General: Race 4 was declared a no race due to a malfunction with the lure which cause it to surge on the home turn, in the opinion of the stewards this had material effect on the outcome of the race therefore acting under the provisions of GAR 109(3) declared the event a No Race.

Race 1 – GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MDNPW 390m

 

1 Bogie Nicole - Proved difficult to box at the start of the race. Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR 106(2) advised trainer Mick Campbell that the greyhound will now be boxed first for future race starts.

 

 

Race 2 – GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 390m

Race 3 – LADBROKES SRM IN MULTIS MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 390m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 4 – LADBROKES MATES MODE POTS GRADE 5 (1) 390m

 

Race 4 was declared a no race due to a malfunction with the lure which cause it to surge on the home turn, in the opinion of the stewards this had material effect on the outcome of the race therefore acting under the provisions of GAR 109(3) declared the event a No Race.

 

 

Race 5 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY GRADE 5 (2) 390m

 

4 Sorry Nan – Checked in the back straight, severely checked on the home turn.

Eased and turned its head outwards towards another runner taking its attention away from the lure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Steward’s spoke to trainers representative Bailey Dargusch regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to purse 1st offence – 28 days stand down at Q1 Lakeside and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

 

Race 6 - ROSEWOOD VETERINARY SERVICE GRADE 5 (1) 390m

 

4 Cyclone Sammy – Checked in the back straight then trailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside hip support injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 14 days.

 

 

Race 7 - LADBROKES ODDS SURGE MIXED 3/4 390m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 8 - ONE TURN RACING @ THE Q 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 390m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 9 - LADBROKES BLACK BOOK GRADE 5 (2) 390m

Race 11 - ONE TURN RACING @ THE Q 5PW 390m

 

7 Rachel Sparkles – Performed below market expectations. Checked entering the home turn, severely checked on the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Trainer Ron Brook stated that he expected the greyhound to perform well today and after the interference throughout the run he was happy with the greyhound’s performance. He further stated that he did support the greyhound in today’s event. Stewards noted the submissions.
