The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound COBBIN performed a successful Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 380m in a time of 22.37 seconds.

 

The greyhound BEHM performed a successful Return to Racing Trial 2 over the distance of 380m in a time of 22.32 seconds.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 380m

RHONDA JOAN was best to begin.  BENNY BROOK and ELUSIVE DIVA were both slowly away. LAID BACK LAD was wide throughout.

 

The greyhound BENNY BROOK was vetted post race and was found to have sustained an injury to its off side thigh and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 2 – Novice 380m

EVEN start.  Shortly after the start BUCKAROO SUE was tightened between runners losing momentum and significant ground.  Approaching the 1st turn EXPRESS PASS shifted out across the running of MISTIFIDE. Both greyhounds were inconvenienced and, as a result, EXPRESS PASS raced wide for the remainder of the event.

 

The greyhound BUCKAROO SUE was vetted post-race and no abnormalities were revealed.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 380m

The greyhound ELLY NORA, which was a late withdrawal at 7:12pm after being found to be seasonal upon retrieval from its kennel pre race was stood for a period of 28 days.

 

ON DECK was best to begin.  BELLE SIND, WILLIAM MAC, SHARINA BEAR and LISTEN all lost ground due to general tightening approaching the 1st turn.  Through the 1st turn SHARINA BEAR was inconvenienced after improving onto the heels of LISTEN. ON DECK and SMILEY FEE FEE came together at the home turn.  As a result SMILEY FEE FEE became unbalanced and shifted out onto the running of WILLIAM MAC which was inconvenienced. PURE BEKIM was wide at the home turn.

 

The greyhound SHARINA BEAR was vetted post race and was found to have sustained an injury to its off side hind hamstring and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

 

 

Race 4 – 0 – 3 Wins 498m

BEACH FRONT was best to begin.  Shortly after the start COSMIC LAMP lost ground when tightened for running between RICHTER SCALE and BELIMBA HUSTLER which was shifting in.  Through the 1st turn RICHTER SCALE shifted out across the heels of BELIMBA HUSTLER onto the running of COSMIC LAMP which was inconvenienced.  In the back straight MAYWYN’S JOSH, when in clear running, faltered in its action and lost momentum, taking no further competitive part in the event.

 

The greyhound MAYWYN’S JOSH was vetted post-race and was found to have sustained an injury to its off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 5 – 4th Grade 380m

Shortly after the start ABBI’S PRINCESS lost ground when severely tightened for running between BLUE HOUDINI and RAILROAD ROCKET which was shifting in.  Through the top turn RAILROAD ROCKET was inconvenienced after improving onto the heels of TICKFORD.

 

Race 6 – 4th Grade 380m

The greyhound COSMIC FREEZE, which was a late withdrawal at kenneling due to an injured off side hind toe, was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

ZIPPING CARLTON, SENOR AL and MINGELA COSMO were all slowly into stride.  Approaching the top turn SENOR AL was severely checked after improving onto the heels of EMINEM BLUE GIRL which was also inconvenienced. MINGELA COSMO was wide at the home turn.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade 498m

The greyhound MR. HOPPINS, which was a late withdrawal at kenneling due to weight variation was stood down for a period of 10 days.  Trainer Mr. H Ardle was fined the sum of $50 under the provisions of GAR 39.

 

POWER CELL began awkwardly. General tightening in the run to the 1st turn resulted in interference to the running of POWER CELL, ZAMBEZI ROCK, PRIVATE TALK and REECY GOGOLAC. All 4 greyhounds were checked to varying degrees. POWER CELL and REECY GOGOLAC came together entering the back straight. REECY GOGOLAC became unbalanced and lost ground as a result.

 

Race 8 – RQ Young Guns Final 498m

The greyhound SLASHIN’ PETE, which was a late withdrawal at kenneling due to injuries to both hind feet, was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

MAYWYNS MARTY was best to begin.  CAPTAIN LONESTAR and SCORPIO JAY both dwelt at the start.  At the 1st turn SELFIE lost ground when tightened for running between CAPTAIN LONESTAR and DEBORAH ROSE which was shifting in.  POISED TO POUNCE and MAYWYNS MARTY came together entering the back straight. MAYWYNS MARTY became unbalanced, losing significant ground and racing wide.  VAPOUR FLIGHT also raced wide through the back straight.  On straightening SCORPIO JAY shifted out across the running of SELFIE which was inconvenienced.

 

Race 9 – Best 8 380m

The greyhound PHOTO BOOTH was withdrawn by Trainer Mr. G Olsen at 6:15pm on Monday May 11th due to a near side hip support injury.  Due to a technical issue with the Racing Queensland recorded service, the scratching information was not received by Racing Queensland until 10:30am on Tuesday May 12th. PHOTO BOOTH was subsequently stood down for a period of 10 days. No further action is required from Mr. Olsen.

 

SEE SENORA began well.  Shortly after the start DIVVY UP and AVONDALE TARA came together heavily.  As a result AVONDALE TARA faltered in its action and lost momentum, taking no further competitive part in the event.

 

The greyhound AVONDALE TARA was vetted post-race and was found to have sustained an injury to its near side fore wrist and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 380m

BOLD DEBREE was best to begin.  VELOCITY KYZON was slowly into stride. Shortly after the start GUNNADOO SECRET lost ground when tightened for running between KING ROCKSTAR and BLACK DENIM which was shifting in.  Approaching the 1st turn KING ROCKSTAR shifted in checking the running of ELKINGTON which lost ground. ELKINGTON was wide at the home turn.
