Race 5 SMASHNIAK MARS Injured in running, near side hock, 12 weeks
The greyhound TRANSMEDIA performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.49 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.
GO FOR HOME was slow to begin. Through the 1st turn MAYWYN SENOR and SPEAR IT were hampered and lost their positions. Leaving the 1st turn ALLEAH’S WARRIOR shifted in resulting in YOU MAYBE RIGHT being checked and losing ground. Over the final 20m ALLEAH’S WARRIOR failed to pursue the lure. MAYWYN SENOR and CYNO MIRAGE both raced wide throughout.
The greyhound STILL COMING was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Rolls
that the greyhound ALLEAH’S WARRIOR would be charged under Rule 69 (B) Failing
to Pursue, 1st offence, was vetted and found to have suffered an
injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 14 days plus a
satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.
ROSDUE GOANNA was slow to begin. Into the 1st turn ASTIN’S WARRIOR, JACK AND JILL, SAY SOMETHING, PARTY FOR TWO and SHE MAYWYN were all tightened to varying degrees and all suffered interference. Approaching the back turn MAKE THE MOST lost ground appearing injured. SAY SOMETHING and ROSDUE GOANNA both raced wide throughout.

vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near fore toe and was stood
down for a period of 28 days.

3 – Maiden 431m
Even start. DODGY DANCER raced wide throughout.

4 – Novice 431m
KAR BLU was slow to begin. Into the 1st turn GALWAY SUPERSTAR and OUR ISLAND HOME bumped resulting in OUR ISLAND HOME becoming unbalanced. Through the 1st turn SKITTISH EXPRESS checked off the heels of GUMTREE KID and lost its position. FAMOUS FOR FUN and KAR BLU both raced wide for the majority.

5 – Novice 431m
Even start. Into the 1st turn MITCHIE MADAM, FUNKY TOWN, CHEEKY CHEECH, MANHATTAN MISS and SMASHNIAK MARS all raced tight resulting in SMASHNIAK MARS becoming unbalanced and MANHATTAN MISS losing ground. Leaving the 1st turn SMASHNIAK MARS checked off the heels of RODSUE SPRITE, MANHATTAN MISS which was following received interference. Shortly after SMASHNIAK MARS sustained an injury and took no further competitive part in the event. Rounding the home turn FUNKY TOWN eased and ran off the track taking no further competitive part in the event. ROSDUE SPRITE raced wide throughout.
The greyhound FUNKY TOWN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. W Thomson that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.
The greyhound SMASHNIAK MARS was
vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side hock and was stood
down for a period of 12 weeks.

6 – 5th Grade Heat 1 431m
SPRING RAYMOND was slow to begin. Into the 1st turn SCAR’S BROTHER, DIRTY DESSA, SUPER SOOK, DOOLEY’S FIT, SOCIAL DANCER and TEMNICK all raced tight and suffering interference to varying degrees. Leaving the back turn SCAR’S BROTHER and DOOLEY’S FIT bumped, resulting in DOOLEY’S FIT becoming unbalanced. Approaching the back turn SPRING RAYMOND improved onto heels and lost ground. SUPER SOOK raced wide for the majority.
The greyhound DOOLEY’S FIT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

7 – 3/4th Grade 431m
SPRING DODGER and HECTORMALEE were both slow to begin. Into the 1st turn MAYWYN ZILCH checked off the heels of OAKEY PARK. Leaving the 1st turn SPRING DODGER was tightened for room and lost its position and shifted wider. Approaching the back turn KING ELLIOT was tightened for room and lost ground. Rounding the home turn KING’S GEM checked off the heels of MAYWYN ZILCH.

8 – 4/5th Grade Final 431m
OUR MAGIC BOY was best to begin. Into the 1st turn MAGIC ANGEL was bumped and became unbalanced. SPANKY’S LEGEND, PREMIER JET and FARMOR MAYHEM which were following were all inconvenienced and lost ground. Approaching the back turn GET INVOLVED shifted checking the running of FARMOR MAYHEM causing FARMOR MAYHEM to lose ground.
Race 9 – 5th Grade Heat 2 431m
SNOWBALL BOB was slow to begin. Into the 1st turn BAGO BETSY was bumped and became unbalanced. Approaching the back turn MISS JAX was tightened for room and lost ground. MAGICAL GIRL and READY TO RULE both raced wide for the majority.

10 – 5th Grade Heat 3 431m
Even start. Leaving the 1st turn FEAR THE RECALL, COOL CREDIT and SPRING BIT IRON all raced tight resulting in SPRING BIG IRON being checked from heels. FEAR THE RECALL and PEBBLE BAY both raced wide for the majority.
