VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

Race 1 – Maiden 380m

ASA ENSEE FLY was the best to begin.  BON ECHO was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start.  RHONDA’S DYNO checked off IN THE BAZZA and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight causing interference to OCTAVIAN.

 

Race 2 – Novice 380m

Trainer, R. Lound, was fined $100 under the provisions of GAR 23.2 for failing to scratch HI HOMBRE by the appointed time.

 

Even start with MID WESTERN GIRL slow to begin.  NASRI checked off TONI’S QUITE and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight causing some interference to MID WESTERN GIRL.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 380m

Even start.  OUR MADAM was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.  RHONDA’S TEARS checked off ELLIE’S VOLUNTAS and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.  RHONDA’S TEARS checked off VELOCITY KYZON and lost ground approaching the turn into the front straight resulting in COBBIN racing on to the heels of RHONDA’S TEARS.  OUR MADAM checked across the heels of PRINCE OF DOOM and bumped BELOCITY KYZON on the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 4 – 4/5th Grade 498m

COAL CHEETAH was the best to begin.  BELIMBA HUSTLER was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start.  LISTEN was tightened for racing room and lost ground on the turn into the back straight.  BELIMBA HUSTLER and LISTEN bumped heavily and lost considerable ground entering the back straight.  Both greyhounds were inspected by the veterinarian after the race.  COAL CHEETAH raced wide into and down the home straight.

 

Race 5 – RQ Young Guns Heat 1 380m

Even start.  ELUSIVE DIVA was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.  THANK YOU POP checked off WILDASH WILDFIRE and lost ground towards the end of the back straight.  General tightening occurred on the turn out of the back straight resulting in some inconvenience to the majority of the field with FEAR ANDY losing considerable ground.  ELUSIVE DIVA checked across the heels of WILDASH WILDFIRE in the front straight.

 

Race 6 - RQ Young Guns Heat 2 380m

WILDASH REV was the best to begin.  LIBERTY LEGS was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.  ASA EXTREME checked off MY ACHIEVER and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight causing interference to SNEAKIN’ ROUND.  MY ACHIEVER shifted out on the turn into the front straight bumping ZIPPING BUBBA out on to LIBERTY LEGS.

 

Race 7 – 3/4th Grade 380m

Even start.  COOL SPRITE checked off ZIPPING CARLTON on the turn out of the back straight causing interference to POST BOX.  GUNNADOO SECRET and GUNNADOO DELTA bumped entering the home straight.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 380m

Even start with ALL BUT CENTRE slow to begin.  BENEDICT GEOFF and COSMIC FREEZE were tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start resulting in ALL BUT CENTRE checking off the heels of BENEDICT GEOFF.  EUNICE LILLIAN checked off SINDARYN and lost ground towards the end of the back straight.  ARE ATE and BLUE STITCH bumped heavily on the turn out of the back straight resulting in both greyhounds losing considerable ground.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 380m

KEWIN UP was scratched by Stewards at kenneling on veterinary advice.

 

Even start.  MINGELA COSMO lost ground on the turn out of the back straight and took no further competitive part in the race.  A veterinary inspection of the greyhound revealed a fracture to the off hock.  CAPTAIN LONESTAR and BALZAREEN bumped on several occasions in the front straight resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 380m

Even start.  SCORPIO JAY was tightened for racing room between BRILLIANT EMMA and BUCKAROO SUE on the turn out of the back straight resulting in SCORPIO JAY losing ground back on to TREADSTONE CAIN who fell.  SCORPIO JAY also fell caused interference to BUCKAROO SUE, NANIERNA and ZAYRAH.  SCORPIO JAY and TREADSTONE CAIN were inspected by the veterinarian.

 

Race 11 – Master 5th Grade 380m

SNAKE PROOF was the best to begin.  ELKINGTON raced on to the heels of BLACK DENIM and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to SNAKE PROOF.  ELKINGTON raced wide into and down the home straight.
