VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden 510m

Shortly after the start TIPPETT AND RUN shifted in and inconvenienced LITTLE DINA.  On the first turn SAVANNAH’S GIRL shifted out and checked with LITTLE DINA who shifted out and checked TIPPETT AND RUN and ROMELDA.  LITTLE DINA, LAKODA VIPER and ROMELDA have all raced wide through the catching pen.

 

Race 2 – Novice 407m

DEB’S PENNY and NICKO FERNANDO were slow to begin.  Near the catching pen TOP EARNER shifted out and inconvenienced VELOCITY CHRIS.  VELOCITY CHRIS ran wide down the back straight.  At the 630m boxes TOP EARNER lost ground sharply and compounded for the remainder of the race.

 

TOP EARNER was vet checked but no apparent injury was found.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 407m

OVERDRIVE SPEED was slow to begin.  Near the catching pen KUBU BEACH checked PURE LEE RED causing PURE LEE RED to lose considerable ground and shift out wide and check with HEXENBEAST and TARAWI MAX.  TARAWI MAX and OCCY CUT BACK raced tightly around the home turn.

 

PURE LEE RED was vet checked but no apparent injury was found.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade 407m

Shortly after the start TRACKIE CHAN shifted out and applied pressure to KING’S SON.  Through general tightening CONRAD, SWEET WILLOW and HANIFY’S REVENGE all checked causing severe interference to SWEET WILLOW.

 

SWEET WILLOW was vet checked but no apparent injury was found.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 407m

Near the catching pen SHAYLOR TAMMY and VELOCITY ECLIPSE raced tightly causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  CRAY CRAY checked off the heels of PERFECT MUM in the home straight.

 

FITZROY RISING was vet checked but no apparent injury was found.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade 407m

Near the catching pen WILBY DUSTY, FLOW BLACK and PACIFIC SPRING all raced tightly causing WILBY DUSTY and FLOW BLACK to lose ground.  On the home turn VELOCITY ELLE has checked off the heels of SHAYLOR BACARDI and lost ground.

 

Race 7 – 4th Grade 407m

Near the catching pen SUMMAH’S KNIGHT, BUSBY and EXTREME LEVEL checked causing some interference to these greyhounds.  Near the 630m boxes BUSBY shifted inwards and inconvenienced SUMMAH’S KNIGHT causing SUMMAH’S KNIGHT to lose ground.

 

Race 8 – Christmas Cup 510m

LAKODA LOCHIE, COSMIC WATERS and MIGHTY AWESOME were all slow to begin.  On the first turn COSMIC WATERS has checked off the heels of LAKODA LOCHIE and BOGARD BLEND. BOGIE’S A STAR tired in the concluding stages of the race.

 

Race 9 – Best 8 407m

Near the catching pen COSMIC EYE, KELLER BEACH and MISS O’NEIL checked causing some interference to all three runners.

 

Race 10 – Masters 407m

SUPERCELL stumbled as the boxes opened and began awkwardly. Near the catching pen TRADE IN and NELLIE’S JOKER checked and caused interference to REDNECK BOYD. On the home turn SUPERCELL checked off the heels of ICKLE PICKLE.
