Trainer Mr. A Kennewell when given the opportunity explained that RUSTY’S IMAGE races best when it leading.  He stated that he expected a forward showing of the greyhound today as it had been in career best form and had worked well leading up to today’s event. He stated that he had not supported RUSTY’S IMAGE only due to the fact that he expected the greyhound to be at odds to sort that he would not support the greyhound.  He further stated that RUSTY’S IMAGE began well but was tightened for racing room leading into the 1st turn which in his view contributed mainly to the fact that RUSTY’S IMAGE could not lead in today’s race.  He stated that RUSTY’S IMAGE’s usual racing pattern is to race wide in the back and front straights which may have also contributed to his performance today after losing the significant ground. Evidence from RQ betting analyst Mr. M Heffernan revealed that there was a significant lay on Betfair against RUSTY’S IMAGE. Mr A Kennwell’s  explanation was noted however future performances of RUSTY’S IMAGE will be closely monitored.
