The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

Trainer Mrs. J Miggins was fined $50 under Rule 86 (o) for negligence.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 380m

BRUTON MISS was best to begin.  Approaching the top turn BRUTON MISS shifted in severely checking the running of RUBY’S MAGIC which lost significant ground and shifted out abruptly onto the running of ABRAHAM KEEPING, WHERE’S DINO, COMMANCHE and SWEET TALKIN GAL all of which were severely checked and lost significant ground.

 

The greyhound SWEET TALKIN GAL was vetted post race and found to have sustained an off side wrist injury in running.  Trainer Mr. Harold Hovi was advised that SWEET TALKIN GAL would be stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 2 – Novice 380m

HOLIER THAN THOU, VELOCITY AIM and MISS LARDIE DA all began well. MID WESTERN GIRL was slowly into stride.  Through the back straight MISS LARDIE DA shifted in onto the running of VELOCITY AIM which lost ground as a result.  Approaching the top turn MISTIFIDE shifted in making contact with the running rail and was checked severely.  MID WESTERN GIRL which was following was also checked.  Both greyhounds lost significant ground.  WILDASH DIDDY was wide at the home turn.

 

The greyhound VELOCITY AIM was vetted post race and no abnormalities were detected.

 

The greyhound MISTIFIDE was vetted post race and found to have sustained an off side hind toe injury in running.  Trainer Ms. Joan Newnham was advised that MISTIFIDE would be stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 380m

WILDASH DUKE was best to begin.  HASEGAWA was slowly away.  Through the back straight MAYWYN WEALTH lost significant ground when tightened between runners.  Approaching the top turn GOLDEN FIST shifted in onto the running of BRIGHT REBEL which lost ground and shifted wide as a result. Through the top turn MOO MOO improved onto the heels of WIDASH DUKE. Both greyhounds were severely checked.  GOLDEN FIST was also checked to the outside of those 2 greyhounds and raced wide.  Approaching the home turn GOLDEN FIST shifted in across the running of HASEGAWA which was inconvenienced.  TOP END TORQUE and GOLDEN FIST were both wide at the home turn.

 

Race 4 – 4th Grade 380m

CARLYLE TYCOON and MAYWYN’S ACE both began well.  ZAYRAH and MAYWYNS MARTY were both slow into stride.  Soon after the start GUNNADOO RACER lost ground when tightened between runners.  Approaching the top turn FEAR ANDY shifted in onto the running of MAYWYN’S ACE and COSMIC PAULY.  MAYWYN’S ACE lost significant ground.  MAYWYNS MARTY was wide through the top turn. COSMIC PAULY was wide at the home turn.

 

The greyhound MAYWYN’S ACE was vetted post race and found to have sustained an off side hip injury in running.  Trainer Mr. John Barrow was advised that MAYWYN’S ACE would be stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 498m

COSMIC FREEZE was best to begin.  ZIPPING CARLTON and BELIMBA HUSTLER were both inconvenienced when tightened for running soon after the start.  Through the catching pen SCORPIO JAY shifted in tightening the running of GUNNADOO DELTA which lost ground.  ZIPPING CARLTON which was following was checked severely.  BELIMBA HUSTLER was also inconvenienced.  Leaving the catching pen ZIPPING BUBBA shifted in across the running of SPUDNUT which was inconvenienced.  GUNNADOO DELTA and ZIPPING BUBBA were tight and bumping down the running.

 

Race 6 – 3/4th Grade 380m

WILDASH WILDFIRE began well.  MAGIC CHAOS was slowly away.  Through the back straight SNEAKIN’ ROUND lost ground when tightened between runners.  Approaching the top turn GUNNADOO SECRET shifted in checking the running of LIBERTY LEGS which lost ground.  MAGIC CHAOS which was following was also inconvenienced.  Through the top turn LIBERTY LEGS shifted out across the running of AMY’S ELITE which was inconvenienced.  LIBERTY LEGS was wide at the home turn.

 

Race 7 – Mayors Trophy Final Open 498m

PEPPA PIG CLOUD and SLASHIN’ PETE both began well.  Through the catching pen COOL SPRITE, PRIVATE TALK, POST BOX and DEBORAH ROSE were all inconvenienced when tightened for running.  Leaving the catching pen PRIVATE TALK lost further ground when racing tight to the outside of COOL SPRITE.  Approaching the top turn DEBORAH ROSE was checked after improving onto the heels of COOL SPRITE.  ODD SOX which was following was also checked.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 380m

EUNICE LILLIAN was best to begin.  WHERE’S BLOCKER dwelt at the start.  ALL BUT CENTRE was slowly away.  Approaching the top turn BENEDICT GEOFF lost ground when tightened between runners. BENEDICT GEOFF and RAZOR ROSE were both wide at the home turn.  Down the running SINDARYN shifted in checking the running of EUNICE LILLIAN.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 380m

Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR86 (o) fined Trainer Ms. Jannine Miggins the sum of $50.00 after the greyhound WILDASH WILDBOY was initially placed in the incorrect starting box.

 

THANK YOU POP and ELITE ROBBO both dwelt at the start.  Through the back straight RHONDA JOAN which was racing tight to the inside of WHAT’S FOREVER lost momentum and significant ground. CAPTAIN LONESTAR which was following was also checked.  WILDASH WILDBOY was wide at the home turn.

 

The greyhound RHONDA JOAN was vetted post-race and no abnormalities were detected.

 

Race 10 – Masters 380m

SNAKE PROOF was best to begin.  VELOCITY KYZON was slowly away.  Soon after the start TROPICAL SANDS lost ground when tightened between runners.  General tightening through the top turn resulted in WIND TRACKER, TREADSTONE CAIN, SNAKE PROOF and ELLY NORA all being checked to varying degrees.  WENEREX and WIND TRACKER were both wide at the home turn.
