VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

 

Race 7             ELLIE POPPINS

Race 2             MARSHA LADY                  Injured in running, off hind muscle, 21 days

Race 8             FIVE FAT LADIES               Injured in running, off hind leg, 10 days

 

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 407m

FITZROY RISING, MISS RADRADRA and SOBER MAGGIE were all slow to begin. MISS RADRADRA and SOBER MAGGIE both raced wide throughout the race.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 407m

MERLINS GRACE, LIL’ BLUE and MARSHA LADY were all slow to begin.  In the back straight MARSHA LADY pulled up on its own accord and finished the race tailed off.  Near the 630m boxes OH THE SHAME shifted out and checked PURPLE MIST on three occasions causing both greyhounds to check and lose ground.

 

MARSHA LADY was vet checked and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind muscle and was suspended for a period of 21 days.

 

Race 3 – Novice 407m

OVERDRIVE SPEED and OLD CROONER were slow to begin.  WYND HIM UP raced wide throughout the race.

 

Race 4 – 2/3 Grade 407m

VELOCITY LOU was slow to begin.  MADE TO ORDER and VELOCITY LOU both raced wide throughout the race.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 407m

SHAYLOR CHASE and NELLIE’S JOKER were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start OUTLAW CHARLIE shifted out and checked EARNER BOB.  Near the catching pen EARNER BOB shifted out wide and checked heavily with SHAYLOR CHASE.  Near the 630m boxes VANICKERS raced onto the heels of EARNER BOB. SHAYLOR CHASE and VANICKERS checked in the home straight. NELLIE’S JOKER raced wide throughout the race.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade 407m

Clean start. Near the catching pens KYAMMY and REFUND shifted in and checked LACK OF PATIENCE causing it to lose ground.  MR NORD raced wide throughout the race.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade 510m

MIGHTY AWESOME was slow to begin.  MR WHITE and MIGHTY AWESOME raced wide throughout the race.  On the home turn DEAR DAPHNEY checked off the heels of VALENTINE RAY and lost ground.  ELLIE POPPINS finished the race tailed off.  Trainer Chris Tory was advised that a warning had been placed on his greyhound ELLIE POPPINS for an unsatisfactory performance.

 

ELLIE POPPINS was vet checked and no apparent injury was found.

 

Race 8 – 4/5th Grade Final 407m

PAR DE FIR and MARINA’S DOLL were slow to begin.  Near the catching pen LITTLE STATE shifted out and checked heavily with PAR DE FIR. PAR DE FIR raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race.

 

FIVE FAT LADIES was vet checked and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind leg and was suspended for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 407m

SHAYLOR BACARDI, TOPPER WEBB and BOGIE DANCER were all slow to begin.  BOGIE DANCER raced wide throughout the race.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 407m

KOTA MAY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start KELLER BEACH shifted out and checked heavily with MY TINY SIZE.  Near the catching pen BIG TEE SAL shifted out and checked with SUPERSONIC SHAK.  KOTA MAY raced wide throughout the race.
