GENERAL

 

The greyhound DEFIANT performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.87.

 

The greyhound IPSWICH MELODY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 26.37 and is cleared all tracks.

 

The greyhound GAGAN NANCY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.65 and is cleared all tracks up except Ipswich until after 14 December 2015.

 

Trainer Mr. P Ruetschi was fined $100 under Rule 23 for failing to scratch the greyhound READY MADE SIZE.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 431m

LADY TECHNO and VELOCITY EBONY were best to begin.  AUGUST FLAME stumbled soon after the start.  Soon after the start LOGGER PEPPER and LADY TECHNO collide causing LADY TECHNO to drop back checking ALISHKA.  Entering the back straight PENNYLESS was checked of the heels of AUGUST FLAME forcing PENNYLESS wide into the back straight.  On the top turn MADDY’S RASCAL and LADY TECHNO collided in the home straight.  ALISHKA was wide.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 431m

COOL GUY was best away with TRICODE ALL SHOW slowly away.  Soon after the start ROSCO BANG BANG and YAMANTO collided with RYAN ROAD and MAYWYN’S HOPE colliding.  Entering the back straight YAMANTO shifted in checking ROSCO BANG BANG causing YAMANTO to fall and ROSCO BANG BANG to falter, taking no further competitive part in the event.  In the back straight RYAN ROAD was wide.  Entering the top turn MAYWYN’S HOPE and RYAN ROAD collided.  In the home straight RYAN ROAD and MAYWYN’S HOPE were racing tight and bumping.

 

The greyhound YAMANTO was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Final 431m

FABULOUS HOPE was best away with GIFTED ANGEL slowly away.  Entering the turn into the home straight MAYWYN IF LUCKY and MCCAW MCCAW were racing tight and bumping with CYNO SNIP wide.

 

The greyhound MCCAW MCCAW was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

FABULOUS KATIE was best away with GOTTA GET UP slowly.  Entering the turn into the back straight VENETIAN RESULTS, BOLD AS BRASH, MAX WEDGE and FABULOUS KATIE all collided.  The turn into the back straight VENETIAN RESULTS checked off the heels of SPRITLY LADY.  In the back straight BOLD AS BRASH checked off the heels of MAX WEDGE.  In the back straight MAX WEDGE was wide.  On the top turn VENETIAN RESULTS was wide.

 

The greyhound VENETIAN RESULTS was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 431m

GUNNER and RYLEE’S RING IN were best away with MIGHTY OAK slowly away.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SPRING PLANET, SPRING BLUESTONE and PEBBLE BAY all collided, causing PEBBLE BAY to drop back checking MIGHTY OAK.  In the back straight RYLEE’S RING IN was wide.  In the home straight GUNNER checked off the heels of RYLEE’S RING IN causing GUNNER to falter, and causing RYLEE’S RING IN to race wide.

 

The greyhound GUNNER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SPRING BLUESTONE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade Heat 1 520m

SPRING FIRECHIEF was best away with the rest evenly away.  Soon after the start TECHNO LADY, PARCHMENT, SPRING SHANHAI and BULL TITAN all collided.  On the turn out of the home straight NOIR DIABLO and BULL TITAN collided.  Entering the back straight SPRING FIRECHIEF and NOIR DIABLO collided causing SPRING FIRECHIEF to check RATATAT.  In the back straight TECHNO LADY was wide.  Entering the home straight RATATAT and PARCHMENT collided.  In the home straight TECHNO LADY was wide.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 520m

LUKAKU and QUEEN CLEO were best away with the rest evenly away.  Approaching the winning post on the first occasion BEACH FRONT eased and took no further competitive part in the event.  On the turn out of the home straight and back straight PEARLS ANGEL was wide.  In the home straight FYRE GAL was wide.

 

The greyhound PEARLS ANGEL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BEACH FRONT was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip support and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

The connections of PEARLS ANGEL were questioned by stewards regarding the greyhound’s performance. The Trainer Ms F. Guymer stated that the greyhound has difficulty handling Ipswich Track.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade Final 520m

MAURY SPIRIT was best away with the rest evenly away.  On the turn out of the home straight GEORGE GALLAN and JUST SPIFFING collided.  In the back straight GEORGE GALLON was wide.  In the home straight GEORGE GALLON and JUST SPIFFING were wide.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m

OUR MAGIC BOY and MURSLEY BOUNCER were best away with CARIBBEAN JET slowly away.  Entering in the back straight WILD ELITE checked off the heels of MURSLEY BOUNCER causing WILD ELITE to check KLOEIS PRIDE, causing KLOEIS PRIDE to check SPRING DODGER.  In the back straight WIDE ELITE and CARIBBEAN JET were wide.  In the top turn and home straight CARIBBEAN JET was wide.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

DIANNE’S PEARL was best away with SPRING IT ON slowly away.  Soon after the start LOGGER COOPER and SMART HORNET collided, with TWO BEERS and DOOLEY’S FIT also colliding.  Entering the back straight TWO BEERS and DOOLEY’S FIT collided, causing DOOLEY’S FIT to check SPRING IT ON.  Entering the turn out of the back straight PURELY PENNY and SWEET DIMPLE collided.  Entering the home straight SMART HORNET was wide.
