GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden 520m

VELOCITY SAXA was best to begin with ARABELLA and SLEDGE HAMMER slowly away.  On the turn out of the home straight PENNYLESS and SLEDGE HAMMER were wide.  In the home straight VELICITY SAXA and RYAN ROAD were wide.

 

Race 2 – Novice 431m

BOMBAY ROLLER and GOOD GESTURE were best to begin with the remainder evenly away.  Soon after the start GOOD GESTURE and TEN CENT TOSCA collided.  Entering the back straight BOMBAY ROLLER and GOOD GESTURE collided with TEN CENT TOSCA and BLACK DASH also colliding.  In the back straight HOBO JANE was wide.  On the top turn BOMBAY ROLLER checked off the heels of HOBO JANE.  In the home straight SCAR’S BROTHER was wide.

 

The greyhound BOMBAY ROLLER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Novice 520m

EYES ON ME was best to begin with LEGACY CHIEF slowly away.  Soon after the start MAGIC SPARKLE and LEGACY CHIEF collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight SEMI FANTASY checked off the heels of FLYING CIRCUS causing SEMI FANTASY to check JUST SPIFING and LEGACY CHIEF with STEALTH FIGHTER and MAGIC SPARKLE colliding causing MAGIC SPARKLE to check off the heels of JUST SPIFFING.  In the back and home straights EL MUFASA was wide.

 

The greyhound SEMI FANTASY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind toe and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 4 – Ipswich Cup Heat 1 520m

Even start.  Entering the turn out of the home straight HEAD SHY checked off the heels of ASTOUND YA causing HEAD SHY to check CHEEKY CHANCE causing HEAD SHY to shift out checking SPACECRAFT with these 2 greyhounds wide on the turn.  In the back and home straight SPACECRAFT was wide.

 

The greyhound SPACECRAFT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – Ipswich Cup Heat 2 520m

CERVELO and APATITE were best to begin with SPRING BEAUTY and FLASH HOUDINI slowly away.  Soon after the start SMOKEM UP SMOKEY and SWAP YA collided.  On the turn out of the home straight SMOKEM UP SMOKEY checked off the heels of SPRING BONANZA causing SMOKEM UP SMOKEY to check SWAP YA and POCAHONTAS causing these 2 greyhounds to take no further competitive part in the event.  In the back straight SPRING BONANZA was wide.  In the home straight APATITE was wide.

 

The greyhound SWAP YA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 - Ipswich Cup Heat 3 520m

TITAN ASH and NOT THE ONE were best to begin with VEGAS BOUND slowly away.  Approaching the turn out of the home straight MACIE’S DINGO and HOPPING HOUDINI collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight TITAN ASH and NOT THE ONE collided causing NOT THE ONE to fall checking NORM THE STORM and VEGAS BOUND with these 2 greyhounds taking no further competitive part in the event.  In the home straight MACIE’S DINGO was wide.

 

The greyhound NOT THE ONE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near hind and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 7 – Ipswich Cup Heat 4 520m

SHEZA KEEN SIZE was best to begin with MAYWYN’S COPY slowly away.  Soon after the start YOGI BLUE tailed off taking no further competitive part in the event.  Entering the turn out of the home straight SPRING MILLIE checked off the heels of CASH IN MOTION.  Entering the back straight PAY DA BAND tailed off taking no further competitive part in the event.  KNIGHTS TEMPLAR was wide in the back straight.  In the home straight MAYWYN’S COPY was wide.

 

The greyhound YOGI BLUE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.

 

The greyhound PAY DA BAND was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.

 

Race 8 - Ipswich Cup Heat 5 520m

HOUGENIE ands MACNIVEK were best to begin with GEORGINA slowly away.  Soon after the start GOLD HARD TRUTH and FROSTY JAY JAY collided.  Entering the turn out of the home straight GEORGINA and BLUE HOUDINI collided causing BLUE HOUDINI to check off the heels of COLD HARD TRUTH.  On the turn out of the home straight FROSTY JAY JAY was wide.  In the home straight HOUGENIE was wide.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m

MINI OREO was best to begin with GARRANGAY DUK slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight SIDBO checked off the heels of OUT OF BOUNDS causing OUT OF BOUNDS to shift out checking GARRANGAY DUK.  In the back straight MINI OREO dropped back sharply for no apparent reason.  In the home straight GUN LEGACY and DOWN THEY CAME were wide.

 

The greyhound MINI OREO was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 10 – 4/5th Grade 431m

HEZ SO FAST was best to begin with SHANGHAI LIL and TARA MARRIE slowly away.  Soon after the start SHANGHAI LIL and TARA MARRIE collided.  Entering the back straight KLOEIS PRIDE, SHANGHAI LIL and TARA MARRIE all collided.  In the back straight KLOEIS PRIDE and HARNEY collided.  Entering the top turn TARA MARRIE checked off the heels of KLOEIS PRIDE.  In the home straight MAYWYN PETTYCASH was wide.
