETRO, SHE’S NO SAINT, NAT MAN, SPRING RAYMOND and TENTHILL TIGER all came together and became unbalanced. BUSH SPIRIT which was following was also inconvenienced. Through the back straight SHE’S NO SAINT checked off the heels of NAT MAN. Through the top turn SPRING RAYMOND improved onto the heels of BIG BOY BETRO and both greyhounds became unbalanced with BIG BOY BETRO losing ground. Down the home straight TENTHILL TIGER shifted out marred the running of SPRING RAYMOND.
Stewards advised trainer Ms. S White that the greyhound TENTHILL TIGER would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.
PENNYLESS was best to begin with SPRING SHANGHAI slow. Through the 1st turn GOTTA GET UP, MUM GOTTA GUN, SPRING SHANGHAI and STEALTH MODE were all tight and bumping. BETTY’S GEM which was racing to the outside was also inconvenienced. Shortly after, PENNYLESS was tightened between MCCAW MCCAW and SWINFORD LASS, both of which shifted and all 3 greyhounds became severely unbalanced and lost ground. BETTY’S GEM which was following was severely inconvenienced. Leaving the top turn MCCAW MCCAW checked off the heels of STEALH MODE.
The greyhound BETTY’S GEM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
The
greyhound SWINFORD LASS was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
Race 3 – Maiden Final 431m
HEZA SIZE UP was slow to begin. Through the 1st turn NEEDY AND GREEDY, PAPER SHOT and SWEET MANTRA came together. Shortly after, SWEET MANTRA, SWEET DIMPLE and ALISHKA all collided and ALISHKA lost ground. Entering the back straight HEZA SIZE UP improved onto the heels of NEEDY AND GREEDY checking this greyhound and forcing it to lose momentum. Entering the top turn NEEDY AND GREEDY improved onto the heels of PAPER SHOT and both greyhounds lost ground. ALISHKA and SWEET MANTRA came together entering the home straight. Through the home straight ALISHKA turned its head outwards towards SWEET MANTRA.
The greyhound ALISHKA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. K Ollerton that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all track.
Race 4 – Novice 431m
ON TIGHT LINES was best to begin with SPRING AGUSTUS slow. Through the 1st turn YOWIE HUNTER checked off the heels of PROTO PENNY and lost ground. YOWIE HUNTER was wide through the back straight.
Race 5 – 5th
Grade Heat 1 520m
MOCHA LATTE was best to begin. Shortly after the start RYLEE’S ROULETTE, BASHFUL BABE and TRAP MAN were tight and unbalanced and BASHFUL BABE lost ground. Approaching the 1st turn GIGGLING BEACH was tightened between MAJESTIC JESTER and TRAP MAN and BASHFUL BABE which were following were hampered. Approaching the top turn BASHFUL BABE and MAJESTIC JESTER came together.
The greyhound MAJESTIC JESTER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned on the poor performance trainer Mr. C Campbell advised stewards that the greyhound had trailed well on the Saturday previous and he did expect a forward showing from the greyhound tonight. Mr. Campbell made reference to early interference suffered by the greyhound and advised stewards that he believed the greyhound would weaken over the concluding stages, however he did expect a better performance than what was displayed in this event. He further added that he would be looking to trial the greyhound again before its next race start and possibly dropping the greyhound back to the 431m distance. Stewards noted the comments and advised Mr. Campbell that the greyhound’s performance was bordering on unsatisfactory.
Race 6 – 5th
Grade Heat 2 520m
BELLA NARCISSUS, FYRE GAL and SPRING OUT were slow to begin. Approaching the top turn SHIFT SEINE shifted in tightening EBONY’S SECRET. Through the top turn EBONY’S SECRET and SHIFT SEINE came together and lost ground and BELLA NARCISSUS which was following was inconvenienced.
The greyhound SHIFT SEINE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 7 – 4/5th Grade Final 520m
SOLO MISS was best to begin. Immediately after the start MY BLACK LORIAN and MY EYES ONLY came together and became unbalanced. Through the 1st turn MY EYES ONLY and ELUSIVE SPARKLE bumped. Through the top turn FAR FROM FEAR and SOLO MISS were tight. GLOBAL DEEJAY and FAR FROM FEAR came together on entering the home straight.
Race 8 – Best 8 431m
YALINGA was best to begin. Shortly after the start EARNED TALKING appeared to sustain an injury and took no further competitive part in the event. Shortly after, FASHION ADVICE and LOTUS BLOSSOM came together. Through the 1st turn MR. TRANSPORTER and HOPPING HOUDINI came together. Shortly after, FASHION ADVICE shifted out hampering LOTUS BLOSSOM which lost momentum.
The
greyhound EARNED TALKING was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 21 days.
Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m
BARCELLA was best to begin with SPRING TWIG and KILTY JACK slow. Shortly after the start DIANNE’S PEARL and ZARA GIRL collided. Through the 1st turn ZARA GIRL was tightened as SPRING TWIG improved to its inside and lost ground as a result. Entering the back straight SWITCH BLADE and SPRING TWIG came together and SWITCH BLADE lost ground. DIANNE’S PEARL was wide in the back straight. Entering the top turn KILTY JACK shifted in tightening SWITCH BLADE. KILTY JACK was wide entering the home straight.
Race 10 – 4/5th Grade 431m
OVER HERE was best to begin with ELUSIVE STRIKE slow. Shortly after the start SUNDAY SUNRISE shifted out tightening OUT WEST, BAREFOOT BOY and WALLY WHO CALLS. Through the 1st turn OUT WEST, BAREFOOT BOY and WALLY WHO CALLS were tight and BAREFOOT BOY and OUT WEST lost ground. Entering the back straight BAREFOOT BOY checked off the heels of OUT WEST and lost ground.
The greyhound BAREFOOT BOY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. When questioned on the performance trainer Mr. J McHugh alluded to the interference suffered by the greyhound early in the race and the significant ground that it did lose in these incidents. Mr. McHugh advised that he would be looking to nominate the greyhound for Coonamble in the near future should the greyhound recover well from this event. Mr. McHugh undertook to advise stewards should any abnormalities come to light with the greyhound in the subsequent days. Stewards noted Mr. McHugh’s comments.
